New Lights

So apparently one of the most common customer complaints in our store.
Beyond prices.
Is that our store is...dim. 

Which, considering I come into work when it's dark outside...the store always seems pretty bright to me.

But that is a complaint that we often get. 
That the store is too dark.

We tried to fix that at the beginning of the year.
By replacing like half of the fluorescent lightbulbs that had gone out.

It worked.

For a while.

But as the year progressed....more of the bulbs burned out.

As they apparently have a rather short shelf life. XP

That or all the bulbs that weren't replaced ended up burning out after we replaced the other already burned out bulbs. *shakes head*

However.

That changed these past couple of days.

As our store got approved to have the fluorescent bulbs replaced with LED ones.

Which hopefully means that they won't burn out so quickly.
As they come with like a ten year guarantee. 

So yay!

Lol but it was so weird.

We'd only replaced half of them when I walked into work on Halloween.

The back half of the store was lit up with LEDs while the front half of the store still had the old bulbs.

It was like a night and day difference crossing between the two halfs of the store lol.

And today?

I walked in to all the lightbulbs switched out to LEDs

And wow it was bright.

Bright enough that shadows were being cast where no shadows had been cast before.

It was weird.
Bright.
But like...I didn't hate it?

It made me feel a bit more wakeful....but I'm not sure if that was the light or just being more awake in general lol.

In any case.
It's different.
with how bright the lights are now in the store.

Time will tell if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

But today was a good first impression of it.
