I do have to say that there's something satisfying about like....idk how to word it...but decreasing the load? Making things more organized?
We were doing scans at work today, looking for holes where the shelves were empty of product and scanning the prices to make sure that the item that was supposed to be there actually didn't have any items available and was in fact supposed to be empty ... or if the scanners said that there was product supposedly supposed to be on the shelf...to go hunt it down and put it on the shelf, or correct the numbers in the system if the item wasn't found.
And part of that was scanning through the cat food today.
Which was supposed to be just looking at holes.....and scanning those.
But having figured that cat food hadn't really been worked since our truck came in like a week ago....I ended up pulling out like 5 different carts/pallets of 'overstock' cat food in the back and working them out onto the floor.
And I have to say it was satisfying to like....work through the product and actually have a good like....2/3rds of it go out onto the floor.
To be able to condense everything down into smaller piles so that the back room wasn't as crazy filled....even though it will be kinda a pointless exercise considering we have another truck in tomorrow that will contain more product that will definitely have some overstock involved and therefore...will mean that basically the backroom will look exactly the same as it did today before I worked everything out onto the floor.
But for today at least I could have the satisfaction of having at least the cat food section in our backrooms be mostly emptied out. It was a nice feeling.
