Dust on the Journey

Have you ever seen clouds of dust moving along side the road?
Not only on dirt roads.
But along highway roads?

The past couple of times I've driven along the freeway...highway? whatever.
I've seen clouds of dust moving along the emergency lane next to the concrete barriers.
I knew it was windy outside, and that there were many a construction type thing happening along this roadway, so there was good reason to see the dust.
It was just different. It seemed thicker. And it made noise when it hit our car.

But staring at that rolling dust reminded me of another time I saw a rolling dust cloud traveling along the ground.
I was with my family and we were returning from a visit to the spiral jetty.
We were driving along the dirt roads when the wind kicked up the dust sending it traveling along the road next to us.

It was like... a ghostly procession.
A memory of pioneers traveling along the plains, making use of the dirt roads already there.
We traveled side by side until they took the left fork and we took the right.

Driving along the highway with that much more smaller version of a dust cloud.
It felt almost similar.
A procession of ghosts using the roads to make their way to their own destination.

Until you next read these words.
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

Beauty and the Beast were living in their castle....which looked alot like my home church. They were happily soon to be married. But Prince Eric was still holding a flame for Belle. He was trying to convince her that he was the better man to wed her then beast ever could be. Belle was running around trying to get all the wedding plans in order and make dinner of spaghetti and garlic bread. While beast...who occasionally looked like beast, but also looked like a human but with a purple blue blotch on his nose and on the right side of his face. tried to prove who was the best. Belle found them when they were trying to prove who was the better ruler...that was done by having them lift their pointer finger as vertical as they could with the palm of their hands parallel to the ground. The one who could lift their finger higher was the better ruler. Belle jumped in to participate but they laughed her away, she wasn't royal enough. Fuming she left to eat dinner by herself while Eric and Beast tried to win their kingdoms by lifting both pointer fingers as high as they could go.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away...
and I became myself again. :)
