Napatalie

This is why you don't play baseball in the house.

This is Napatalie, one of the many plants my sister has brought into the apartment.
You can see that she's been a bit...beat up.
How did this happen? Well, it actually wasn't because of baseball.
When we went on vacation last week, we had a friend watch all our flowers/plants that needed to be watered every other day at her place.
We placed the plants outside for sunlight and figured all was good.
But it wasn't.
No, the friend didn't beat up Napatalie playing baseball either.
A windstorm appeared out of nowhere, and flattened Napatalie with its great gusts of wind while we were gone. Our friend would have stopped the big old mean storm from beating up poor Napatalie but she was away from home that day and by the time she got home...it was too late.
Flattened.

But not to worry. Rescue Sister is on the job!

And the result? The picture above. :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

My mom, sister and I were on a journey.
We were trying to find the fountain of youth.
To protect it basically from the evil beautiful darkhaired witch lady who wanted to use the fountain for evil.

But it wasn't a battle between good and evil humans....you see my family were....cat like people. We still walked on two legs, but I had the impression that we were lions as well. And I was kinda like the 'head of the family' so I had a lion's mane.
Anyway we were walking/rushing through the woods.
Knowing that the woman was right behind us.
Mom led us to a pond where an old guy. He had light skin, grey hair, but his face was still youthful looking with very few wrinkles. He had on a fisherman's hat and vest and he was standing by this pond.
That was protected by a wooden fence.
Mom paused on the dirt road, when she spotted a frosted flake with eyes on it.
I got the impression that it could have been a soul, trying to get to the pond to break a spell.
Mom wasn't buying it though. She carefully picked it up in her clawed hands.
Suspicious that it might be a trick to try and get us to show the witchwoman behind us the fountain.
Then, carefully she took a bite out of the frosted flake. (it seemed like she bit off a third of it vertically)
Her reasoning? If it is in pain then its real and we will bring it with us.
But nothing happened. So mom tossed it aside and we continued on past the pond.
And onto a side track covered with dark brown dirt and wood chips. It got narrower so we squeezed between the trees and such down into a type of glen. -At one point going onto all fours to journey faster though it felt odd. We arrived in this pit/glen thing...where the trees thinned out and the ground was...mossy/dirt...campground like. And there was also a pit.
It was square and I knew that 'this was the actual fountain of youth.' the pond in the foreground was just a cover up. It did help people. But it was more for the 'faith' aspect where they show up and they're going to be fine already so it just reaffirms to them that they'll live. Something like that.
I peered over the edge of the pit.
And saw my dad! He was laying there at the bottom. Looking pretty content.
He was happy to see us. I hopped down into the pit and gave him a hug glad to finally see him.
-It seemed like I hadn't seen him in a couple of years. Mom had come to get us from wherever my sister and I were and we ran into the witch woman on our journey. Something like that.
But then I realized....or it came to my knowledge.
That....Dad was dead. And that he'd died a while ago but my mom hadn't told us.
He was now part of the fountain of youth. Forever young, but unable to leave.
For those who truly desire to drink of the fountain...that's the price.
They have to stay to help out. I wasn't under the impression that it was a permanent thing. It was more of a 'I will help out for now until my time is done.'
I think...its more of a 'those who wish to see the fountain more then once.' Its like...the Field of Dreams movie where the old black dude walks into the cornfield because he was invited to come and see. That's what it was like for my dad, though I did know he was 'sick'
I don' know its hard to explain the feeling I got. I was sad to know that dad had passed away. But I was happy that he was happy.
And I realized that it was mom's intention to join Dad at the fountain. But she'd brought my sister and I here as well to know that Dad was alright and that she would be fine as well.
(we were human from the point I saw my dad in the pit by the way.)
The other grey/white haired man showed up and he was in the area as well during our happy reunion.
But soon enough...it was time for my sister and I to leave.
We were given some jerky sticks to eat.
Though they were different....because they were already a part of us.
My sister commented; "I kinda feel like a cannibal eating this." Since it was meat. and we are meat...it made sense in a way because it was part of us....yah..hard to explain.
We said our goodbyes remembering fond memories
Kim mentioned how she had seen mom when she was younger and she had short spiky hair.
I got an vague image of what she was talking about. Mom short brown spiky hair (apparently she was a wild child when she was younger ;) ) and my dad with his black hair looking young and happy in their early twenties.

