Upon the Shelf

So yesterday I was sitting in a High School Graduation.
Not participating...
Just spectatoring.
And ceremonies seemed to be going rather long....
It's strange how when you're not participating in the events that they take forever...
but when you are in the events...time seems to fly by.
Anywho.
I was randomly struck during one of the speeches, with a line...
inspired by something the speaker said.
And from that line...I wrote on my note pad app a short poem.
It's rough, but I thought I'd share it here for kicks and giggles.

I lay in wait upon the shelf.
Waiting for a hand,
To pick me up and dust me off
So I can make my stand.
To show my world,
My point of view,
A different type of thought for you.
But alas, I wait upon the shelf
Closed and bound.

The Dream

I was desperately trying to finish writing my bit of story for writing group, but I kept getting distracted. There was a computer program I was helping my brother Meralto to complete that involved the stars and I had to shout out a number to him, but there were so many different whizzing numbers running across the screen that he got frustrated with me really quickly because i wasn't shouting out the right number. And all the while I was trying to avoid a person, and get my story done secretly so Patrick wouldn't find out....

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Swim Away Crocodile

I've gone to the mall three times in the last week....
Its almost like I've joined the world of girls.
Going to the mall. Buying stuff.

Only...most mall goers go to the mall to get...well you know. Clothes.
It's always boggled my mind that malls are basically one big clothes store.
How is it possible that there can be like twenty different stores, all filled with clothes?
All expensive.
All similar...but different.
*shakes head*
I don't quite get it.

I wish the malls would get more stores that were unique.
That didn't have clothes. I would probably hang out there more often.

lol.
But I've gone to the mall!
Specifically....
>.>
The Disney store.

So much funness there.
lol.

Just being in that store, seeing the different toys everytime, the different sales.
I can understand why girls like shopping.
just not why they like shopping for clothes lol.

But you see...
There is a secret behind my Disney store visits.
Because they have these TVs that play Disney stuff...
and there is this one song.
That I've come to like.
It's catchy.
Fun.
And totally for the little kids. lol
But I love it anyway. :)

What is it?
It's called:
Roll Up The Map

It's quite catchy isn't it? :)
lol its been stuck in my head for the past couple of days.
And it brings a smile to my face ^^

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was with my Grandpa...who resembled the grandpa from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we were in my backyard, with some wild cats. Cheetahs. My grandpa was taming them, they wouldn't hurt him. But suddenly, they attacked. The Germans were attacking...cats..Germans...something had taken the offense and my grandpa and his old military friend went into action. my siblings, myself and the two old guys jumped into a car and we went speeding along the different highways. Every now and then we'd pass a green colored highway. Those were military highways that lead to their bases, civilians couldn't go there. We turned onto one of the bases, near a river in a canyon, pausing on an outpost on the highway. We...climbed out of the safety hatch...which was the size of a key hole. -I tried to go back in, but I couldn't fit, and it was boggling to think i could come out, but not come in a key hole sized hole. But anyway. My grandfather and his friend put their keys into a panel on the hatch and at the same time, turned the their keys making a clicking sound. I waited anxiously to see what what would happen...but there was no sign.
Finally I asked....what had happened.
And they said, that they destroyed the remains of Sputnik. Which, with how they worded, it sounded like the remains of a nuclear weapon that had been restored/rescued and kept secret. But if we were being attacked....it needed to be destroyed. So they dumped it into the river...and somehow that destroyed it.
We left the area heading to a green area, with a fountain....the fountain of youth. The military had coordined it off, so that only the military personal could access it. There were tourists around complaining that they wanted to get closer. But the forces weren't allowing it.
Because our grandfather used to be part of the army, we were allowed to get closer.
We talked about taking it...drinking from the fountain of youth.
But something happened...
my grandfather was exposed to the fountain, but it went wrong.
He wasn't given youth, but only an extra eight hours to live. He lay motionless on the ground and we feared he was dead, but we had to leave to flee....

when the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Dust on the Journey

Have you ever seen clouds of dust moving along side the road?
Not only on dirt roads.
But along highway roads?

The past couple of times I've driven along the freeway...highway? whatever.
I've seen clouds of dust moving along the emergency lane next to the concrete barriers.
I knew it was windy outside, and that there were many a construction type thing happening along this roadway, so there was good reason to see the dust.
It was just different. It seemed thicker. And it made noise when it hit our car.

But staring at that rolling dust reminded me of another time I saw a rolling dust cloud traveling along the ground.
I was with my family and we were returning from a visit to the spiral jetty.
We were driving along the dirt roads when the wind kicked up the dust sending it traveling along the road next to us.

It was like... a ghostly procession.
A memory of pioneers traveling along the plains, making use of the dirt roads already there.
We traveled side by side until they took the left fork and we took the right.

Driving along the highway with that much more smaller version of a dust cloud.
It felt almost similar.
A procession of ghosts using the roads to make their way to their own destination.

Until you next read these words.
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

Beauty and the Beast were living in their castle....which looked alot like my home church. They were happily soon to be married. But Prince Eric was still holding a flame for Belle. He was trying to convince her that he was the better man to wed her then beast ever could be. Belle was running around trying to get all the wedding plans in order and make dinner of spaghetti and garlic bread. While beast...who occasionally looked like beast, but also looked like a human but with a purple blue blotch on his nose and on the right side of his face. tried to prove who was the best. Belle found them when they were trying to prove who was the better ruler...that was done by having them lift their pointer finger as vertical as they could with the palm of their hands parallel to the ground. The one who could lift their finger higher was the better ruler. Belle jumped in to participate but they laughed her away, she wasn't royal enough. Fuming she left to eat dinner by herself while Eric and Beast tried to win their kingdoms by lifting both pointer fingers as high as they could go.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away...
and I became myself again. :)

Night Time Whisker Drama

Have you ever just sat outside and watched events happen?
At night?
Boy...it sure seems like my home neighborhood is active.
Cars driving every which way passing by our house.
I suppose that's because everybody is getting back from the holiday weekend now that I think on it.
But that general observation of cars passing by every now and then...
Was just background noise to the events happening in my yard.

