I am grateful for people on the earth who love and appreciate little children.
Last year I found myself late at night on an airplane bulging with passengers going north from Mexican City to Culican.
The seats in the plane were close together, and every seat was taken, mostly by the gracious people of Mexico.
Everywhere inside the plane there were packages and carry on luggage of all sizes.
A young woman came down the aisle with four small children, the oldest of which appeared to be about four and the youngest a newborn.
She was also trying to manage a diaper bag and a stroller and some bags.
The children were tired, crying, and fussing.
As she found her seat in the airplane, the passengers around her, both men and women, literally sprang to her aid.
Soon the children were being lovingly and tenderly comforted and cared for by the passengers.
They were passed from one passenger to another all over the airplane.
The result was an airplane full of baby-sitters.
The children settled down in the caring arms of those who cradled them and, before long, went to sleep.
Most remarkable was that a few men who were obviously fathers and grandfathers tenderly cradled and caressed the newborn child without any false, macho pride.
The mother was freed from the care of her children most of the flight.
The only thing that I felt bad about was that no one passed the baby to me!
I relearned that appreciation for and thoughtfulness and kindness to little children are an expression of the Savior's love for them.

Mixed Up Days
Guys....my days are totally messed up.
It started last weekend.
As you remember from an earlier blog post,
When I stayed up all night working on that music video that Youtube won't let me publish.
>.>
<.<
And I basically became a night owl for two days straight, sleeping different hours and such.
No.
I was fine with that even if it did mean I worked seven days in a row...
No.
What messed me up.
Was the changes to the schedule within the schedule.
For you see at Starsmet,
Each day has a particular task paired with it.
I knew what day it was based on what tasks I'd done at work.
Now though....
It's not working like that.
As apparently the managers have all been talking,
and they're going to move the tasks around.
I have no idea why they feel the need to do this.
The system has been fine for the past forever since I started working there.
The only problem I saw to this system is.....that on reptile days...we wouldn't always get everything done before the store opened.
Apparently because we have twice as many reptiles as other Starsmets stores.
And....my coworker in time is a bit leery of the creatures due to having been bitten a time too many.
Soo that goes a bit slowly at times.
Yet...everything worked out fine.
So I thought.
At the moment half of the daily tasks have been moved up a day.
Which means tomorrow's tasks of reptiles is still the same....
But maybe not for long.
It's all up in the air at the moment as Reth figures out if she actually does want to move tasks to different days.
Yet, it basically means....
That each day is now a surprise as I don't know what task I need to do...until I get to work.
I hope the schedule settles down quickly.
As I hate not knowing what I'm supposed to do before I do it. :)
Here's to hoping that it doesn't change....or if it does, that my schedule changes so that I can continue to do my favorite task. -Small Pets!!

The Dream
I was exploring in the Arctic with a friend. We were going up north so I could capture pictures of the borealis. And we ended up climbing onto an old house. -it looked like my parents house.
My perspective changed to that of a creature, that had lived in the arctic and hadn't seen humans in ages.
he was curious about the creatures and followed them, only to get caught when he got tangled up in the rope they were using to climb, but the girls seemed to ignore him...they saw him and everything, but left him alone.
But eventually they became friends and it came out that he was part of a pack of human wolf things that lived in the deep ice crevasses in the area.
The girl went to a local petstore to ask for help and through an agreement.
The creatures that were more human looking in my mind, but when they came into the light of the petstore looked like long legged German Shepherds. They all came to the Petstore where my coworkers stood anxiously, as these creatures had been terrorizing their city for a while now. Everything was pretty tense as neither side trusted each other. But we wanted to help them get back to a normal human life....
Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