In the fountain of youth you become a 'youth' again, but my mom and dad chose to age back to the age I last saw them in. (how old they are in real life) so that we could recognize them and feel secure with them.
Though I'm sure as my sister and I left ,never to see our parents again, walking up the hill and away from the fountain, they became young again.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

Transitioning Subtitles

Last night I was watching an anime TV series -D.N. Angel. Its my favorite of the animes.
I like to watch it in Japanese with the English subtitles.

Sidetracked
-Have you noticed that if you watch cartoons in English, their foreign voices sound weird and don't work with the character? But if you watch the cartoons in say Japanese with their English subtitles, then the English version of the characters...sounds off? Yah...i watched D.N. Angel in Japanese first so that's my preferred way of viewing the movie, the characters sound really dumb in English.
Unsidetracked
Well this time around...it seemed different.
I was reading subtitles that weren't familiar to me.
It has been a while since I've seen these episodes.
But I began to wonder.
Would different DVDs/TVs give you different translations of what was being said?
Is there a way to update subtitles for movies to make it seem more current with how people speak today through our DVD devices?
Because that would be really cool! But also...not so cool at the same time if I had favorite lines I liked to see and they were no longer there, that would be saddening. :(

I don't know if the subtitles actually are different, I've seen these episodes enough time that I tend to multitask when watching them, so I don't get all the subtitles.
I'm guessing they're the same.
But still. It was a cool thought if it is actually possible to update subtitles in movies. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

We were in a pond...on top of a pond.
But it was a disaster area.
The water used to be all bright and clear. The bluest of blues.
But now it was all disgusting. Green, moldy. toxic. unlivable.
It wasn't good to touch it. Something bad would happen.

I was making my way carefully along...
when I ended up in a playground. (a nice big plastic one with lots of doo dads and routes)
In a race. There was a big group of us, friends, family, Brandon Martindale...and my Mom were specifically there. Basically we had to take the 'zipline' -plastic version for playgrounds. And choose a route red or green. Then make our way to a 'cabin' in order to win.
My turn came up. And I grabbed the zipline. (I was racing/trying to not get touched by Brandon)
I chose to go the green...purple? route instead of the red route like everybody else had been taking.
(My mom was on my team by the by)
But I was having problems seeing. I think I 'hit' my head on an overhead beam as I raced. because it was hard to talk, and to see..my vision was blurry.
I saw a map, that had the locations of the different camps I could go find.
-They were under the different platforms. Like the ones you stand on while waiting to get on the slide.
There were two camps I could go to in order to be considered 'safe'
One was "Jaff Cabin" and then there was another one.
I chose to find Jaff because I thought the name was cooler.
I never did find it though. :( I couldn't seem to apply the map I'd seen to the reality in front of me.

