October 1990 General Conference Sunday Afternoon

Have you ever wanted to be anxiously engaged in a good cause, but wasn't sure what sort of 'good cause' you needed to be anxiously engaged in?
Well. Sometimes reading from conference talks will give you a nudge in a right direction. :)

L. Tom Perry -"Serve Go Acceptably with Reverence and Godly Fear"
  • I want to discuss reverence as an attitude--an attitude of deepest respect and veneration toward Deity. Of course, reverent behaviors follow reverent attitudes, but it is the attitude of reverence that we need to cultivate first among our members. Reverent behaviors without reverent attitudes are empty of meaning because they are performed for the praises of men, not God.
  • If reverence is an attitude towards Deity, then it is a private feeling. It is something we feel inside our hearts no matter what is going on around us. It is also a personal responsibility. We cannot blame others for disturbing our reverent attitudes.
  • Behavior learned at home determines behavior in church meetings.
  • Let us never depreciate the value of our own personal example of being a living witness of the love and respect we have for Him.
Russell M. Nelson -Choices
  • Decisions you first thought to be purely personal virtually always impact the lives of others.
  • You are one of God's noble and great spirits, held in reserve to come to earth at this time.
  • Agency is a divine gift to you. You are free to choose what you will be and what you will do.
  • "Spencer, you have been called! You are not to die! You must do everything you need to do to care for yourself and continue to live."
  • Faith, repentance, and obedience will qualify you for sublime gifts of justice and mercy, which are bestowed upon those worthy of the blessings of the Atonement.
  • Yes, every test, every trial, every challenge and hardship you endure is an opportunity to further develop your faith.
  • Remember that faith and prayer alone are seldom sufficient. Personal effort is usually necessary to accomplish your heart's desire.
  • As you continue to face many challenging choices in life, remember, there is great protection when you know who you are, why you are here, and where you are going. Let your unique identity shape each decision you make on the path toward your eternal destiny. Accountability for your choices now will bear on all that lies ahead.
Hartman Rector, Jr. -The Resurrection
  • The resurrection has to do with the restoration of the spirit to the body and the body to the spirit.
  • "And assuredly, as the Lord liveth, for the Lord God hath spoken it, ... they who are righteous shall be righteous still, and they who are filthy shall be filthy still; wherefore, they who are filthy are the devil and his angels."
  • The good news is that everyone will be resurrected. All will live again! And all who have been righteous (have repented) will still be righteous. The bad news is that he that is filthy (which means the devil and those who have chosen to associate with him) shall be filthy still.
  • In fact, the Master has indicated we should say nothing but repentance to this generation. Repentance seems to be the most important experience we can have on this earth to prepare for the resurrection, because "none but the truly penitent are save."
  • Faith in Jesus Christ unto repentance is the saving power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • I do not believe there will be anyone in the celestial kingdom that is not nice.
  • "To be nice" means much more than just to be good.
  • You can tell what a man worships by what he does on Sunday.
  • Brothers an sisters, the gospel is easy to live. All we have to do is stay everlastingly at it.
Ruth B. Wright -Draw Strength from the Book of Mormon
  • I feel the spirit of noble prophets and leaders who made choices to be obedient to the Lord in spite of earthly trials. The examples of their faith, courage, love, humility, service, and endurance sustain me and give me strength to face challenges in my own life.
  • The stories are familiar, yet the precepts we learn from them may be different each time we read them. The scriptures have the power to speak to our particular situations wherever we are in life. The insights you gain my be entirely different from the ones I gain, but they all can strengthen us personally.
  • When the unknown looms ahead of me, I gain strength by remembering Lehi and exercising faith that the Lord will guide me.
  • When tasks seem too great or even impossible, I think of courageous Nephi by the water's edge building a ship.
  • "I have not commanded you to come ... that ye should fear me, or that ye should think that I of myself am more than a mortal man."
  • When I feel inadequate and overwhelmed with my own weaknesses, I think of King Benjamin and try again.
  • I gain strength from reading about Alma and Amulek as I endeavor to meet my individual trails.
  • In a day of ever-changing values in which some say, "If it doesn't hurt anyone, do what you want," or "If it feels good, do it," or "It's only cheating when you get caught," I think about Helaman's stripling warriors. These young men, who were taught correct principles by their mothers, "were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all--they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted."
  • Now, that means being true when you are tempted, being true when you don't want to be, being true when it means standing alone from the rest of the world. Remembering the example of these faithful young men strengthens me in my effort to be steadfast in obeying gospel principles.