From a Photo
Do you ever become fascinated with something.
Where you return to that something time and time again.
Just to look and/or enjoy?
Well.
I had that a bit ago.
In a place you wouldn't expect.
You see...my sister Kikay is in a class.
A photography class.
And.....
she has to take pictures.
And post them to a blog.
-Side note- YES!! ANOTHER BLOG TO FOLLOW!
lol I'm super excited she has a blog, I've been trying on and off to get her to start one.
-I try that sooner or later with friends/family lol. :)
In any case.
She needed to take pictures for her class...
of a person.
And guess who happened to be there?
Yep.
Me.
So we did this photoshoot thingymababber.
Kikay posted them on her blog.
I didn't think much of it.
Until she came home and told me that the teacher really liked me as a 'model.'
and that Kikay should continue to use me to take pictures.
that I'm expressive or something like that.
The one of me in my coat.
^^;; Nawwwww
So the next time she shot photos she used me again.
And one of the pictures she took of me....
Just fascinates me. http://theflightreflex.blogspot.com/p/starsight_27.html
The story behind it is this.
Kikay and I went to go see Warm Bodies....and totally spaced doing her photography homework due the next day.
I managed to meet up with her before her class and take photos.
But they were too dark.
So she needed to do some more after work.
Only after work....I ended up with a major headache.
Basically...I was suffering and just wanted to take a shower and head to bed.
But to help her out, I stayed up.
And tried to keep my facial expressions from showing my pain as she played the white ninja and moved all over the place to get the right lighting.
I think the photo that fascinated me was at the very end.
Where Kikay was like "We're done! Wait! Just one more!"
So I kept my Red Ninjaness in check and gave her a look as she shot another picture.
And...I think it's that photo that she ended up posting on her blog.
For the next couple of days I would get on her blog just to stare at it.
Because like I mentioned above...
It fascinated me. It's the top picture as of this post.
If the photo wasn't of me....
What would I think that the 'model' was trying to get across? Or the photographer wanted the model to get across?
Who knows.
Yet I see how Photography can fascinate people.
I mean it fascinates me.
lol not enough to go out and buy one of those fancy cameras to create awesome pictures.
But I do like to play photographer as well on occasion with my Itouch camera. :)
And when you end up with just the right shot...
Wow.
Just wow.
I could probably equate it to a great music video.
One where you look at it and think to yourself "I can't believe I did this! Surely someone else created this! No...it was me? WOW!" lol.
-btw had to delete my guardians video. >.> grr there must be a way to get that on the Internet somewhere....still looking into options. :)
Hmmm writing this post makes me want to go take pictures....
Where is my camera? :)

Ocotober 1993 General Conference Priesthood Session
First off. I quick note about yesterday's post. Apparently Owl City has a UMG with their songs on YouTube so.....I can't post my video with the music and it seems like such a lame video without the song to go with it. Soo this is a vid you probably won't see anytime soon. :( Sad to say. But it was fun to make! :)