But I ran out onto the street. Because my group and I were trying to drum up business for our store...a competing chain had opened up around the corner, and we were struggling to get customers.
I was waiting on a residential street. Pretending to punch and kick a barrier that had styrofoam protection for the metal/cement beams holding the barrier.
I'd seen other people hitting it earlier.
It was fun to hit the barrier though I was careful I didn't want to get hurt.
I did a few kicks where I'd strike out with one foot, twist and hit the soft protection with my other foot.
The guy watching me thought I was pretty cool ;)
And then, as if out of the mist. a man came. An older Indian man with a bag over his shoulder. (he reminded me of Jacob's dad in the Twilight movies) It was the guy we were waiting for. I and my group were very hopeful that he could help us save my business.
He set up a square...it was basically poles and wire/string with a bunch of different trinkets on it. Beaded things, glass squares, Indian type decorations.
The reasoning? Well...it was a game.
I was 'Satan' everybody else had to stop me. I had to stop them from stopping me.
But we didn't know how to stop 'me'. Basically the Indian dude said "Hook them together." Meaning using the different clasps holding the items to the string, we need ed to hook the items together.
So I started moving around the square hooking different feathers, beads and such in pairs.
Then I realized...perhaps I didn't want them being hooked together. I had the thought that I didn't want them to connect five together. Because that would mean that I had lost.
So I tried unhooked a few, distracted others from their task of hooking.
But one person got Five together. :(
Lucky me. :) it wasn't the correct number.
We all were confused so we asked for help.
The Indian didn't want to tell us the answer.
But he did let it slip that we needed seven not five.
So everyone began working again.
And it became a sort of art project. I 'helped' by pointing people to items hanging on the string that were further away from them to make them waste time.
But none of them were right.
A few people would go up to the Indian guy to see if they'd gotten the right pattern. Nope.
Then there was a knock on the door.
And this guy came in with a bunch of arrows and stakes in his arms.
I panicked. This was not what I wanted. So I pushed him back outside shutting the door. hoping that nobody had seen.
Why? Well, the key to me 'loosing' was to place the arrows/stakes on my body. (like staking a vampire) So I was part of the equation. They needed to include me and the arrows/stakes in me in order to win.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

Extra Info.
-I was at the park the other day playing on a zipline.
-I noticed yesterday that my friend Brandon Martindale is coming home from his mission soon.
-I had been thinking about a water fall and a pond before I went to sleep (story idea)
-I spent the past week near Indian ruins and such.
-Also watched Eclipse recently from the twilight saga.

And that is why
the fox never came home. :)

Brighter Blinds

There is a detriment to having my room in the darkest part of the house.
And that is...the light
Not that it gets too bright.
But that it doesn't get brighter.
You see with my blinds closed...
After about 8am...the light seems to stay about the same.
So I can sleep in til 11 or later, and wake up still thinking it could be 8 or 9.
Most days I don't mind. It gives me a chance to dream longer.
But I do spend the day feeling a bit...off.
One of these days I'll learn to get up when I wake up instead of thinking "5 more minutes" and sleeping for another hour or so. :)

Until you next see these words;
I"ll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

(I know I said I slept in today to dream longer...unfortunately those dreams I was dreaming...faded. Darn it. The day apparently has distracted me.)

B-Ball Boys

I've missed something.
Something important.
For someone else.
It seemed like everytime I left my apartment today...
I would see a group of guys either crossing the street or walking along the sidewalk.
Each in the same colored jerseys, so I knew that they were a team.
A basketball team.
What other teams wear shorts to play a sport? I can only think of basketball.
It was strange though.
I had thought maybe it was a school competition or something happening and the kids were grabbing a bite to eat or something after the game.
That was because I'd only seen one team at this point.
Though I knew my thinking wasn't totally right. I knew the schools were out for the summer.
And I'm pretty sure actual basketball games are in the fall...or the end of the summer.
But I put the thought from my mind and continued on with my errands
However, I saw many teams today. Ones in red, white, green, blue, t-shirts and shorts.
All different colors of teams wandering the streets.
It was like my city had been swamped with annoying teenage boys. Making rather silly nuisances of themselves since they haven't 'matured' yet ;) They were young kids, Jr.High. Highschool age.