You see...
My dog....discovered Dove's Kitten.
Dove's kitten?
Huh?
Dove...has a kitten?
Well yes. ^^
Dove is a black cat that I tamed....like six years ago.
We named her after the dove chocolate and not the bird :P
She was the runt of a litter of eight  I tamed while in high school.
(I've probably mentioned her before. :))
And it wasn't eight of the same litter I suppose.
But two litters of four that the mother was nursing at the same time.
She was and still is pretty small compared to her litter mates...
as well as to her kittens.
I would guess that she's about as long as a football.
And her kittens when they become adults, dwarf her.
She's so tiny ^^
And cute.
And an awesome mother.
As awesome as a mother can be when raising kittens in the outside world.
It hasn't been easy for her, but she persists.

Well...this evening...I got distracted.
In one of those. "must stay outside" distracted things.
You see my dog Pepper....was barking up a storm outside my window.
And I couldn't see why she would be over in that corner of the yard.
Sooo I went to investigate.
There in the corner of the yard.
Was a cute little black and white kitten ^^

I FOUND IT!!!!
Well...Pepper found it!
I had known for like a month that Dove had a kitten around, but I had been unable to find it.
She doesn't always keep them in our yard.
And I'd been unsuccessful...
but tonight.
I think Dove brought her kitten up to the front yard.
I think she may be trying to wean it, since we feed her and Drifter in the front yard.

Sooo much fun and its soo cute!
I had to do a bit of juggling, convincing Dove I wasn't a big evil attacker, getting the dogs away, making sure Drifter didn't attack the kitten either.
Whew.
Exhausting.
But I was finally able to just sit down and watch her with her kitten.
As they wandered about through the roses, concrete, grass, and cacti.
The kitten is soo cute!! ^^
I was content to watch them.
Drifter was content to stay near me.
And the kitten was content to stay near the fence.
As Dove wandered back and forth between us eating food.
But then...out of the night.
This creepy demon looking black and white face appeared!
Right next to where the little kitten was!
What was it?
Another cat.
It's possibly Jag....he's a kitten I tamed four...ish years ago. He was in the litter before Drifter.
But I haven't seen him in forever...not since like two years ago...possibly three.
The markings look the same from what I remember.
And...unfortunately if it is Jag...he's gone completely wild. :(
He appeared though!
Skittish as anything.
Looking to get some of the cat food.
He disappeared from sight.
Then Drifter took off hoping the fence and disappearing into the backyard.
Just as Jag appeared from the other side coming through the rose bushes.
That cat can sure be sneaky.
I was worried. Jag showed up as the kitten and Dove were in plain sight!
But no worries...it seemed like he was only after food and he left after eating, showing very little interest in the furball nearby me.
I thought for sure there was going to be a fight with the kitten caught up in the middle of it.

Whew.
Drama.
Who knew so much could happen in a cat's life?
Older brother. Older older brother. Kitten. Mother.
All very territorial.
All wanting food.
All wanting to survive.
It was intense.

And then I happened to look up and see this creepy looking yellow white spider on the chair next to me and Whooosh!
I was back inside away from the creepy crawlies.
Luckily I only noticed the spider after the drama was over. lol.
I wish I could stay outside all night just to watch more of it.
And watch the kitten move about.
Because I probably won't see it in the morning. :(
*sighs*
At least I was able to see the darling fuzzball once.
^^
Sooo cute!!

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

G.A. Ground Rules

()_()
()_()
()_()
()_()

Okay....I really think I need to establish some ground rules when watching Ghost Adventures on TV.
Because that show is really really addicting.
But can become really really terrifying.
I think the most creepy thing about that show...is when they reenact events that happen.
As well as the creepy music they play when things happen.
Oh, and some of the things the ghostys say....or things that happen..yah that can be creepy.

So ground rules.

Rule Number 1.
Always watch G.A. with a buddy. Especially after dark.

Rule Number 2.
If there is no buddy to watch G.A. with....watch it when it's light outside.

Rule Number 3.
Watch funny TV shows afterwards to dispel creepy factor. (at least 2 hours worth after dark.)

Rule Number 4.
Do NOT WATCH G.A. in the Creepy Home Basement when you've always considered to have ghosts hanging out down there as well.

Rule Number 5.
Do Not Download Ghost App for Itouch when by yourself or in said basement or in the dark.

Rule Number 6
Only Use Ghost App during the day when you're with other people, not in the basement.

Rule Number 7
Watching G.A. late at night by yourself is fine if you're super tired and will fall asleep anyway even after watching it because you don't care anymore.

Rule Number 8
Do not watch G.A. near dark/after dark...when it's windy outside....because the power will go out.

Rule Number 9.
When the power goes out.....yah....basically expect to have a sleepless night if you're forced to go to bed earlier then normal.

Rule Number 10.
Do not watch G.A. in old houses. Old houses have their own ghosts....who are probably attracted to G.A. as well and will be more active during/after watching G.A. The atmosphere in the house changes.

lol I think I'm going to come back to this post and update it whenever I think of new rules.....
(I will post in other posts when I do.)
Because I'm not going to stop watching G.A.
....well at least not until I see all the episodes.
And probably not after that....because it's so fascinating to hear the ghostys speak.

Ghost Adventures.
Addicting.
Need to watch only during the day.
With other people.
And fall asleep surrounded by White Ninjas.
Ready to protect me from any ghostly personages that are nearby.
Happy 18th Birthday to my Ghost Adventure Buddy, Meralto! :D
Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream.....
well...as you can expect...after breaking most of the rules stated above....that I didn't really sleep last night lol. I dozed off...and did dream...most of those involved things happening in relation to being creeped out by ghosts. Ghostly things happening. Family reacting. Just being creeped out in general by ghostly hauntings. Yah.....going to bed when you're not sleepy because the power went out.....and soon after watching G.A.....means not sleeping. Just being creeped out while dozing at all the sounds your house makes and creating your own fantasies while in dozing mode.

