I adopted three fish today.
As a coworker of mine decided that she couldn't take proper care of the three goldfish she had anymore, but wanted them to go to someone she knew.
And since my tank has been pretty empty recently -as I've had a bit of a die off in there and haven't replaced most of my fish yet now that it's stable because none of the fish have gone on sale...
I said yes to accepting the three goldfish she had.
After all a 125 gallon is plenty of room for them...I would hope lol.
So that's how, towards the end of my shift today.
I ended up with three new goldfish that are all huge. lol.
At least 6-8 inches long already.
There's a One Eyed Oranda Goldfish that used to be Silver but now is pure white -I was there when she bought it.
There is also a white one eye'd comet Goldfish.
And then a "Black" Moor Goldfish that's turned Orange.
So yah.
Yay fish!
So far they seem to be doing well in my tank, the Oranda took to the larger size right away, but the other two were more hesitant to explore the entire tank lol.
I hope they do well here.
*fingers crossed*

Moving Things Around
So to continue yesterday's adventure of moving the Turtles around.
Today was the bedding change for the reptiles.
Which meant I got to move them around as well.
As again, we're trying to get all the reptiles into one endcap to show how many empty cages we have currently.
Though it was made slightly difficult because I had to account also for the reptiles we would be getting in this week as well so I couldn't totally fill up the one side when I was expecting some animals in on that side later on.
But!
I did manage to move all but like two cages over to the one side.
So that on one endcap we have like 8/10 cages empty.
As I couldn't quite get our snakes over onto the other endcap.
But I managed to move the tortoise down into the old turtle tank (after cleaning it out and resetting it up of course) and move some of our bearded dragons and Chinese water dragons into the space where the tortoise cage used to be, and then filled up a couple of empty cages that had been empty for a while there as well.
So hopefully when the Head Manager sees the setup when he's in next, he'll be happy with the result. ^^;;
I'm just happy I managed to get the bedding change done quickly enough today that I had time to reach some of my fish tank tasks as I feel like I haven't been able to do that in like a month.
So woot!

A New Water Home
So the manager wants to get rid of one of our two reptile endcaps in our store.
As we've struggled to have all the cages filled with reptiles.
It's been a year or so if not longer since we've managed that.
So the manager is looking to just go down to one endcap.
Which means we have to figure out how to get all the reptiles we do get in onto the one endcap IF it does happen.
As I usually can fill up a side and a half with reptiles.
So I have like five cages or so that I need to fit on the other endcap.
And when our DM came in.
She suggested one thing we could do was to move our Aquatic Turtles inline with our fish.
As some of our newer sister stores actually have the turtle tanks on the fishwall with the fish.
The manager loved that idea too.
And today, I had a little time to do just that.
So with some slight direction from the manager, mostly with him picking which tank to use (and move fish out and into a different location so they wouldn't be eaten by the turtles) and a turtle dock to place in the tank---I went ahead and moved the turtles to one of the fishtanks on our top row.
-As the DM mentioned that there's a higher potential for theft if the turtles are within reach of customers on the first two rows of tanks.
So a bit of moving fish, cleaning, and decorating and I was able to move the turtles into their new home!
Of course some of the coworkers weren't happy with it as we don't have a heat source or anything besides a normal light for them currently
But the turtles seem to quite like being able to swim around their new home.
As the cage on the endcap can only hold like maybe four inches of water? So it's enough to cover the turtles but they can't quite swim around.
So yah.
Hopefully the new tank setup is more to their liking though we'll have to keep an eye on them and make sure they're eating and staying healthy and such.
But I hope they'll do better in this setup where we can clean their water more easily and customers can actually see them.

Amount of Fish?
The problem with asking multiple people at my job the same question is that either a) You will get a different answer from everyone because each person has their own experience/opinion about the question or b) You get the same answer from everyone because they all go to me to get the answer.
In this case.
The situation kinda involved more of option a.
A woman and her son came into the store today to return a dead fish.
The lady didn't have a receipt though because "you looked it up last time can't you do it again?"
Which *exhales* We can look up receipts so long as you remember the right phone number but it takes less time if you have the receipt with you on your phone or on paper because then I don't have to walk all the way up to the register to find your receipt and walk all the way back...like I could have been catching fish five minutes ago if you'd only had the receipt on you.
In any case.
They were returning a dead glofish and wanted to get a replacement.
And in my search for their receipt, I noticed that they had returned fish before for this tank.
In any case.
I think the customer wanted to know how many fish she could put in the tank.
And so I asked her what size of tank she had...as that drastically influences the number of fish you can have.
To which she stated that she had like a 3 gallon tank.
And I told her that usually we would recommend only 2 or 3 fish in the tank.
She didn't like that much. "I was told SIX!" was her response along with "Everytime we come into this place a person tells us something different!"
Well....are you telling the coworker the same story? Because I don't think anyone in my department would tell you six fish for a three gallon tank....so unless you said a different size...we usually don't recommend six fish until you get at least a 10 gallon tank and even then it should be smaller fish.
In any case.
I explained that if she wanted to do water changes more often and change the filter more often then she could possible still have six fish in the tank.
However I would still recommend two or three fish.
She then pointed to the Danio tag and said "But look! It says right here that these fish can go in a three gallon tank!"
And I was like "Yah...but that's Per Fish. As in ONE fish would need a Three Gallon tank to be happy."
That made her change her tune rather quickly....I wonder if coworkers actually recommended six fish for a three gallon tank or if she just assumed so because of what she saw on the fish tag.
In any case.
She only had three danios left in the tank.
So I told her that it would be better to get her money back on the dead fish and give the tank at least a week to settle because if you keep adding in fish more fish are going to die because their stress levels keep increasing.
Though I did tell her that I would stick with two or three fish to keep the tank more stable.
Hopefully the other three do well in that tank. *fingers crossed*