  • He blesses us daily, as he blessed the little children, with a love that gives me strength to go forth with assurance that he will guide me.
Helio R. Camargo -In All Things, Give Thanks
  • These truths of the restored gospel only cause the light already had to shine with greater brilliance--any happiness and joy already experienced to be magnified, and inspired wisdom to be added to the knowledge already acquired.
  • We should be grateful for the blessings which we seek and receive as well as for those blessings that come to us that are beyond our current capacity to comprehend.
  • May human pride and pretensions never arise in us to cause us to imagine in those moments of personal victory or accomplishment that it is by our own merit that we have achieved, but rather may we recognize the hand of God in all things.
Waldo P. Call -Follow the Prophets
  • "Therefore go, my son, and thou shalt be favored of the Lord, because thou hast not murmured.
  • My dear brothers and sisters and family, can't you see what we need to do? Be submissive--do not murmur-endure to the end. If we will do this, the Lord will show us the way, if we will but follow his prophets and Apostles.
  • Do not question their direction! It is as simple as that. No, I am not saying to have blind faith or blind obedience.
Boyd K. Packer -Covenants
  • The point I make is simply this: there is a MORAL and SPIRITUAL side to these issues which is universally ignored.
  • The scriptures are generally positive rather than negative in their themes, and it is a mistake to assume that anything not specifically prohibited in the "letter of the law" is somehow approved of the Lord. All the Lord approves is not detailed in the scriptures neither is all that is forbidden. The Word of Wisdom, for instance, makes no specific warning against taking arsenic. Surely we don't need a revelation to tell us that!
  • The laws of God are ordained to make us happy. Happiness cannot coexist with immorality.
  • Always when these destructive life-styles are debated, "individual right of choice" is invoked as though it were the one sovereign virtue. That could e true only if there were but one of us. The rights of any individual bump up against the rights of another. And the simple truth is that we cannot be happy, nor saved, nor exalted, without one another.
  • The word tolerance is also invoked as though it overrules everything else. Tolerance may be a virtue, but it is not the commanding one. There is a difference between what one is and what one does. What one is may deserve unlimited tolerance; what one does, only a measured amount. A virtue when pressed to the extreme may turn into a vice. Unreasonable devotion to an ideal, without considering the practical application of it, ruins the ideal itself.
  • Nowhere is the right of choice defended with more vigor than with abortion. Having chosen to act, and a conception having occurred, it cannot then be unchosen. But there are still choices; always a best one.
  • Little do we realize what we have brought upon ourselves when we have allowed our children to be taught that man is only an advanced animal. We have compounded the mistake by neglecting to teach moral and spiritual values. Moral laws do not apply to animals for they have no agency. Where there is agency, where there is choice, moral laws must apply. We cannot, absolutely cannot, have it both ways.
  • When our youth are taught that they are but animals, they feel free, even compelled, to respond to every urge and impulse. We should not be so puzzled at what is happening to society. We have sown the wind, and now we inherit the whirlwind. the chickens, so the saying goes, are now coming home to roost.
  • All of us are subject to feelings and impulses. Some are worthy and some of them are not; some of them are natural and some of them are not. We are to control them, meaning we are to direct them according to the moral law.
  • Nobody is free from temptations of one kind or another. That is the test of life. That is part of our mortal probation. Temptation of some kind goes with the territory.
  • Perhaps the worst of all conditions which we can create for ourselves is to become a tempter and lead an innocent one into a life-style that is destructive.
  • He (Satan) promises emancipation and exhilaration without saying that such a course may be spiritually fatal.
  • A tempter will claim that such impulses cannot be changed and should not be resisted. Can you think of anything the adversary would rather have us believe?
  • Some have resisted temptation but never seem to be free from it. Do not yield! Cultivate the spiritual strength to resist--all of your life, if need be.
  • Some are tortured by thoughts of covenants already forsaken an sometimes think of suicide. Suicide is no solution at all. Do not even think of it. The very fact that you are so disturbed marks you as a spiritually sensitive soul for whom there is great hope.
  • The love we offer may be a tough love, but it is of the purest kind.
Thomas S. Monson -"God Be with You Till We Meet Again"
  • "Let us be valiant in our testimony of Jesus all the days of our lives."
  • "His word is one of the most valuable gifts He has given us. I urge you to recommit yourselves to a study of the scriptures. Immerse yourselves in them daily so you will have the power of the Spirit to attend you. ...Read them in your families and teach your children to love and to treasure them."
Gen. Women's Meeting
Elaine L. Jack -"These Things Are Manifested unto Us Plainly"
  • Sisters compare themselves to others.
