Today, I had the fun opportunity to help the Institute leaders....discover things about themselves.
I was voluntold to come help out (once it was known I was free) and then volunteered to take on the 'difficult' task of teaching the members the poem above to a tune in five minutes in groups of six. :)
It was "teach them a song." but the words above had no tune to it...sooo I made up my own little tune and taught it to the groups lol. :)
It was interesting to see how each group took on the problem when it was presented to them.
I told them they had five minutes to learn a song, that at least two group members had to sing the song, and that it might be recorded and shown to the institute later. (to motivate them)
lol their first concern usually was that I would only sing it to them once.
That was incorrect I'd repeat it however many times I needed to.
(but I couldn't show them the words, and they couldn't write the words down.)
The first group automatically after hearing the song assigned each member a line to remember so that everyone had something to say.
The second group started off as a group trying to remember it, then split it into parts.
The third group started out as a group as well, but also came up with little actions to go with the poem above to help them remember, before they decided to remember in parts.
and the fourth group assigned doubles. This pair remembers this line, that pair remembers that line etc.
I thought it was really fun how different each group was, what members spoke up and which ones stayed quiet, how they went about solving the problem I gave them.
I found it quite fun to teach them. :)
Sometimes they'd get distracted and ask me questions, or compliment me.
But otherwise I just had fun hearing them try to learn the song. :)
It turns out...they weren't just supposed to learn the song in a quick five minute thing.
There was a girl sitting outside our 'practice area' (the stairwell) and apparently they were supposed to help her.
But overall I was just impressed with their team work. :)

Again I see you
Sometimes I wonder why I see the people I do.
Time and time again.
Is there a purpose? a point? a reason?
Am I supposed to help them in some way...
Or are they supposed to help me?
There is this one guy...
He was in one of my classes during my first semester of college.
I would be interested...but he's not my type, plus he's married and has a kid.
But for some reason...
Basically ever semester after that, that I can remember...
I've had a class with him at some point during the week.
*shakes head*
And I really don't know why.
Why does he persist in showing up in my life?
Why do I see old classmates in different semesters?
And I can't help but think that the reason is either
a) I need to help them out in some way
or
b) they're here to help me out.
I wish I knew how I/they are supposed to be helping them/me.
Still, I guess I have to wait and see....or be more proactive and tell myself
"Lets get down to the bottom of this, why has he reappeared in my academic life?"
"What can I do, to help them out?" Is it just my presence? Do they need friendship? A studybuddy? Or is there a bigger reason then I can comprehend right now...? *shrugs* I really don't know.
I just need to tell myself that there is a reason.
There must be a reason...its happened too often to be a coincidence...
Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

Flying Under the Radar
I was institute today, and we were talking about why we were taking institute.
My reply was "Because for me Institute is the Eye of the Storm, its a place where I can relax and get away from the hectic outside world for a little bit."
That got me thinking about Radar.
And how you can fly low enough that radar can't pick you up.
Then it got me thinking....am I flying below Satan's Radar?
I mean...I hear of people having problems, issues, trials that seem really big...and sometimes deal with the repentance process.
I often think when hearing these stories. "Your time of trial is now, I wish you luck."
Which then usually follows. "Have I had my time of trial yet?"
I know I've had problems in the past...I struggled in Elementary mostly on emotional levels with relationships between friends and such.
But was that really a 'big trial' for me?
I don't know, somehow I keep thinking to myself "You ain't seen nothing yet."
I know I appear to have life pretty easy at the moment to those people observing me.
While they in turn seem to be struggling in their life path at that exact moment.
Is it because I already faced my trials when I was younger?
Or is Satan waiting to try me, for my faith to be tried at a later date.
Or....is he here already?
Is he bringing me trials that I don't see right now as stumbling blocks...but they are?
Is he flying under my radar? Is he doing his best to destroy me through little inconsequential things?
I know I often think of "trials" as some big broohahaha humdinger that will toss my world upsidedown.
But in actuality it might be the small things. Little vices I have, that prevent me from coming to my true potential? From getting closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ?
I've often wanted to think of myself as "When I wake up, Satan shivers knowing what I will do today."
But do I?
Sometimes I wonder at my "easy life" at the moment. Is he trying to lull me into a false sense of security?
Waiting for me to weaken, to relax, to feel that I can do this on my own before WHAM he springs something big on me?
Or am I untouchable? Ha. I really doubt that.
Now that I think of it...I think its the little things really that cause me to stumble.
Headaches for example might be my stumbling block. I find it really hard to work through them, to do things I had planned to do today because of these pains in my head.
Perhaps he has found that Headaches keep me down more often then not, so I get alot of them.
It might be a vice...like the Internet. I say to myself "Oh I'll just get on and check these three things then get off and do other things." but then WHAM the Internet isn't working...my schedule isn't going as planned, but instead of skipping the Internet on my daily schedule I waste away the day feverishly clicking the button in hopes that the Internet will come back on soon, but in the mean time I'll do something counter productive.
I'm working on fighting the Internet vice...it helps when homework suddenly seems more important then spending an hour or two on facebook. ;) lol.
But still the headaches are a nice way for Satan to get at me.
Perhaps this is a trial...
perhaps not...
Am I avoiding Satan's traps?
Perhaps I'm trying to lull him into a false sense of security.
But...I really don't want him to think of me as "Oh, she's not a threat to my cause."
I would prefer to be seen as a threat....but that means dealing with a less then ideal life.
Even if the events aren't as....earth shattering right now compared to others.
But I have to wonder....who is flying under who's radar?
Am I flying under Satan's? Making it so he can't see me until its too late?
Or is he flying under mine?
Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