James E. Faust -Keeping Covenants and Honoring the Priesthood
- "An essential part of unity is loyalty. ... Loyalty is a pretty difficult quality to possess. It requires the ability to put away selfishness, greed, ambition and all of the baser qualities of the human mind. You cannot be loyal unless you are willing o surrender. ...His own preferences and desires must be put away, and he must see only the great purpose which lies out ahead."
- The priesthood operates in a system of sublime order. The priesthood is not, however, a floating essence. It must be conferred by ordination with specific offices. It is held by men under sacred duty to use its authority to accomplish God's work for the blessings of men, women, and children alike. no one can claim priesthood authority except it is conferred openly by those possessing the authority, "and it is known to the church that he has authority and has been regularly ordained by the heads of the church."
- The Lord values his daughters just as much as he does his sons. In marriage, neither is superior; each has a different primary and divine responsibility. Chief among these different responsibilities for wives is the calling of motherhood. I firmly believe that our dear faithful sisters enjoy a special spiritual enrichment which is inherent in their natures.
- In our desire to be broad-minded, to be accepted, to be liked and admired, let us not trifle with the doctrines and the covenants which have been revealed to us, nor with the pronouncements of those who have been given the keys of the kingdom of God on earth.
- Now is the time in your life for doing, so later you become the man you are to be. Heavenly Father trusts you.
- We all are learning together within a family. We cannot expect our parents to be perfect any more than we can expect ourselves to be all that we hoped to be.
- Be eager to forgive when problems arise at home. Help with your younger brothers an sisters when needed. you are their hero. As you assume more responsibility at home, you will find additional opportunities popping up in other areas in your life.
- Choose your friends carefully.
- You who are sixteen and older and are dating, make sure the girls you date are just as goo when you return them to their home as when you picked them up.
- If you avoid making the seemingly small and harmless mistakes, your life will be free of many larger problems later on. Be a courageous young man by living straight. Create happy memories for yourselves and those around you.
- Hardworking young men of a few years ago are the productive and respected leaders of today.
- We must remember, our rewards for righteous living are only partially enjoyed in this mortal life. likewise, our miseries for breaking the commandments of God will not all be realized fully as we live here on the earth. Eternity is a long, long time.
- Leave it alone. Turn it off, walk away from it, burn it, erase it, destroy it.
- Meanwhile, remember that not all prayers are answered the same day or even the next day. Sometimes it takes a long time. But "with this step in place, I have seen hundreds of miracles take place. Without it, there is continued frustration, unhappiness, ineffectiveness, and despair."
- If you have tried and have given up, I plead with you to try again and again and again. Our Heavenly Father will not forsake your efforts if you persist.
- "The one who doesn't live to serve doesn't serve to live."
- As each realizes his own potential and what our Heavenly Father expects of him, a determination to live proper standards, to be true to one's best self, and to act always in accordance with a high sense of true values, there will follow incomparable joy and lasting peace.
- First, be where we ought to be.
- "If you ever find yourself where you shouldn't be, then get out!"
- Second, say what we ought to say.
- Third, do what we ought to do.
- Fourth, be what we ought to be.
- Could Joseph Smith, I ask you, the young man reared in rural New York largely without schooling, have dictated in so short a time a volume so complex in its nature and yet so harmonious in its whole, with so large a cast of characters and so extensive in its scope? Could he of his own abilities have created the language, the thought, the moving inspiration that has caused millions over the earth to read and say, "It is true"?
- To me it is marvelous that beyond the promises of a physical nature is the promise of hidden treasures of knowledge concerning things divine and eternal.
- You too are of the substance of my testimony.
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Guardian Seen Again
It's always a pickle for me when I have an early morning work shift.
And I mean super early.
Like 3am early.
Because I get into this debate...of whether or not I should stay up all night, or go to bed super early.
Staying up all night usually wins out.
Though if you don't have the right motivation,
staying up those extra couple of hours becomes super difficult.
But this time around, I had a plan. :)
I spent the week gathering movie clips from a favorite movie of mine that comes out soon,
found a song that I thought would work.
And spent all of last night creating a music video.
Only...come the time where I had to go to work....
>.>
I wasn't done.
I still had like 10 secs that needed to be worked out.
That always seems to be the case.
I get so close to finishing my project...and I have to drop it or risk being late.
*shakes head*
Still after work, and a long nap.
I managed to get the video done. ^^ lol
Hope you enjoy my sleep deprived work!
lol I think it turned out super well! ^^
(should have been a movie here....)
Editor's Note: Well....this is utter lameness. >.> Apparently Owl City has some UMG thingymajigger that means....my video has been blocked. Lame. Lame. Lame. How was I supposed to know that I couldn't use that song?? It makes no sense to me!
Sorry that you guys can't see it....hopefully I'll figure something out...
but for now...the link has been erased as its pointless to click on it. :(
It was such a cool video too....

Go Find The Fish!
Losing a bag of fish.
In the store.
I didn't think it was possible but....
It happened today.
A customer came into the store right as we opened.
And asked for some feeder goldfish.
My coworker bagged it up and we went on our merry way.
My merry way being on a break.
Well. When I got back she told me.
That the customer had come back to her and said/asked:
"I've lost my bag of fish down one of your aisles. Can you find it for me?"
O.o
How can you lose a bag of fish on our aisles?!?!!?
lol I'm sure my coworker had the same impression.
O.o
o.O
Yah...apparently the customer got distracted with their dog, set down the bag....and spaced where they'd set it down.
(my coworker says that this guy comes in alot...and constantly seems like they're stoned...so it's not too hard to believe that they did lose the bag of fish I suppose.)
My coworker did look down the aisles of our department, but didn't see anything.
So she ended up bagging up some more fish for them and they went on their merry way.
I ended up walking up and down all the aisles in the store looking for this bag of fish.
And didn't see it.
Both of us kinda assumed the the customer had probably stolen the fish, hiding it under their jacket or something....though I don't know why they'd want to steal feeder fish...they're like a quarter each....
In any case...I put the missing bag of fish out of my mind.
Assuming that in a couple of weeks...if not a few days we would find the bag of fish by the smell.
lol as I assumed that they'd probably been placed behind something....and we wouldn't find it that way.
Yet, later, near the end of my shift I was helping a different customer with some African Dwarf Frogs. They wanted to know what kind of food to feed them,
so I lead them down the aisle.
And there they were.
Sitting next to some filters.
The bag of fish!
I snatched it up with a triumphant AH HA!!!
lol the others gave me a weird look, but understood when I explained lol.
yep, the little gold fishies are back in their tank now. :)
Apparently I went up the aisle on my search when I should have gone down, as the bag was placed so that if you came from the wrong direction...you wouldn't see it.
I'm just glad we don't have to worry about finding a bag of dead fish in the future lol. :) (as those are super smelly! Trust me...I know. :S)