  • For many of us, comparing ourselves to a practically perfect Latter-day Saint woman is part of how things are. While some of us are motivated and encouraged by such imagined or real-life models, others of us are disheartened and discouraged by this same ideal woman--whether she is a composite of many women, or someone of whom we have read, or even someone we know.
  • Only by living His gospel can we find what is real. We can never accurately take the measure of our lives based on social, economic, ethnic, age, marital, or physical conditions.
  • No greater heroine lives in today's world than the woman who is quietly doing her part.
  • I promised to introduce you to the typical Relief Society sister. The good news is that she actually does exist. The better news is that she is wonderful. The best news is that she's you! And this is who you really are!
  • If I could have the desire of my heart for you, it would be that you feel valued for your own goodness.
  • I know who I am, I know god's plan, and this knowledge makes all the difference.
  • We want you to live lives of spiritual maturity and fulfillment, free of unrealistic comparisons.
  • First: Build personal testimony.
  • Second: Bless the individual woman. I believe in you.
  • Third: Develop and exercise charity.
  • The challenge ahead is to become more active in meeting the real needs of the world around us--loneliness, neglect, illiteracy, homelessness.
  • Fourth: Strengthen families.
  • Fifth: Enjoy a unified sisterhood as we share our faith, our experiences, and our ideas in loving friendship.
  • Build, bless, develop and exercise, strengthen, and enjoy--these are propelling, motivating action words that invite our personal best.
Betty Jo Jepsen -Kindness--A Part of God's Plan
  • Kindness has many synonyms--love, service, charity. But I like the word kindness because it implies action. It seems like something you and I can do. Kindness can be shown in so many ways.
  • A person who is kind is sympathetic and gentle with others, is considerate of others' feelings, is courteous in his or her behavior, and has a helpful nature.
  • "Kindness pardons others' weaknesses and faults. Kindness is extended to all--to the aged and the young, to animals, to those low of station as well as the high."
  • "Kindness is ever the begetter of kindness."
  • No act of kindness is ever wasted. You cannot do a kindness too soon. Acting kindly can change the giver and the receiver for good.
  • Derek was born with serious physical handicaps. In his five years on earth, he knew little of the world of those who run, play hide-and-seek, skip rope, or feel free of pain. But he knew how he could feel better. When things were tough, when he suffered and those around him were weary and discouraged, he would hold up his arms and ask, "Let me hold you?" In his innocence, he knew he could kindly lift others--even while he endured hardship.
  • We can develop our own sort of "kindness instinct" by consciously seeking opportunities to act kindly.
  • There may be times when we excuse ourselves for unkindness because we are not feeling our best or our mood is not just right. It is easy to act kindly toward others when things are going well in our lives. But perhaps the real measure of kindness comes if we can be so when we are tired, disappointed, or suffering because of an unkind deed done to us. Are we kind when all is not well?
  • "Twas a thief said the last kind word to Christ: Christ took the kindness and forgave the theft."
  • "If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them."
Ardeth G. Kapp -"Crickets" Can Be Destroyed through Spirituality
  • I want to be sensitive to your feelings.
  • "You have been born at this time for a sacred and glorious purpose."
  • This is a glorious time to live, to be young, to face an exciting future; but it is also a very threatening and frightening time, if you are not prepared. And if you are prepared, there is no need to fear.
  • Young women, you are the tender crops of today, the promise of tomorrow.
  • The crickets of our day are different than in times past. They are powerful, more dangerous and less noticeable.
  • It's the little things that turn into big things. It's not easy to do, but the Lord will help us.
  • Parents and leaders, I am convinced that most youth will respond when they see no faltering, wavering, or weakening on our part.
  • Young women, we call upon you to increase your spirituality by living righteously. Raise your standards high, that others might follow. you are the promise of tomorrow, the hope of Israel. "Rise in might / With the sword of truth and right; / Sound the war-cry, 'Watch and pray!' / Vanquish ev'ry foe today."
Thomas S. Monson -The Lighthouse of the Lord
  • "Woman was taken out of man--not out of his feet to be trampled underfoot, but out of his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved."
  • "Men should take care not to make women weep, for God counts their tears."
  • Anxiously you ask, "Is there a way to safety? Can someone guide me? Is there an escape from threatened destruction? The answer is a resounding yes! I counsel you: Look to the lighthouse of the Lord. There is no fog so dense, no night so dark, no gale so strong, no mariner so lost but what its beacon light can rescue. It beckons through the storms of life. It calls, "This way to safety; this way to home."
  • You are at a critical time in your lives. This is a time for you not only to live righteously but also to set an example for your peers.
  • You have a heritage: Honor it.
  • You will meet sin.: Shun it.
  • You have the truth: Live it.
  • You have a testimony: Share it.