So I think there is or was a basketball camp happening in the area. With kids from all over the state coming to...idk do things that you do at basketball camp. (I don't pay attention too much to sports)

Or there is something else going on. >.> <.< lol.
Still it was something to be remarked upon.
Everytime I left my place for my destination...
There would be a different set of jerseys in sight.
Weird.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Laptop Fan

My laptop has sadly...'hit the fan'
Literally.
My fan broke :( Meaning that all the epic plans and stories and pictures I wanted to tell from last week...well, can't be done yet >.< grrr
Why? Well, without the fan able to do its job...my computer gets hot too quickly *sniff*
And I tend to take forever writing in general.
Which means I would be on a...deadline to write a blog before my laptop got too hot and shut itself down.
Yah. lol I would loose. By a looonnng shot.

Still, I'm hopeful that this fan...will be fixed without any problem....I have to send my laptop away though to get it fixed. :( :( :( So I'll be without my own laptop for a couple of weeks or three Y_Y.
Hopefully it gets fixed. Hopefully.
There is a chance that if they can't fix the fan, that they'll keep my laptop and send me...from my understanding a giftcard for the amount I spent on my laptop so I could buy another.
I hope it doesn't come to that. :) I like my little touchscreen computer. Its been with me for almost two years.
Plus...if they keep my laptop, that means they have access to all my files.... :S
And my Itunes Library....
But I don't want to 'erase' everything, in case that I do get my laptop back.
Such a conundrum.

Anywho. :)
Its rather funny that my laptop fan has...quit.
That seems to be the problem with laptops of mine.
The fan eventually quits.
heh...^^;;
Usually from my fault.
I notice something is wrong and 'try to fix it' and...end up making the fan useless.

The last time.
Oh my.
It was totally a nightmare.
We took my laptop to PC laptops to get it fixed. (its not going there this time)
>.<
I AM NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN.
*jerks*
(for those of you who like the place. I don't. That's a fact.)
Two weeks....and nothing.
Why? Their tech was 'allergic to cat/dog hair' so he couldn't work on it.
-Pets gotta love how their fur gets everywhere :D lol.
Apparently there weren't any other 'fix it' dudes there who could fix it....
I think the other guy was on Vacation or something.
Anyway...it finally 'got fixed'
And I took it home.
Turned it on
and bzzz.
It didn't work.
So back the laptop went to PC laptops.
And.....they 'lost' my nice powercord that was almost spanking brand new. And gave me a simple less expensive black one in return.
My bets are one of the guys in the shop got jealous and snatched it.
>.< Plus...the fan still didn't work. (it was whole now, but not working.)
I was sooo not going back to the PC place. (where they Don't love you if you didn't buy Your product from Them) -I think they just wanted me to buy one of their laptops....mine was a bit dated.
(It was the laptop before my current one that broke.)
Anywho.
I finally went to my Uncle.
Who's a computer guy.
And what did he find?
One of the wires was loose -not plugged in. (apparently the techno dude didn't put it back. Dummy...)
So my laptop was fixed! Woot! By my uncle ^^
...only to break a bit later. -two years ago now.- in a way where it couldn't be fixed. (hinge broke)

And that...is my laptop story. Heh. :)
And the reason why I intensely dislike PC Laptops. (I imagine throwing darts, tomatoes and other things at the screen whenever one of their commercials comes on. ;) )
Anyway, I hope history does not repeat itself.
And this time my fan will be fixed easypeasy. :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

My brother and I were in the backyard.
With these remote control monster trucks.
We were...competing.
His truck was called "Voldemort."
Mine was called "Harry Potter."
We raced. Going through a 'cage of branches' and among grapevines and on jumps, through the grass. In our backyard.
Yet, my brother wasn't liking it.
He kept changing the rules. Trying to get me to lose.
Accusing me of cheating.
I got sick of it...and basically lost it.
And I went all out against Voldemort ramming my truck into his.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

Go get it 3!!!

Have you ever set out to do something impossible?
With the knowledge that you will almost positively most definitely fail?
Would you do this impossible task...if you were ordered to do so?