The Dream
I was watching a fencing competition. And there was this cute guy. He kinda looked like the actor Sterling Knight. Behind Kikay and I, were a camera crew. And I commented that I knew the guy. They got all impressed and wanted to know if we were dating or anything and I was like. O.o No...I talked to him for the first time in my institute class a couple of days ago. I hadn't known that he was like this famous fencing guy. Top of his class. And I found it difficult not to root for him, as he was on an enemy team and my Sister's fencing group was also competing.
It was a bit....saddening, as Sterling's group treated Kikay's group like they were children. real amateurs because Sterling's group were more Olympic in training then Kikay's. It also didn't help that Kikay's old boss lead that group...and he was obsessed with perfection.
Yet...after the competition...I think I left before it ended, I found Sterling...practicing/warming up for a concert. I actually think that he found me playing the flute (I have no idea how to play the flute) and he joined in. With this whole band. He was really impressed with my playing and invited me to join, but I didn't believe I was that great...but we were walking around an older mansion home type place holding hands when...
The unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

The Green Trainer
I had the weirdest experience the other day.
It kinda felt like a missionary experience for me.
Not in the teaching the gospel aspect.
But more in the companionship aspect.
As I'm pretty new at work at Starsmet....though I suppose six months isn't that new anymore...I still consider myself as a 'greenie' as this is my first job anywhere.
Well...the other day Toc called me up and said:
"Hey Sarnic, at 11 you'll jump on register and soon after Tawl will join you. You'll be training him on how to work everything okay?"
()_() *small voice* Okay... ;) lol
"You'll do great, because you have a great talent for attention to detail so you'll be able to train him in everything."
lol.
Yah. I trained Tawl.
SO WEIRD!
I mean he's worked at Starsmet longer then I have...yet I'm training him on how to work the register?
But I did have that moment of panic right before stepping up to the plate of "I can't do this! I'm too green still! I'll make a mistake!"
And I wondered...if this is how the missionaries feel when they get transferred from trainee to trainer status. "I'm not ready!" lol. And then they step up to the plate and are awesome.
I'm not saying that I was awesome.
But...I think I did a pretty good job with the training.
lol, it was fun to interact with customers that day, as Tawl is grey-haired and I'm the young 'whippersnapper' lol customers more Tawls age kept asking "Who's training who?"
"Sarnic's training me." "Now you know, an old dog can learn new tricks"
lol.
But my favorite thing about seeing Tawl on the register, is that he refers to all the ladies as "pretty and young" even if they're older then he is. haha ^^ He's so sweet like that. He does have the charm to be on register and it's just fun to see him go "Oh yah!" or "Right right!" or "oooh!!!! I knew that!" when I remind him to press certain buttons. lol.
That was a fun hour of training for me. :) I still haven't shown him everything, as you don't encounter every situation every day. So he still has some of the 'odd and unusual' tidbits to learn.
But he's learning. :)
And hopefully it's not as scary for him as it was for me when I was trained on register.
Because I totally was like. ()_() *small voice* HELP!!
lol as I felt like they showed me two things and then left me there to fend for myself.
Yah...I called for help alot that day when the customers just didn't use the debit card or cash option. :)
Still, it's interesting...to be considered able enough to train someone else....
It makes me feel a bit more mature I suppose.
And more firmly rooted in the fact that I do know what I'm doing lol :)
Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream
My family and I were going on a trip...to like Disney world or something. Only...it wasn't quite my whole family. We had pepper our dog...but sometimes it seemed like Sadie was there instead even though I knew she was dead. we did have two dogs with us because my cousin jenny was there with her dog and kids and husband, and I was there with my family...only I had the sense that...my dad....i don't know. it was like he was there...but he wasn't there. like he'd died...but was still there. I have no idea. We all got into the little rowboat on the dock with the water coming into a seats and were rolled out to the plane and I was worriedly looking for my daddy when...
the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)