I'll be watching the leaves.

The Moving Idea

Ever have one of those random thoughts come into your head where you're like:
I should do this?
Well....I had one of those the other day.
And I told my idea to Kikay.
Funnily enough she had the same idea.

And she wanted to do that idea right away.
I had been content to wait for a bit.
But... we did it right away.

What was idea?

Our Quote Wall

We'd started it a couple of years ago when Tash was our roommate.
And it's been expanding ever since.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but this wall of quotes is longer then I am tall.
What sort of quotes do we put on this wall?
Mostly anything said by us or people around us that we find funny. :)

Anyway. I had been thinking that this wall of color was a bit much for people walking into our apartment and that we should probably move it. (Since its been there for 2 years...a change was good.)
Kikay had the similar thought and wanted to move it right away sooo we moved all those sticky notes.

To here.

This is the wall perpendicular to the previous wall.
(You can see the calender in the first picture. and the lightswitch in the second picture.)
We moved our quotes to this wall, because we wanted something to go around the calendar and its in the hallway on 'our side' of the apartment...and various other reasons that I can make up. :) lol
And this hides our 'craziness' so our visitors aren't overwhelmed by the wall of color right away. :) lol (not that the rest of the apartment isn't as crazy looking. ;) lol )
It was a fun little endeavor.
Many of our stickies are going through shock and falling to the ground, but they'll recover soon enough (with some help with the tape.)
The best part about moving our quote wall.
Is to see how long it takes people to notice that we moved it. ^^ lol
Our roommate Kah noticed we'd moved it a couple of days later.
Wham! Wall of white. :)
lol I think the plan for our now blank wall is to have another 'abstract roommate art night' with our new roommate and hang the pictures there. :)
^^ It should be fun :)
I can't wait! :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was trying to get ready for school, but I couldn't find any of my supplies. I couldn't even really remember what order my classes were in. Which was bad. I knew I had a math class, and an institute class, but I couldn't remember what the others were. So I was searching about trying to find what I needed before I left, but then chaos happened and Kikay and I were driving crazily along the highway trying to get away from the madness of some invasion speeding along the road past things that were blocking it and we were running through the school to hide from this creature again trying to make our way past roadblocks when...

The unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

A Day On The Farm

Whew.
I'm tired.
Like seriously tired.
Why?
I spent a day on the farm.
;) haha.
Okay not literally.
But I did work alot.
You see my morning started out with cleaning out the kitchen in preparation for the day.
>.< Dishes. My least favorite chore to do.
Unless there is a sprayer, then that's a lot of fun. ^^
lol But my day started out with one of our canning jars getting stuck in the drain.
^^;; heh....I had been draining the water out, and the jars moved around and one just got sucked down.
Unfortunately that jar had to be broken in order for us to finally pull it out.
:( Poor jar....it probably had some other problem >.> It would have poisoned us or something.
Soo we started out the day with one less jar, but all the others were now squeaky clean.
<.< Though we didn't use any of the jars today. :)
We emptied them.
You see. We've been drying canned fruit.
^^ Sooo Good! Its one of my new favorite snack foods.
Because canned fruit has like sugar in it.
And if its been canned for a couple of years....basically when you dry the fruit it ends up being 'candied' kinda.
Its sweet and I love it ^^
So a goodly amount of our canned nectarines were drained and placed in the air driers to make them more like fruit leather. ^^ I can't wait to eat them. ^^
And then.... we moved onto wheat.
I really don't understand why we need wheat as....bread isn't often made in our home. But we bagged and sealed a couple of dozen bags before I got the fun task of running up and down the stairs to get the bags from upstairs to the basement storage area. HEAVY!!
Okay. So I took a small break from feeling like I was 'on the farm' with my Daddoo
To playing at being a fashionesta with my Motherdearest.
Yep. We went shopping for clothes!
Who knew taking on and off clothes could be so tiring when you're trying them on to buy?
Well...it is. But the end story is that I have a new wardrobe. ^^
I'm so excited to wear my new clothes ^^
But first I returned to the farm to clean up and go shake some trees.
Yep Shake some trees.
I haven't climbed a tree in ages.
Oh man it felt so good to be back among the branches and in the sky.
lol though the branches weren't too happy to have me shaking them to pieces so we could get the almonds from the tree onto the ground and into our tummies.
I felt like I'd been through a war zone afterwards with scrapes up and down my arms. ^^;;
Still I felt so super oober cool (i like using oober recently -blame D.N. Angel episode 26 in English)
Climbing up around and over the almond trees.
You could say I felt at home. :)
I love climbing. Love it because I'm comfortable climbing.
I felt like such a monkey today clambering all over the trees ^^ lol
Finally my farm day ended with my daddoo and I shucking the almonds as the sun headed to the horizon and me enjoying the fresh tomatoes from the garden ^^ Yellow pear shaped tomatoes. Those are my favorite kinds. ^^

Whew. I'm exhausted and sore. :)
It was fun though ^^ I enjoyed working, especially when I can reap the benefits of the work ^^ Quality time with family, dried fruit, and almonds and new clothes! :) ^^

I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

There was the wicked witch from the Snow White story in her old woman form. She was trying to keep the Prince and Snow White apart but the steadfastly refused to leave each other so she eventually gave her blessing on the two and I ended up with my friend Allison in a big mansion area with tons of red. She was trying on wedding dresses for her wedding day and eventually settled on a dress that had a pinkcreamish type color to it. There were other girls trying on dresses around me, one girl with long dark hair was worried about getting the same dress as someone else as she wanted to be unique in her white and red dress. In the middle of the bustle I got a letter from Tanner -a member of Vocal Point- we were pen pals and had been exchanging letters back and forth. It was exciting to get a letter from him as I had been feeling down...