3 Cents
I had to rebalance my checkbook today.
Because I realized that I was off by around $3.00
So it was the tedious job of going back to see what I'd bought.
To see if I added or subtracted things right.
And I found my mistake.
I had miswritten one of my totals, so that I'd given myself 3 extra cents in my account.
Just three pennies.
But since I didn't catch the mistake for a while,
due to checks and such not being cashed yet...
by the time I realized the amount of 'missing' money was up to around $3.00
So once again I realize...how often small mistakes can have bigger ramifications
then we can conceive.
Again I'm reminded how "Oh that won't effect anybody but me" is a lie.
Anyone can be affected by what you do, even the smallest things
Can have big consequences.
Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Cleanlyness
There was one part of vacation that I didn't like when I was younger.
And that was the 'cleaning the house before we leave' part.
It always seemed like such a pain to me.
"Clean the house, Clean the house so it looks nice when we get back."
I just thought it was more torture the parents wanted to eek out of us children before vaca started.
;) lol. Okay, so I just found cleaning a hassle.
But I randomly decided before I left for Christmas Break......
That I would clean up my bedroom, like the days of old,
So that I would come back to a nice clean apartment.
I had basically forgotten that I'd done so,
but coming back today.
To a clean place
To a clean bedroom.
It was...relaxing lol. :) Knowing that I didn't have to clean anything right away...
It felt nice.
...until I messed it up...since it was Christmas break...
I ended up bringing back more things then I left with.
Which means I have to somewhat untidy my room
In order to get everything new in its place. :)
But it was nice to come in to a clean living area while it lasted :) lol.

First Word
I have been wondering today...if the first word we says...
represents us as a person in general.
I'm not sure for those who say Mama or Dadda, if the idea works for them...it might, idk maybe it defines who they think is important....idk
but for those who say something different as their first word...if that word becomes part of their life...
Take for example.....myself. :)
My first word was:
Hi.
Yep. :) It was Hi. :)
Am I not such a friendly person? :P lol.
But actually I think its kind of true.
If anyone comes into the room I automatically say "Hi *soandso*"
Even if they're constantly walking in and out...I will say Hi to them again and again...
well almost every time they come into the room.
Its the word I go to use when there is nothing to say.
Hi so and so.
Hi.
Hi
Hi.
Sometimes I'll mix it up.
Lo-Hi (Hello)
Ollo (used because Megamind said it.)
Otherwise I just like to say Hi :)
What does that say about me I wonder....
that I like saying Hi?
Or that I am generally a friendly person.
*shrugs*
Who knows...but I do think that the first word we say....says something about us....
Why did we decide that that was the word we wanted to speak.
What was situation happened to make us think to ourselves "I want to say this word...Now!" lol.
What was your first word? What do you think it says about you??
Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

Happily Ever After
There is one think that kind of bugs me about Disney Movies...
The guys are basically there to be looked at.
They're cardboard. No desires except to get the girl.
The only movie offhand that I can think of, where you get more of a personality from the guy
Is Aladdin,
I think that might be the reason why for the longest time Aladdin was my favorite movie.
Because you didn't get some sappy princess story about a girl sighing after her true love.
They randomly meet....he falls for her rather quickly...like most movies.
But you get more of the guy's personality in the movie. :)
They're just not some handsome statue coming to rescue the girl at the opportune moment.
Perhaps that is why I like Beauty and the Beast as well. :)
The Beast...even though i don't like how he looks in human form...
seems to have more thoughts in his head. Personality and such then "Kiss the Girl."
Maybe The Little Mermaid is that way as well....with Prince Eric....who knows.
hmmmm >.< I don't think I really have much of an argument here....
I guess I'm thinking more of the typical Disney movies.
Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty in particular because their princes...
are just there. lol.
No background on them....just them showing up to save the girl.
*shrugs*
I think I've just managed to confuse myself on why I didn't like the princes in Disney Movies...
lol. Oh well. I'll figure it out eventually :)
After the prince slays the dragon and such. :)
Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!