Distracted Surprise!!!!

Distractions.
Purposeful Distractions.
Are super fun to do. :)

Especially when you have an ulterior motive for distracting the individual.

Yesterday I was a distraction ^^
lol.
You see, we were doing a surprise birthday cake party celebration thing.
Only....the surpriseee showed up earlier then expected.
We weren't ready.

I had to run around like made hiding everything.
(The Cake, and presents)
Managing to stuff the last present into hiding just as the surpriseee showed up.
*heart pounding AAHHHHHHness!*

So, I was like.
Okay everything is hidden....
now what?

of course!
Distraction!! :D
What did I do?
I asked the surprisee.
"Hey do you want to continue reading my story?"
Yes. yes. they did.
And so.
I kept them distracted with that for about twenty minutes.
The last five or so we had to move because my laptop was giving me the warning of 'i'm about to die!!' sign.
So I moved to a spot where the surprisee couldn't see what was happening behind her.
But I noticed the window reflected the candles of the cake.
Especially when they turned off all the lights.
-The surprisee wasn't too suspicious of that....we usually turn off the lights in preparation for a movie that we always do at the F.A. on Friday nights.
But I still had to distract her from the yellow candle light reflecting in the window.
So I turned on my Ipod and had her listen to it turning to me.

And walla!
Surprise! :D haha

Ooh we were so sneaky sneaky. :D
lol it's fun to be sneaky sneaky as well.
Doing things in such a manner that the person won't be suspcious.
Like asking questions to get an idea of what sort of things/presents the individual would like.

^^ It's super fun to be the distraction to keep the person distracted from what we don't want them to know about. ^^ Love it. alot.

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Where All Your Dreams Come True

Disney.
Disney.
Diiisssnnneeeeeyyyyy.
So, yesterday I totally went to the Disney Store at the nearby mall.
Boy, did that bring back memories.
Of when we were little and Mom would take us to the Disney store for her lunch break when we went into work with her. And then....we could buy Disney toys!! :D
I always got Disney stuffed animals ^^
Love the stuffed animals ^^ Sooo cute!!

Anyway....I went in there again....
You know to be random, and see if i could get a random present for a birthday....you know...that's today.

Oh man.

My eyes were like this the whole time.
()_() SHINY!! GASP! AH!!! AWWW!!! OOOOO!!!! ()_()
Haha that place is like  goldmine.
A goldmine literally because that stuff is rather expensive.
Ooh Disney, if only your toys weren't sooo pricey.
Bu then again....
It's a good thing they are lol.
Because I would have come home with a like a gazillion different things I really really don't need.
I mean...
They have these Disney character barbie doll figures.
That were only eight dollars.
heh...only eight dollars.
But it was COOL!
Why?!
Well...they had the typical princess dolls, but they also had the princes! They Had Triton! Genie! Ursula! That witchmother lady from Tangled! Oh man....Oh man. ()_()
lol the Ursula one caught my attention...because she's like the first bad guy villain ever! ;)
They were super cool!
And they have a bunch of tangled stuff, Tinkerbell stuff, as well as toys dealing with the new Brave movie.
:D
Apparently....
It looks like the three brothers become three bears. I had guess that from the trailers though lol. Yet the toys totally insinuate that it's true.

And now...I'm thinking of Goldilocks.
You think the brave movie is a twist on Goldilocks?
She has red hair. Goldilocks had well...gold hair. but both had three bears! lol
I still don't know what that movie is totally about.... but I'm intrigued.

Anyway...off of side track.
Disney store!
Lots of cool things...like marvel things.
But they still don't have any Loki related things....
Why do bad guys not get their own toys as well?
Ursula got one!

And then! The creme da la creme!

Stuffed animals!
Sooo many Disney stuffed animals :D
lol that is one of my favorite things about the Disney store...
they're always getting in different Disney characters.
So nothing stays around forever.
I saw lion king stuff. They HAD ZAZU!!
And I saw MUSHU!
Soo many other cool Disney characters as well!! ^^
Like.... LADY AND THE TRAMP!!
OH man they had them cutified!
Tramp was sooo soft.
It was soo hard not to buy him right away haha :)
I already have a lady and tramp set somewhere at home.
But those two....ooo perhaps I'll have to go back.....
>.>
Sooo soft.

lol anyway...there was so much going on at the Disney store that I was like:
@_@
totally dizzy and overwhelmed man!
So I had to leave.
But I went back today.
lol i was a bit more in control this time around.
However I love the atmosphere in the Disney store.
So bright.
so fun.
So much random musical/bits of movie pieces on the tv screens.
lol I could stay there for a long time.
Like I stay in stores a long time when I dither about what to buy people.
But I wasn't dithering.
I was just entertained by what I found and what was on those TV screens.
It was like the White Ninja land of happiness!! :3
Happy 18th Birthday Mirleki!!!
Until you next read these word;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Happy 600th Post!! As well as 5454 Pageviews! That's just cool :)

The Dream

Have you ever seen the beginning of "The Island" movie? Well...this was somewhat similar. We were living in an underground concrete world. Prisoners to some army captain like guy. We lived surrounded by concrete, working...like in a factory. no windows. miles underground. But one day, I discovered an elevator along with another person or two that took us to the surface world basically like being shot from a cannon on air pressure. We emerged from a concrete looking box and were amazed at all the greenery. The trees of a forest, we were in the mountains with long grasses. It was beautiful. It was so odd from what I knew, yet I knew that I had lived up here before, before an unfortunate day when I'd ...fallen down the hole or been captured by guards from below looking for more people. We were amazed. Like children exploring having fun running around in the trees and such....until our absence was discovered. We were taken back down below again, back to the concrete rooms a group of us. And told that there was going to be a severe punishment for disobey the laws and doing what wasn't supposed to be done. The drill captain main guy was furious. And said we could only have one thing. So I grabbed my scriptures and tried to stuff a bunch of small inch size stuffed animals of my sister's into the bag so I could have those as well as comfort for me as well as my sister.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Moving Teeth

I'm beginning to wonder...
if I clench my teeth during the night in an odd way.
In such a manner that my teeth slightly move.
And then when I try to close my mouth normally...it doesn't feel normal.