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

The Fireworks of Music

I've mentioned this a lot.
How I LOVE fireworks. (I tend to do posts on it in July)
I love them because they're like eye candy for the soul.
Super cool and bright and flashy and they just bring a moment of contentedness to me watching all those bright lights and different shapes.

Well, last night. I discovered a new source of eye candy.
>.>
<.<
Do you remember me mentioning a group called Vocal Point?
Well for like the first time ever I saw them in person! :)
-okay...so I saw them like my second year of college because my 2nd counselor in the ward was in the group and they did an FHE concert. :)
But! I hadn't seen the members that sang in the Sing Off in person.
And last night... I did for the first time! (most of them.)

Oh boy.
Those guys are AWESOME!
lol they are eye candy in the handsome category.
Though it was hard to see them since I was in the balcony waaaaaaaay in the back.
So the eye candy was more like the fireworks.
Just watching the performance.
They have such a positive, spiritual, energetic aura around them.
They're able to draw in the audience just with their voices without a problem.
It was just....oober sweet that I could spend two hours listening to them as their energy was able to give me a boost of happiness and joy.
It was a different sort of fireworks to watch these guys on stage.
lol I think I have a better understanding on why people go to concerts after this.
It's another way of getting a boost added to your day.

lol I was positively energetic -if not quite all the way okay just a little hyper- afterwards
Though still really shy.
After the concert they came out to sign stuff and talk with people...I didn't dare approach lol.
As I didn't want to fight the crowds....and it was a bit like trying to go talk to royalty.
I think I would have made a fool of myself. ^^;; heh. Because they're like the 'celebrities' of CollegeTown.

Still.
IT WAS AWESOME!
If I Could I would have gone to their performances again and again and again and again and again.
In any case they totally need to expand the show another couple of hours lol. :) I didn't want to leave when they did their encore.
*sighs*
Fireworks.
Total
Fireworks of Happiness and Joy and Peace.

Love it all. :)
Especially since they sang two of my favorite songs. ^^

Footloose

and
Higher and Higher

Love those two songs ^^
They get stuck in my head all the time. :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was in an old trailer home type place and I was discreetly making diorama's and organizing my stuffed animals into boxes when a guy that looked like a frog but kinda like Goofy's friend Pete showed up and took over the living area and the whole operation. I was trying to get away from him and ended up in the church building wearing a white Greek type dress with my brown church sandals and a red cloak. We were in training and I had special abilities but there were those who also were in training to protect us. I left the group to head outside because I had something I needed to do and one of the guys with a nod from his father followed after me. This kid named J had curly red hair, and was a kid that I didn't like and I was a bit annoyed that he was following me. I tried to loose him by going into the church closet area where people hang up their coats, but he found me. I told him I didn't need his help and that he should go back to the others, but he didn't listen. I chose to ignore him and he took the lead as we walked out the door by the nursery room. There in the parking lot were a group of warriors wearing white clothes with blue edges on them. They were our enemies though at the moment I had no quarrel with them. They just stood between me and the white van that I needed to get to. They seemed to think I had a quarrel with them and like in capture the flag they tried to come after us. J and another guy who I think I had a crush on  moved in to take them on as I slipped off my sandals and dodged to the right running to go around to everyone. Upon reaching the white van I had to unwind the bandages across my chest because within the bandages lay the key that I needed to use to basically 'save the world' J showed up and was helping me to undo the bandages as I was weak from the strain....

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Support To Get The Big Ones

There are days when I wonder where my support system is. Or who/what I consider a support system for when times get hard. I also wonder if the support is mutual or is one sided and whether or not I'm being supported more then I care for, or whether I'm supporting somebody else more then I should to the detriment of myself. Its like the story of the Oxen in the Yolk. with mutual support more weight can be born and the trials in life are easier....or as its said in the story below....

Elder Charles "Tiny" Grant, one of our fine regional representatives, shared an experience with us.
He said that some years ago while he was the football coach at Ricks College, he met a man named Hal Barton, who was famous for his love of fishing.
He was warned, however, that "although Hal knows where to find the big fish, he often goes into strong waters to find them."
Their first opportunity to go fishing together was in February as the ice was breaking up.
As they walked together up the river, Hal pointed to an island about fifty yards away and said, "Coach, that is where we will find the big ones."
The day was cold, and now they had to cross a dangerous part of the river.
The coach soon discovered that the rocks were round and slick, and the water was only inches from the top of his waders.
Since he is six feet five inches tall, that meant it was deep.
He was about to tell Hal that he was afraid he couldn't cross the water, but realized that the football coach could not admit that he was afraid.
Just then Hal said, "Coach, this is how we are going to cross the water. You take a step and get a firm footing while I hold your hand and arm steady. Then I will take a step while you stand firmly and furnish the support. We will work our way through this roiling, swift water over these slippery rocks."
With this mutual support, they crossed the river safely and caught the big ones.

