It was our first year up at the golf course fireworks without Mom.
Which was kinda hard.
Because like the golf course fireworks have been a family tradition for like my entire life.
The way we get up to the fireworks changes each year.
Some members need to be picked up from work, others can only come last minute, who comes up first to save spots also switches.
But there's constants.
The same spot for the past like ten years.
Grabbing KFC.
Sitting next to the same people.
Playing Phase 10.
And we did all those.
And it really felt just like normal times.
So Mom probably was present there in spirit, having us feel her around.
So it wasn't as hard.
Yet in many ways it still was.
Still was hard to celebrate my favorite event without here there to enjoy it too.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!