Because that's how it's felt for the past weekish lol.
It seems like whenever I wake up in the morning...my teeth don't sit the same way upon each other as they did the night before.
It could be I'm just being extra sensitive and paranoid to my teeth since I've been having problems with them....
but I do wonder.
During the night. Do my teeth move around or something?
Do they have parties, go visit each other and then rush back into position when I start to wake?
lol I must wake rather quickly.
Because I think some teeth are a bit slow to get back into position.
Hence...I wake up and feel like my teeth have changed their position slightly enough to bug me and make me wonder....are my teeth moving around?

I hope not....that would make it difficult to keep them all happy.

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was in a big warehouse store area, trying to hide from something...and there were these bookshelves. And it became basically my quest to reorganize the bookshelves...to get all the books to fit, but also make room for some fairies who wanted to live there as well. It was difficult and I felt time was running short, I had other things I needed to go do....

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Sequel Prequel Info Surprise

"Sarnic just knows everything."

Haha....not quite.
Where did this comment come from?
Well....from me actually knowing information nobody else did. ^^;;

What happened?
Well...I was hanging out with some Institute Council buddies.
For a Wednesday Movie Night. With Pina Coladas! :) Nummy goodness
Anywho.
The movie of the night was....
Monsters Inc.

Near the end of the movie a couple of the boys commented,
that they should make a Monsters Inc sequel.

My response?
They are...but it's a prequel.

Everyone turned to me.
Wha?

Yah. They're making a prequel called Monster University that will come out in the next year or two. It basically focuses on how Mike and Sully meet.

Oooooh.

Then a bit later. One of the guys commented.
They should make a movie where Boo is all grown up with her own children....
and they get trapped in the monster world.

I leaned over to the guy next to me.
-Because I wasn't going to try and shout over everyone.
And said.
That was the original plan for the sequel. Boo would be all grown up with kids of her own and she designs toys, which look a lot like mike, sully and other creatures and she ends up in the monster world again possibly.

lol I can't remember the rest, I looked up the information in high school.

lol the other were like ()_() How do you know all this?!

And my response....
was... "Because I stalk things."
Haha...not the greatest thing to say. I was trying to think of something nicer to say then 'obsess.'
I don't think stalk was that great of an option lol.

And that was when the line was said. "Because Sarnic knows everything."

Yah...I don't know everything.
but as I've mentioned before....I can get obsessive about things.
I can get curious about things.
And so....I go to my friends of Google, Imdb, and Wikipedia to look up stuff.

And at some point while I was in high school.
I got 'curious' about pixar films. And plans for the future. If there were any sequels and the like.
Because Pixar was cool!! and still is cool! the films they make are amazing!

lol and so, I discovered that there were plans for a sequel with Boo grown up.
and a couple years later, I discovered plans for a prequel instead of a sequel.
Somehow the information stayed in my head.
And walla.

Sarnic appears to know everything ;) haha.
Nope. Just some good old curiosity being put to work. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

We had captured Loki and he was being prepared for transport back to Asgard in my neighbors living room. He was standing in a square box being covered by tarps like an origami project. Where they would take one corner, fold it around him. Take another corner, fold it around him a different way. Each time the tent covering him got smaller and lower to the ground.
Unbeknownst to the folders. Loki had a plan. To escape. Soon enough they realized...that the prison transport thing had been folded too small to fit Loki.
They opened it...and saw nothing.
Loki had escaped!
He'd shape shifted into a small white dog (looking like a white Dalmatian/Labrador/nospots) and escaped through a trap flip door the transport had been placed on.
Now we had to catch him.
I ran from the house, but had to turn back to drop off a...bazooka and some arrows in a black and red quiver that was six or so feet long before I ran after the white dog Loki trying to catch him...though at some point I became a beagle, and I was trying to help him....

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away...
and I became myself again. :)

Emotionally Isolated

I'm an individual who doesn't mind being alone....
but I do like being around other people as well.
Yet there are few times...when I feel like I want to shut myself off completely from contact with people.
Today....and a bit of yesterday....has been like that.
I just wanted to shut my door, lock it up with padlocks and chains, bar my windows, and leave all electronic devices in the other room.
Isolated.

...It's not a fun feeling.

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

Passing Around the Lock

It's always an adventure when I venture into the Institute.
Something usually happens there.
Usually not what I was expecting :) lol.
Today...I ran into Brother CS.
Okay I didn't run into him, I went by to visit him.
and he had this Itouch that looked rather beaten up.
A cracked screen, pieces of the main part missing.
But he was trying to figure out how to find out who it belonged to so he could return it.
Only problem?
It was locked.
And obviously he didn't know the passcode to get into it.
So the search to figure out who the owner was...seemed like a dead end.
But...it was an Itouch.
I have an Itouch.
I haven't locked mine.
But I do know a couple of tricks to get into the ipod without unlocking it.
Okay...like one. lol
you see if you press the...button on the bottom twice.
You can have a couple of things come up.
One of the things are the music buttons. Play, go back, go forward.
But there is also a camera that comes up as well.
And if you hit the camera button...you can access the camera and the pictures it holds.
Thinking on it now...I bet at that point I could have hit cancel and gotten into the rest of the ipod.
I can do that with my own Itouch, but as the other one was locked...idk.
Anyway,
Looking through this person's pictures...
It reminded me of that conference talk given a couple of conferences ago.
It was by Elder Cook. And talked about some adult leaders who found a purse left after a dance, and how the contents of the purse told a lot about the girl.
Well...looking at the pictures, it was a similar thought.
What could we tell from this person from the pictures they took?
It was fun :)
I hope Brother CS finds the owner.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Eclipse of the Sun

A quiet calm seemed to pass through us as we stared towards the west.
West to the setting sun.
West to where the new moon, was passing over the sun.