-M. Russell Ballard -Purity Precedes Power -October 1990 General Conference

There will be times when it seems like the water will be too deep to cross. But with two people to find firm ground instead of one, crossing isn't as tedious and your crossing is firmer and safer and in the end you might get a bigger reward then if you'd just stayed on the bank alone. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was at an old bar at the bottom of a hill by itself in the middle of a forest with two other guys. We were all in the military and were having a lunch break. The three of us were like best friends always looking out for each other. It seemed like we were peacefully eating steak one minute and then the atmosphere got a bit tense and we ended up being under attack from above. We all broke into a run dashing into the forest though me and one of the guys- Alex I think was his name got into a jeep like vehicle and drove trying to find cover in the forest. We were bouncing around all over the place and ended up going over a cliff into the ocean. The attacks stopped but we were lost at sea drifting this way and that. One day we spotted land and struck out for it, but before we reached land we were captured by Japanese soldiers and made into POWs. They gave us two options, either we fight for them in their war, or we die. The two of us ended up fighting for the Japanese in their war against the British. We were in skeletal looking fight pilot planes -it was like we were just in the framework of the plane. We flew through the air shooting at different objects, but we got separated when I got shot down. I was captured by the British military and was basically made to work for them, but I ended up running for my life up the hill of my old elementary school and encountered an overhang of rock with blue and red stalactites beginning to form. At some point I encountered J.K. Rowling who was like the queen and she asked me if I had read any of her Harry Potter books. Long story short, I finally made it back to the states after being gone and a prisoner for years and years. I walked up the steps of the library to an area outside the ACIPP lab that had benches like those found in a church and there sitting on the benches them waiting for class to start like I was were my buddies Alex and Riley. They had survived as well. It was more of a happy reunion between me and Alex as Riley was a but distracted with the girl sitting behind him. Alex asked me how I had survived and I told him the whole sequence of events of what had happened to me. He told me a bit about his but the bell rang and we needed to go to class. I said I would see them later and I wandered away down the church hallway to the primary room. I knew my mom worked with the primary so I stuck my head in and there she was. She didn't notice me right off the bat so I tapped her on the shoulder. She turned and gave me a hug surprised to see me there. We tried to talk and catch up but the primary kids were doing a project and one of the girls didn't have a teacher to help her so one of the guy teachers told my mo that she should help. We sat down next to the short haired blonde girl and were discussing what had happened to me as we worked on a boat. My mom glanced at the refreshment table with just drinks on it and frowned saying she had sent Duane to get cookies like thirty minutes ago and that he should be back by now. Then in the windows next to us a shadow passed. My mom looked up and said "Oh there's the titanic" as a big black/white/red ship passed by the windows with its black smokestacks smoking away. I stared at the ship in surprise, but my mom clarified saying "Oh its actual name is (i can't remember the name), but I just call it the Titanic because it looks like the Titanic but at least Duane is back with the cookies now. I blinked and I was sitting in my parents bedroom originally working on a blog post where I was writing down my blog, but then I realized I'd somehow put my blogpost on a post I'd already posted about. Somehow instead of clicking 'new post' I just went into one of the older ones. I sat on my parents foot board working on a diorama project as I tried to figure out where I'd gone wrong in posting, where I was putting trees on my parents set of drawers in a small diorama sort of thing and I had a bunch of dragon toys of brown and yellow color that I was trying to incorporate into the scene by putting them on trees and such to try and make them blend in a little when I encountered another girl in my home and it looked like she was wearing my birdshell ring, though the beak was longer and more like a pelican then my dove but I didn't see how she could have a similar ring so it had to be mine until I looked at my hand and realized that I was wearing my bird ring....

A Graceful Swim

It's Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.
Soo much Sharkness. Soo much blood.
Whew.
I actually find Sharks to be fascinating while also terrifying.
I remember my first encounter with sharks...was at Sea World in Florida.
They have this Shark Tunnel there.
Where you literally go through a tunnel with the walls holding back water filled with...yes Sharks.
lol I was like 7 then and terrified to go into that dark place and be surrounded by water on all sides.
Needless to say, I held very tightly onto my daddy's hand while we walked through.
While it was dark and eerie down there...I actually found the whole experience to be thrilling.
It was cool to have sharks swimming all around me.
And afterwards I got a small shark stuffed animal because I thought they were cool.
I haven't been back to Sea World since then, but I want to return there.
There are other places that have sharks that I've been to,
but not in a tunnel where you can be surrounded on all sides.
With all those teeth. But you halfway forget those teeth, just watching the sharks as they swim gracefully by.