Freshen Up
Despite the fact that we got like six inches of snow today.
I did a bit of 'spring' cleaning today.
Mostly because I had the energy to do it today and wanted to 'freshen up' the place to make the home feel better.
Which included trying to do a bit of cleaning in my room.
Organized my book case a bit, made the bed, did the laundry.
And it's nice.
Nice to add a bit of freshness to the house.
To see the floors freshly mopped.
To have a slightly different arrangement of knickknacks on my shelves.
To have my floor clearer even though it still has a bunch of stuff on the floor. ^^;;
It's just.
A nice different feel.
And hopefully I can continue to keep up the 'spring cleaning' for a bit and keep my room 'fresh' as I always forget how nice it feels to have a clean room. ^^;;

Time to Bloom
So the other night...I don't even know how I came to this.
But like. I looked up potential causes for tension....as a lot of my headaches are tension caused.
And just kinda wanted to see what I could change in my life to help decrease the stressors that cause me to tense up, or at least help my body remain more relaxed.
And one of the things I saw in relation to this tension/headache thing as a cause for them was:
Depression.
Which.
Kinda threw me as it was like....the first thing that came up on the list.
Depression could be causing my headaches.
Go figure.
But like overall I've felt that I've been...pretty happy?
I mean we have our good days and our bad days.
But have I been depressed?
I think the answer is....
I was.
I mean. It makes sense to be depressed after everything that Happened in November.
And depression can equal struggles in other things.
Like wanting to do things.
Struggling with writing, with keeping my room clean, with doing laundry, dishes, most household chores, caring for my fishtanks.
They all just kinda…..slid by.
I've been existing this past winter, but not always doing.
Trying to keep up a positive light.
But like....
I've probably been depressed all things considering.
And it's been noticeable how much of a depression it's been.
Because in the past weekish? As it's been warming up and occasionally been sunny enough (when it's not snowing) to go on walks outside.
That my whole attitude has been a bit brighter.
I've been wanting to do things.
I've been proactive a bit.
Like in writing in my journal for the first time in a month and a half.
Reading my scriptures for the first time in a month and a half.
I cleaned my fish tanks and replaced filter cartridges that needed to be replaced...oh probably back in January but I never 'got around' to doing them.
And like, it's kinda like....Spring really.
A time for blooming. To sprout. To grow.
Hibernation time is coming to an end and its time to be more active and do the things.
Which includes getting rid of more stressors.
So goal is to keep up on journaling and scriptures because I get stressed out if I skip a day or week....or you know a month.
Another goal is to try and get my room more cleaned and organized.
Doing laundry will probably help that a lot lol.
But also organizing my books again as I've brought a bunch back from my Mom's Library that I need to fit into my shelves.
I need to reorganize my knickknacks and decide what I want to keep out and what I should put into boxes.
Like it's basically that "spring cleaning" time of year lol.
A time to start fresh and new and just get a new energy to the place.
So here's to hoping that with the warmer weather I'll be more 'active' in my life again and able to do more and keep my life more in order and my stressors down along with the tension.
*fingers crossed* it all works out lol.
Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

Noticed?!
So there I was.
Watching the livestream of one of my Favorite Youtubers.
And they were talking about Pie because someone had asked if they would make a pie day (March 14th) related video.
And they were in the middle of explaining that they usually don't like pie --though they had become fond of apple pie recently--
When I was like "Well...what if you had a pie with Crofters"
-Which was mostly a reference to a particular series character who loves Crofters and would probably put the jam on anything.
And I hadn't expected anything after I sent in that comment.
But my favorite youtuber was watching the stream and totally gasped....and then was like "Sarnny...Sarnic...Sarnic Dirchi? What a good username! Pie with Crofters?! Now that's a plan! I like that! That sounds pretty neat! I'll have to try that. It sounds really good."
And like...I'm on cloud nine.
Seriously. That was one of the coolest moments ever!
Because I totally didn't expect them to see my comment as the comment chat goes by so fast during livestreams. But they saw it and loved my idea and said my username and said they liked my username and just AH!!!!!
I've been noticed!! lol
If only briefly.
But still.
Such a cool moment that I never expected to happen today. XD
Definitely was a highlight for sure. lol
I wonder if they'll actually try a pie with crofters....like put the jam on top or have it as a filling is my question.... lol.
Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!