Yes. I was watching an Eclipse today :D
And it was...different then I expected :)

Because...I was expecting to see this:
And I did see that....in my brother's camcorder.
It looked a little like this:

But with my own camera on my Ipod.
I saw this when I put the glasses over the camera

lol if you look really close at it, you can see a black dot in the center of the 'sun'
That's the best one I got.
Haha :D
Ah, Cameras....they just can't replace our eyes.
Cus I mean...It was awesome!
Golden!
Sun!
Black in the middle!
and a golden ring around it!

No dice on my camera. :) Others got better pictures.

And I was surprised at the Eclipse.
I expected the sky to go all dark, to have the sun 'go out' to be able to just see a ring around the sun.
It did get darker.
Yet, when I snapped an 'unprotected' picture of the sun...I got this:

Yah....Not like the first couple of pictures at all lol :)
The sun was just as bright....
Well I mean it felt like the sun was setting a bit earlier.
But you can't even tell there is a moon blocking out
EVERYTHING but a RING.
Nope. Not at all.
It was amazing. Most of the sun blocked out.
And yet there was so much light.
How cool is our sun!
Very Very Very cool!

lol I just wish I got a better 'eclipse' picture myself.
Still...I discovered....that when I point the camera at the sun just right.
I got this:

You see the blue dot near the top right corner?
That's the Eclipse!!
In a reflectatory I don't quite understand how I got that type of picture fashion :)
You see the main sun. That's what the camera saw.
But the blue dot...that's also what the camera saw.
It's blue.
And tiny.
But it's basically what I was seeing through my glasses...except I was staring at the sun...and not seeing a blue dot. haha :)
So I did take a picture of the eclipse!
Just in a secondary manner lol :)
All in all.
The whole thing was super cool!! ^^
I'm glad my family and I were able to go down south to see it :)
It was such a calm and peaceful experience.
It seemed like the world had four minutes of silence while the moon covered the majority of the sun.
And slowly stirred to wakefulness again as the moon began to leave the sun.
Awesome.
Just.
Awesome!

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I had been doing something else before this point in my dream...involving people, running around...trying to get things done...
but then my family and I were on the road, driving...yadda yadda, it was dark and I glanced at the clock and it said 10:04pm
I blinked. Checked again.
Nope it was right.
Then my mom was like ()_()
WE MISSED THE ECLIPSE!!!
And we were all like:
?!?!?!!?!!?!?!?!?!?! WHA?!!?!?!?! NO!!!
How could we have missed this?!!?
All I remember was that we were sitting down for dinner at Sizzler.....
and now we were driving.
What did we do in between dinner and sizzler that made us forget the Eclipse!
That was the whole reason why we drove down.
And it was too late >.<
Mom vaguely remembered glancing outside to the sun thinking that it would be starting soon....
but we missed it!
Now we were driving through darkness in redrock area with all it's red sandstone tower people....
And my dad was....soo disappointed. It was heartbreaking.
He'd been looking forward to this. It had been on his bucket list.
And he'd missed it.
I wanted to make him happy, so I got out my laptop and started googling when the next eclipse was....

When the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

The Couple and Me

Do you ever find yourself with two other people that are a couple?
Which means that technically.... you're the third wheel? If you remain in their presence?
For some....this may be an awkward situation to be in.
I've been in the situation where it does turn somewhat awkward.
But most of the time, I find myself pretty comfortable hanging with a couple.
lol, I think it's because....they're a couple.
That means I can just be a friend.
Or on occasion a chaperon.
I don't have to worry about...well... making a good impression for the couple.
Especially the guy lol.
I guess I feel like I can be more like myself with them.
Not that I can't be myself with a group of people.
But I suppose it's more work. With a group of people there you're aware that someone could be watching you. What you do, what you say, judging you.
With a couple...they're a bit more focused on each other. lol.
Needless to say...
I feel more comfortable hanging around couples when I'm with others.
lol they seem to do fun random stuff as well :)
And it's fun to hear about their adventures.
lol perhaps I connect better with couples...because I feel they're....on my level of maturity?
hmmm.....probably not haha :) I guess it depends on what stage of the relationship they are in....yah. The maturity feeling usually comes with those couples who are engaged or married.
Because well...they're going to the next level of life.
Hmmm I'll have to think on this more.
The thought just came to my mind as I hung out with a friend and his girlfriend today. :)
It could have been awkward, and yet it wasn't. :)
I had fun with them, and I wish we could have spent a bit more time together doing something crazy. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

An Early Morning Helpful Deed

Guys...
I love doing random things. :D
Especially if it helps someone else out and/or brightens their day :D
Because then it brightens my day too. ^^

