Too Much Time

So the past weekish or so--basically since the New Year...it's been really slow at work.

Like. Customers still come into the store and everything.

But after dealing with so many people and so many needs in the weeks leading up to Christmas and the week right after Christmas.

It's crazy how well...slow it's been.

Like you get used to doing your tasks quicker because you're used to having to constantly break away from said tasks in order to help customers...that the fact that there isn't that many people around to help now....means that I've been getting opening done a lot quicker than I have in a long time.

It also doesn't help that it's taken a while to fully replenish our animal stock so like...with less animals to care for that also means less work to do in the morning because you don't have to give food/water to as many creatures or clean as many cages.

Which means that since opening has been getting done earlier...I end up having time to do those tasks that rarely get done because we end up too busy to do them.

But now.

With it being so slow.
*exhales*

I've gotten opening done and done like all the 'extra' tasks that 'rarely' get to be done like three days ago....and it's left me struggling to find ways to entertain myself for the remaining portion of my shift.

Because like, dealing with customers in the store definitely helps to pass the time...but if no one comes in to buy things....there's no distraction there either.

So yah.
I've been going crazy just trying to find things to do to pass the time at work while we spend the slow month of January recovering from Christmas before Valentine's related stuff hits.