Save the Sharks! :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

There was a camp going on in a grassy area. And there were a bunch of girls there that had gone off elsewhere, apparently they'd been kidnapped and the kidnappers only wanted the girls of the group. One of the guys after waiting in the car for the girls to come back went after them when they didn't. He snuck in after one of the woman security guards and ducked into a washroom area. He hid in one of the stalls and hung off of the hooks on the back of the door so he wouldn't be seen if the guard came into the washroom. Which she did. She had brown hair pulled back into a harsh ponytail so all the hair hugged her scalp. She paused just outside his door and she was talking to two other women who worked there and were in other changing rooms doing cleaning chores. He was trying to stay unnoticed by all three of them, but he met their eyes a couple of times and had to break cover and run....he ran and hid under some benches in the chapel where the girls were being held, but he got caught and was changed into the Beast (from Beauty and the Beast). He was locked up in a castle designed from out of the rocks where he spent his time clambering over the pillars and moving from room to room, waiting for 'True Love's Kiss' to change him back. Years passed and a girl named Belle was walking along a fence with another person and she saw a piece of the fence (it was a wire fence) that had a barbwire gap that was wide enough for her to to slip inbetween. The other person tried to stop her from going but Belle returned a second time after crossing the fence the first time and she wandered into the 'castle' There she encountered Beast, and it was love at first sight. They had an automatic connection that they were supposed to be together and kissed while they were falling off the cliff upside down heading to the water. They found out later that they needed to do true love's kiss in order to break his spell. So Belle and Beast kissed...but nothing happened. So they tried to repeat their first kiss -falling off the cliff- but that didn't work either. Apparently the kiss had to be 'more magical' to work. Only they didn't get the chance to try anything else because Belle had been taken. Beast went through his castle to an old dilapidated house in a crevice searching for clues on how to find her and he encountered Gaston, also looking to rescue Belle. The two teamed up and went into the mansion that was a golden color searching for belle. There was a game on the wall that had a series of colored circles surrounded by silver on a track. One of the colors was a light purple color and after hitting two of the other circles they rolled off their different tracks and sent the light purple one into movement and flowed into the next room. Beast blinked and they were in the next room and there was Belle tied up on a ramp. She went down the ramp and made a jump her mouth open and I shot a laser pointer dot into her mouth that was supposed to set her free, only the game seemed to reset and we had to shoot the dots with Belle on the ramp. Beast shot a couple of the dots and was trying to get the dot into Belle's mouth when Gaston shot the purple dot. It shocked Beast because that purple dot represented Belle's heart. He turned to Gaston shouting at him. "You idiot! you just killed her!" And Gaston...was rather calm. He said. "I know." and then the master mind behind all the kidnappings showed up as Gaston stabbed Beast. He was a traitor. Belle wasn't dead as Beast had managed to fix the mistake, but now Beast was fatally injured as this menacing dark robed figure in a turban laughed and explained that he needed to get all the kingdoms to join under him and in order to do that he needed all the heiress's signatures signing the kingdom over to him. His plan was laid out like a channel guide before my eyes with flashes of different television shows, and blank areas zoomed past my vision showing how he needed to get all the different boxes under his control to rule the world. Beast couldnt' understand it, and he said that he needed Belle for true love's kiss. The evil figure laughed and said "The spell only works for those who have lips." and Beast as well a beast did not have lips to kiss. Which was why the spell didn't work. You needed to be human. Beast felt his hope fade, but he needed to save Belle and her kingdom so he considered doing the unthinkable. If he could get Belle to get close to him he could bite her and turn her into a Beast as well. And then the evil figure couldn't get her to sign away the kingdom because it would only work on human kingdoms, and Belle would no longer be human....

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

The Language of Magic

You know how each language seems to be the 'language of......'
Like Italian, French, Spanish each have their own connotations of 'what sort of language it is'
I can only think of "The Language of Love" right now lol, but I think there are other Language of _____ out there. Since every language has a connotation with it.
Well...for me.
I think my favorite language to hear is German.
It may be my Swiss heritage coming out.
But I really like hearing it spoken.
Cus to me... German is a language of Magic. :)
Why?

D.N. Angel
It's a Japanese anime show.
And in a couple of episodes, German is spoken to perform certain types of magic.

It just sounds so....magicky to me. :) ^^ So I enjoy listening to it, though I don't hear it that often.

My favorite thing said in the D.N. Angel series is like two seconds long so its hard to find a clip of just that has that.