So what random thing did I do today?
Well....
Over at TMtP they had blogged last night,
that something was going to be happening on TV this morning in my area.
And they wanted somebody if they were willing to get up that early,
to video taped what happened. lol and that we'd know it when we saw it on TV
Well....I didn't wake up on time.
That's what happens when you try to wake up earlier then normal...and after only three or four hours of sleep.
No, I woke up when there was only 15 minutes to go.
:( Sadness.
But I figured....I would try anyway!
I turned on the TV to see if anything would happen in the last 15 minutes.
Well it did! ^^
Remix  was singing! They were advertising their Remix Vocal Academy :D
So I recorded it!
And after nearly an hour of tense staring at my computer screen waiting for the video to load
I had it! :D
I sent the email to TMtP telling them where they could find the video.
And walla!
.....nothing happened aaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllll day long.
I wasn't too worried though.
(Okay I was paranoid that the video hadn't gone through....that the address was wrong or something...)
But I knew the blog posts...usually showed up near evening time. Sometimes earlier most of the time eveningish.
And it did!
And I got 48,000 TMtP points! (like Who's Line is it Anyway...the points don't matter haha )
So now... totally I have 107,010 points :D hehe ^^ Soo exciting.
I have no idea why.
I guess it's like a gold star.
Good job! Gold star for you!
Except it's now "Good Job! X#ofpoints For you!"
Plus they mentioned me by name on their blog and their newest spin off blog! :)

You can read that here:
http://totallymissingthepoint.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/thats-called-a-remix-wait-whats-called-a-remix/

and here: (They posted the video I took here. hehe yah for being helpful!!)
http://thatscalledaremix.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/rise-and-shine-its-remix-time/

I'm glad I can be so easily entertained/ made happy.
After all it's small things that make a person's day most days. ^^

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

A Chip of Blessings

Sometimes I think things happen for a reason.

A while ago, I mentioned that my ring finger had been hurt playing spoons, and that the finger nail...had become worse looking then it was before...because I'd cut the nail too short...and the white part of the nail just...went weird.
Before the spoons accident...I had been praying that somehow my finger would look better. After all it was my ring finger. :) i wanted it to look pretty.
Things happen for a reason, you see...even though my finger looked worse for a couple of months...after the nail had grown out of the damage the spoons thing had caused...the nail actually looked better ^^ basically normal. :D lol it was an answer to my prayer ^^ The answer didn't happen immediately, but on the Lord's time it did happen ^^

Now...another concern I've had...has been my teeth.
They've been feeling...odd. Not normal for the past few months.
Because I got a cavity or two fixed.
But it's hard to judge when your mouth is numb if the bite is correct.
And so began a saga of trying to make the mouth feel normal.
At first the filling on the left side of my mouth was too high.
We fixed that....but I had had a problem with another tooth...
Number 4. It decided to be difficult...by having some decay....
it had a hole in it, and if I had waited too long...I would have needed a root canal if the decay had gone any deeper, but luckily I was inspired (through the pain in my mouth when eating.) to go get it checked out. And it was fixed. :D No root canal needed.
However...something felt off.
Again. My bite felt basically normal.
But it seemed like Number 4...would have too much pressure put on it when I would chew on something harder.
Pressure in such a way that I felt like I was going to break my tooth. That it was loose even though the tooth was steady. :S Not fun.
I wasn't sure if it was part of having the tooth fixed though...because I got sick soon afterwards. And I figured it might be something to do with my sinuses.
Still...no relief, and finally I dropped by the dentist to make an appointment. Because the pressure was bugging me, but the tooth was beginning to feel cold sensitive again so I was worried something had happened to the filling and that another cavity was forming, or something had been missed.
In any case, I made an appointment for today.
I had been praying off and on that my teeth would be fine.
And yesterday while flossing....
I...guess I flossed to well?
I'm not sure what happened.
I'd noticed a tooth 19? I think it was. That I was having difficulty getting floss in between.
I didn't think about it much.
But last night...flossing that part of my mouth...I felt something give. Found a piece of hard white...tooth or filling I couldn't tell. And saw a small chip in that tooth....I had gotten that filled recently as well...after a piece of that tooth/filling broke away a few months ago.
I closed my mouth after examining it...and surprisingly my mouth felt a bit more relief.
It hadn't been feeling the best the past couple of days, like everything was getting worse.
But this..brought relief. Not enough to relieve the pressure number 4 was feeling...but I felt like my mouth wasn't crooked anymore. :D
And this morning...well it was afternoon.
This afternoon I went to the dentist. To tell him my problem.
And he said. "It sounds like there might be a tinsy area that's too high."
O.O Tinsy....a Tinsy area? Tiny?! No. No this must be huge! What else could cause my mouth so much grief and pain?!!?
But he took the drill to my mouth as well as that papery stuff that shows where the mouth is biting and how the teeth are aligning. And went to work. Smoothing out the filling on number four and a little on number five as well as the tooth below number four..or on the bottom of my mouth that had also had a filling done at some point and then to the other side as well as we worked out where the pressure on my teeth was. It had felt almost good...to the point where I wasn't quite sure if it was feeling 'normal' or not. So he went ahead and fixed the chip in my tooth saying that this might have contributed to the pressure and that it had broken off because of that. He fixed the tooth, smoothed it out. I closed my mouth.
Oh relief!
It feels normal!
Well...he jabbed at my gums a bit so those are sore. But the pressure on number 4 was gone! Everything feels normal again. :D
It was so exciting! Is so exciting!

Yay for blessings! I'm not sure if my mouth would have felt normal if my tooth hadn't chipped. ^^ So out of every problem...there is a ray of sunshine filled with happiness that will follow :D

Until you next see these words:
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was Harry Potter, young like 19...it was my birthday and I had just defeated the Dark Lord. I was in my house with friends in my bedroom...the area was dark...filled with hanging crystals and such, and one such crystal...balloon like thing showed the face of Dumbledore. I knew he was dead, but he was talking to me. I walked down the steps of my house in Gryffindor Hollow showing him around. And he glanced out the window. "Looks like your parents got you something." he remarked. It was my birthday and I knew I had presents in the next room over. I looked outside and saw a car in a driveway, blue in color, and two...motorcycles I think they were sitting on a trailer elsewhere. I dismissed it thinking. My parents wouldn't give me a car. But just then they walked into the room and my dad said "turn around." I turned around and my eyes fell on this tan truck. Shining and new. It was for me! I was surprised. I hadn't noticed it before. But apparently my dad had bought the thing from the neighbor a couple of days ago. So the car was mine!