We have a game in our apartment called Stratego.
Its like a board game version of Capture the Flag.
With an Army to defend the flag of different ranks.
From 10 to 2. The goal is to find the flag.
Though defeating the other army is also fun.
But, there is a little problem to this game of 10s killing 9s and 9s killing 8s etc.
There are bombs. That only the 3s could disarm.

Well awhile ago I was playing Stratego with my sister.
And one of my players...not a three, had discovered a bomb...to his demise.
well. For some reason I decide to go try and have one of my 3s to get that bomb and disarm it.

Basically my thought process was:
"GO GET IT THREE!"
And my brave little three responded: *Salutes* Okay!
He went a trudging onward into the mass of the army.
And got slaughtered in the first ranks.
*sniff*
My poor little three.
he was so brave.
Going to do his job, even when he knew he would die.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Note: My blogging will be sporadic in the next week due to iffy Internet access. So if I don't blog. :) Its because I'm having too much fun on vacation :)

The Dream

My sister and I were at a wedding.

But before that point....
There was some sort of test all the girls had to go through in order to pass.
We all lined up in our fancy dresses so that a woman and her assistants could inspect us.
It seemed like we were being prepared for a competition.
And I was basically the underdog, the outcast, the poor one.
Part of this 'inspection' involved us "cleaning off."
We'd step under an overhead shower to wash off.
When it was my turn I took all my clothes off and spinned around for a quick cleaning.
Well...that was apparently a scandal, because of all the gasps and rude remarks and such.
Apparently the other girls had left their underwear on.....
Anyway. I got past, with the help of one of the guys. He became my escort of sorts.

And then we ended up in the wedding.
And I got bored rather quickly.
So i was packing up preparing to leave all the bright wedding festivities.
When I ran into my sister.
She was sitting outside (the wedding was outside)
looking at...I guess it would be an iPhone....one of those phones with all those apps.
I asked her what she was doing and she said "I heard our church was on fire I was trying to find footage, but it doesn't look like its on fire, or there's just alot of smoke. But there is a fire somewhere. We should get there right away!"
I tried to look at her iPhone to see this footage but I didn't get a clear picture of anything. She turned the phone away from me as well.
The application she was using was rather cool though.
It acted like...a satellite camera. She could access some satellite and have it focus on the area she wanted to see and give real time footage of what was actually happening. Not just pictures. Actual footage.
I thought she was still interested in the church, but my sister (now that I could see what she was looking at) was looking at houses. One house at a time. Seeing if they were on fire.
Well. She finally found one that was.
It was an old Victorian looking house that was brown in color...and I think made from wood. so a Wood looking Victorian two story cabin type house. That was on fire.
Then the video began to play and ti was like a news report.
But the screen got bigger as I looked at the burning house, until I was there in the action.
Me and a group of younger kids ran up to the house to help save the family inside.
The fire people kinda just stood and watched...kinda. They were getting hoses ready and such, but I and the younger ones were the ones to go inside the house to get the family out.
There was an older gentlemen. With a bald head/fringes of brown hair above his ears and a moustache. he was telling the story in the background. And I could see him get his family out of the house and away from it. Actually he and two others...I think they were girls were sitting on the porch swing, almost dozing, with fire burning in front of them and behind them. But they acted like they were safe.
Until the swing broke.
Then suddenly it was just the guy there. Laying against the side of the house. He would twitch and move as fire appeared behind him. But then fall back...well eventually the heat of the house and the fire burning behind him got him to move.