But if you want to hear it its at 7:50-7:52 in this clip

"I want to help." (Ich möchte helfen)
^^ Its cool ^^
lol The other main German phrase in this series comes in this clip and also sounds very cool to me. :)

I think watching those two clips back in jr. high/ high school influenced me in liking the sound of the German language being spoken. :)
It just sounds magical to me. ^^
And when I'm writing I will go to the German language first when working on 'magic' related things as it looks cool and sounds cool :)

D.N. Angel is one of my favorite animes ^^
It has a variety of cool things. :) -Like German spells lol :)
If you want to check out the series, I think Youtube has them all. :)
I like them alot ^^

The Dream

I was in my parents trailblazer cleaning it out from a trip we took and I was working on rearranging my 72 hour kit so that in case an emergency arose I would be able to survive for those few days. I was organizing the shovels, and mini tents, and tarps and such in the back of the trailblazer as well as checking out the fridge back there that still had bread from our last trip which surprisingly hadn't gone moldy yet. I guess it was good bread... anyway I looked up and saw one of Meralto's friend's dad's jogging up the driveway. He was a Jamaican looking dude though with short hair instead of the long dreadlocks. I ducked down out of sight as he peered into the truck and trailblazer to see if anybody was there because I'd left the door to the truck open while I was organizing. My dad came out to see what he needed and the guy left soon afterwards. A little later I was inside with my siblings when I noticed a big truck that was jacked up pull into our driveway and then back out and park along side the road in front inbetween Riva's and Newbie's houses. At first it was a bright silver color but then looked more like hotrod type of car with suspension poles and such and it was a yellow color. Out jumped to my surprise one of the Ghost Adventure's crew. He had dark hair and a beard. It looked like Nick, though I think I might have called him Aaron. I told dad someone was coming to the door -cus I had the intention of hiding out and not having Nick see me, but then I was like 'its the dude from Ghost Adventures!' I wanted to see him up close and talk with him a bit. He came to the door with a package in hand because he was delivering something to my dad. As they were signing the different forms I got closer and talked with them both though I was very shy about talking to Nick. He was nice enough, but it got a little awkward when one of my comments enlisted a response from my dad that went along the lines of 'yah he's super rich too.' it involved money and I didn't know how to respond to that comment. Nick didn't know how to respond either. He stepped outside and I followed with everyone else as we hung outside of our dorms/campground. In a green valley with old houses/cabins around. We all heard a roaring sound and saw the Disney Plane -a big one take off into the sky and following right behind was Nick's plane...a bigger sized one then the Disney Plane, it had a bunch of extra jets and such like a rocket and as they moved upwards into the clouds Nick made his plane go supersonic basically. All these different rockets fired off speeding him past the Disney plane. What followed were a series of aerobatics between the two planes as they competed to show off to us down below. As they tried to out do each other the planes changed shape to look like flying tower mansion houses -like a long narrow tiered cake and both Disney and Nick were flying around in one. Disney's houseplane was a bit brown yellowish in color while Nick's plane was more white. They flew about in the sky doing all these different aerial tricks. Disney's home at one point flew right over us like barely a foot above our heads and did other ticks before coming in to land next to an...oak tree I suppose a couple of yards away from us (now the size of the oak tree) Nick's home in the sky seemed to pull apart into four or five distinct segments and brushed past a group of us only centimeters from hitting us as he slithered into landing as he was now in a long Chinese dragon looking roller coaster type ride. He slithered his ship into the water and pulled to a stop at the end of the ride. We went up to meet him and he had chocolate covered things for sell mixed in a lighter brown substance that actually tasted pretty good. He only had threeish items to dip in chocolate. A type of cake, some home made fried bread, and one other item. So while his aerial flight was impressive his food afterwards wasn't that impressive. He even went over to the Disney home for their chocolate covered stuff. Disney had everything you wanted to dip in chocolate from chocolate covered pretzels of mini sizes to...other things, there was so much candy there it was hard to choose. Above us in the sky was another Chinese dragon that was white like the clouds..or maybe transparent to make it hard to see. He flew down to the ground and met with three bald guys trying to disguise his dragonness with a human form. It wasn't perfect as you could still see his big green tail under the lumpy gown that he wore (kinda like the old time royalty_ An interesting thing was that when he came to land and shifted form he kinda did that 'negative photo' flash where the images are reversed in color and in that flash his tail briefly looked like a cross. The man/dragon was pleading with the three men that He didn't want to do his job anymore. He was tired of getting slapped about and blamed for everything that went wrong. The three people wouldn't hear of it and wouldn't release him from his duty. So he traveled to a prison where the Queen of Hearts awaited and offered to make her a deal. They would switch places. He would become her and live a life where he could order people about and not worry about being 'slapped about' while she could be free and have all the power and control that she wanted. They just had to hold hands and turn and he would move into the jail cell while she moved out....

When the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)