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Scents of Memory

I've been watching a few Ghost related shows recently.
I've already mentioned Ghost Adventures :D
lol but today there was a marathon on for Ghost Hunters as well...
I like the former more then the later. More happens in the former.
But in one of those shows...they mentioned that ghosts, when trying to make their presence known sometimes use scents to do that because smells can trigger memories.

Well...I've actually been thinking about smells for the past week or so.
Not because ghosts are around.
But because they've been triggering memories.
For example yesterday...I went out to KFC with friends for a....Linner I suppose.
I got crispy strips, a biscuit, and a half of a corn cob.
And for some reason when I unwrapped the tinfoil from the corn....
And smelt its corn smell.
Memories of when my family would go to Antelope Island on Sundays bringing along our KFC meals to enjoy the Salt Lake, and the beach, and the rocks, and the hiking...everything....came to me.
I could smell the salt air and almost feel the breeze from that windy island.
It was weird.
Considering that recently our KFC eats have mostly been focused around the Golf Course Fireworks and not Antelope Island.
But I enjoyed the memory. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

My green car had ended up somehow parked at my jr high/ church building....on the staircase outside..somehow fitting between the railings. I was trying to figure out how to get my car out of there....and ended up picking up the red jeep like it weighed like nothing and moving it back to the road. I turned and there for me...I had won this...van/suburban Nissan? type car. It was bright red and it could fit three people in the front seat -A Mom, Dad, and a toddler girl with blonde hair. And in the back seat it could fit five people in the same row. Me and four others. I sat on the end seat behind the passenger chair. We were driving along...leaving something...going to something...

When the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

April 1990 Conference Sunday Afternoon

It seems like tonight is a good night to again do some highlights from conference talks I've been reading. :)
Here are things I marked in the talks given in the April 1990 Sunday Afternoon Conference.

Dallin H. Oaks -World Peace
-Peace is more than the absence of war.
-The peace the gospel brings is not just the absence of war. It is the opposite of war. Gospel peace is the opposite of any conflict, armed or unarmed. It is the opposite of national or ethnic hostilities, of civil or family strife.
-"Peace will come and be maintained only through the triumph of the principles of peace, and by the consequent subjection of the enemies of peace, which are hatred, envy, ill-gotten gain, the exercise of unrighteous dominion of men. Yielding to these evils brings misery to the individual, unhappiness to the home, war among nations."
-"If he walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments,... I will give peace in the land, ... neither shall the sword go through your land."
     -Peace is a victim everywhere.
-War and conflict are the result of wickedness; peace is the product of righteousness.
-Democracy does not ensure peace. When a nation is governed according to the voice of its people, its actions will mirror the righteousness or wickedness of its people.
-That makes me responsible for the peace of the world, and makes you individually responsible for the peace of the world. The responsibility cannot be shifted to someone else.
-People who continue to hate one another after a war will have another war, whereas the victor and vanquished who forgive one another will share peace and prosperity.
-The most powerful workers for peace may be faithful mothers and fathers.
-Persons who seek to reduce human suffering and persons who work to promote understanding among different peoples are also important workers for peace.
-That kind of person "will not have a mind to injure one another, but to live peaceably' with all people.

Richard G. Scott -Finding the Way Back
-The purpose of this message is to help many of you find the life you want, not the one you are living.
-I need not define your specific problem to help you overcome it. It doesn't matter what it is. If it violates the commandments of the Lord, it comes from Satan, and the Lord can overcome all of Satan's influence through your application of righteous principles.
-Any lasting improvement must come from your own determination to change.
-If it were possible to make your road very easy, you wouldn't grow in strength. If you were always forgiven for every mistake without effort on your part, you would never receive the blessings of repentance. If everything were done for you, you wouldn't learn how to work, or gain self-confidence, or acquire the power to change.
-If you've tangled your ordered life into a ball of knots, it has taken time to get it that way. It is unreasonable to expect to unravel it all at once. Start knot by knot, decision by decision, and be sure that while you are untying the knots, you don't let any more get put there through transgression.
-You are caging the tiger that has controlled your life. It will shake the bars, growl, threaten, and cause you some disturbance.
-When, through violation of God's laws, you cease to function properly, force and compulsion will not restore you. You must search out the Designer's plan. As you follow it, you will become more pliable. you can be "repaired" more easily, and you will function well again under His divine influence.
-It can be cut short through decisive personal commitment to clean up your life, now. Right now. Once that decision is made, there follow many individual decisions and acts, none of which is overpowering. Yet, taken together, they will kill the monster that's controlling your life.
-A rudder won't control a drifting boat; it must be underway. Similarly, you need to be moving forward to gain control of your life.
-When you decide to change and then discover that there is a way to cheat on your promise without anyone knowing, don't do it.
-To reach a goal you have never before attained, you must do things you have never before done.
-Don't confront your problem armed with only your own experience, understanding, and strength. Count on the infinite power of the Lord by deciding now to be obedient to His teachings.
-If loved ones seem to ignore you, it is because they don't know what to do. Their past attempts to help have been rejected; you have not wanted help. Reach out to them trustingly.
-I wish I could replace your doubt with my certainty, but I can't give it to you. I can provide an invitation: Please, decide now to repent and change your life. I promise you, in the name of the Lord, that He will help you. He will be there in every time of need. He gave His life so that you can change your life. I promise you, that you'll feel His love, strength, and support. Trust Him completely. He is not going to make any mistakes. He knows what He is doing. Please, decide now to change your life. Be obedient to His teachings, and He will bless you. I promise you He will bless you, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Barbara W. Winder -Instruments to Accomplish His Purposes
-In spite of these unsettled feelings, at the conclusion of the training meeting, I felt an excitement difficult to describe.