"We need to go now to help them!" I said suddenly back at the wedding.
It was going to be a trip though. We were still in college, and my family's home ward was 50 miles (two valleys) away.
But even though I had the intention to leave...i kept getting delayed.
With wedding stuff.
Anyway I'd gathered up everything. And i was heading out the door just as the wedding ended.
A bunch of people came out and I basically went in....I was sneaking, trying not to be seen.
And then an...uncle...grandpa came into the picture.
And another extended family person said "To ask what Grandpa did for the wedding."
So I did.
I could see the fridge (it was big, like closet sized) and all the shelves so I figured that he had hidden himself on one of the shelves during the wedding or something.
(It seemed more like a "This is what I did at so and so's wedding when I was younger" story.)
Anyway. They had a 'breakfast dinner' that served pancakes.
And my grandpa had stuck balls of dough (no bigger then a dime) in the middle of every pancake.
(I could see this happening as he did it so I knew what the balls of dough looked like)
And when  people would bite into the dough.
It would explode and send martian green goo/slime all over them. (not really explode...but it was a surprise..it dribbled more then exploded, like a leaky pen getting everyone green)
The bride (in the background but also the foreground cus I could see her) was complaining how this trick had almost ruined her wedding dress! But luckily she'd noticed in the nick of time to avoid the green stuff.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

Extra Info.

The part of the dream where I was being inspected and judged by others was based off of a daily blog comic that I had checked out yesterday about  fox. http://www.redtailscomic.com/ is the link. In almost the same situation.
There was a story in the news a while back about a guy who drove past a house and saw that it was on fire so he stopped and knocked on the door getting the family out to safety. It was amazing because the smoke just looked like it was coming from the chimney. So it wasn't easily noticeable that the house was on fire.
Also yesterday, or the day before yesterday I saw a story where firefighters had to let a man drown in some city because policy bound them so they couldn't help save the man's life. -This was reflected in my dream by the firefighters not rushing into the house themselves.
The whole wedding idea....came from a story told yesterday or the day before on Entertainment Tonight about some diva's wedding and how it was turning into a big mess yadda yadda.

And that is why
The fox never came home :)

Raptured

It took me a while to leave my room this morning.
Not because I was sleeping in.
I just got distracted by my computer. (It happens alot)
But I had heard my sister up and about doing this and that, mostly cleaning.
And I came out expecting to see her...
Only I didn't.
She wasn't anywhere in the apartment.
What was my first thought about being confronted with an empty apartment?
"Maybe she got raptured."
Yep that was my first thought lol. :)
I think it was because I didn't hear the door open and close like I usually do.
To me it seemed like she was there making noise,
and suddenly stopped as I left my room.
like she'd disappeared into thin air.
I actually played with the idea for a minute or two.
looking about to see if I saw any empty clothes...that looked out of place.
lol i was also thinking "Crud, I got left behind...I can't get left behind!"
And it was with that prideful  thought.
That my mind kicked into gear, remembering that my sister had told me she had a date today.
So I figured. "Oh, she's gone on her date!"
Ha. Wrong.
she came back a few minutes later.
She had gone to get the mail. :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

Another person came up to me, wanting to know the formula to basically create a human being.
They couldn't remember what it was though we'd gone through the formula earlier.
So I led them downstairs to the laundry room and pulled out a stack of cards.
I shuffled them and laid the cards out in a specific pattern following the formula.
I counted out another set of cards from these face cards around 17 I think.
Then I needed measuring cups, laundry soap, oil and other things.

But the person who came to me...was a plant.
They were working for the aliens.
and the aliens wanted to know how to create human beings.
So they did, but they looked...fake, unnatural.

I turned around with the person and there were three people in a classroom sitting in desks.
Young people high school age. There were two girls (one girl was blonde haired in high pigtails) and a guy. And they were surrounded by glass. Wide eyed, smiling, and looking very fake. though they were real.
Next to them on a conveyor belt came models. from the torso up of the same people looking like spaghetti clay.
I was furious. It was like they were creating an army. Against the treaty.
They weren't supposed to experiment on any more humans.
I called them on it and the aliens (looking more human then alien) motioned for the conveyor belt to move the figures back into the dark opening they came out of.
But the damage was already done.
They'd used real body parts from the humans in the glass cases.
And they couldn't be replaced.
The liver from one, the eyes from another.
It was saddening

and the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.