Elaine L. Jack -"I Will Go and Do"
-In my prayers each day I give thanks for the influence of many good people around me.
      -This is a joyous gospel!

Horacio A. Tenorio -Teachings of a Loving Father
-Our Heavenly Father loves us dearly and watches over us in all our needs and cares, following us through life step by step.
-But not having Him with us does not mean that He has left us alone.
     -We are not alone.
-In fact, those which teach u the most are those which are the most difficult challenges or trials for us as individuals. This is when, if we are susceptible to the Spirit and have faith,, we can see the hand of God reaching out personally to each of his children.
-Problems form an important part of our lives. They are placed in our path for us to overcome them, not to be overcome by them. We must master them, not let them master us. Every time we overcome a challenge, we grow in experience, in self-assuredness, and in faith.
-If we understand the importance of the obstacles in our individual lives, we begin to see them in a positive light as true challenges to overcome.
-"Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me."
-Verily, verily, i say unto you, if you desire a further witness, cast your mind upon the night that you cried unto me in your heart, that you might know concerning the truth of these things.

Merlin R. Lybbert -A Latter-day Samaritan
-There are many of God's children who are wounded or sick in spirit.... and if they're not physically sick or injured, often we just walk by 'on the other side."
-"An enterprising turkey gathered the flock together and, following instructions and demonstrations, taught them how to fly. All afternoon they enjoyed soaring and flying and the thrill of seeing new vistas. After the meeting, all of the turkeys walked home."

H. Burke Peterson -Preparing the Heart
-Simply stated, he told his sons if they would pursue the course and gain a testimony of the divinity of the Lord, Jesus Christ, there would be no test or trial come to them in life that they could not conquer.
-We do not, however, have the capacity to force matters of the heart.
-We cannot force love and respect and admiration.
-We cannot force faith and testimony of truth.
-Even those we cannot force are things that matter most, there are ways we can help one another. That is, we can prepare hearts.
-Look for the good in each person, and mention it in a sincere and consistent way. It is amazing how hearts can be softened, testimonies implanted, and relationships improved when we begin to give a daily portion of heartfelt appreciation.
-By the way, it may take you all day to find something, but it is there.
-Criticism is a destroyer of self-worth and esteem. It is demeaning and cutting.
-Listening is a part of showing love.

James E. Faust -Gratitude As a Saving Principle
-One of the advantages of having lived a long time is that you can often remember when you had it worse.
-Such sacrifice becomes your heritage also, for it is the inheritance of a people who have faults and imperfections but have a great nobility of purpose.
-I acknowledge with great gratitude the peace and contentment we can find for ourselves in the spiritual cocoons of our homes, our sacrament meetings, and our holy temples. In these peaceful environments, our souls are rested. We have the feeling of having come home.
-Social protocol is observed in many places, but the expression of kindness is universally appropriate.
-It seems as though there is a tug-of-war between opposing character traits that leaves no voids in our souls. As gratitude is absent or disappears, rebellion often enters and fills the vacuum. I do not speak of rebellion against civil oppression. I refer to rebellion against moral cleanliness, beauty, decency, honesty, reverence, and respect for parental authority.
-A grateful heart is a beginning of greatness.
     -"Use it or lose it."
     -"Think to thank"

Gordon B. Hinckley -"Sacred Resolves"
-"He asked forgiveness for His tormentors and then willingly gave up his life."
-"In the minds of his stunned followers over and over echoed some of his last words,'...be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

The Next Three Talks were in given in a Member Finances Fireside, included in the April 1990 Conference.

Boyd K. Packer -Teach Them Correct Principles
-We should not, according to the scriptures, need to be commanded in all things.
-Most of the deciding must be left to you.
-Nothing essential will be lost; rather, essential things will be rediscovered, be found!
-Those resourceful souls will have cause to repent once they understand the spirit of the decision. Those clever practices will soon fade as you learn the purpose for it all.
-Sometimes more can be less, and sometimes less is more.
-Meetings and activities can multiply until they take "strength unto themselves" at the expense of the gospel--of true worship.
-This is a difficult balance because some families need more support than others. Perhaps we have been over-programming stable families to meet the needs of those with problems. We must seek a better way.
-It is a course correction; it is an inspired move.

Thomas S. Monson -The Lord's Way
-Open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing.
-"This thing was not done in a corner."
-To measure the goodness of life by its delights and pleasures is to apply a false standard. The abundant life does not consist of a glut of luxury. It does not make itself content with commercially produced pleasure, mistaking it for joy and happiness.
-To find real happiness, we must seek for it in a focus outside ourselves.
-The same moon, the same stars shine forth from the heavens from hilltops close to home as the ones which shine over the Himalayas.
-Each youth had determined to be a pioneer--even one who goes before, showing others the way to follow.
-Then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday.

Gordon B. Hinckley -Rise to a Larger Vision of the Work
-There may have been a few murmurings, but the faith of the people overrode all of these. They gave generously, notwithstanding the stresses of their own circumstances, and the Lord blessed them in a remarkable way.
-We have strengthened our base at home in a very substantial way, while at the same time planting and nurturing this work in a hundred nations across the earth.
-Great is the trust, tremendous is the responsibility.
-We may be as free as we wish with our own funds, but not with the Lord's.
-It should be recognized that this church is not a social club. This is the kingdom of God in the earth.
-Now, brethren and sisters, I invite you to look beyond the narrow boundaries of your own wards and rise to the larger vision of this, the work of God.

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was with my family on vacation, but also with extended family Aunt L, Aunt G, Uncle K and Uncle B as well as my grandparents I think were with my family on this vacation. We were walking along  path in a forest that also had some rock areas as well. At one point Aunt L, and Uncle B stopped to sit in a pool of water I think it was a hot spring. They were enjoying it and said that we could join them, I think Aunt G did join them as they waited for some show to start. I didn't stay, I wanted to continue onward, and I think my family followed me...

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)
