A Natural Christmas

I have neglected one of my favorite Christmas songs.
-I know you're thinking. "No! Christmas is over! No more songs!"
But this is actually one I listen to on my Ipod all year around.
Soo It doesn't have to be Christmas! So there. :P ;) lol
But I figured I would share it today, the last day of the year.

Why?

This song has been a favorite of mine since I was little.
I never heard it on the radio. It was just one of those CDs my Dad would put in when I was younger.
And I would love to listen to it and I looked forward to Christmas every year because I could listen to this song to my hearts content all month long. It was especially cool when our furniture was rearranged to fit the Christmas tree(s) and there would be new little alcoves and hiding spots in the front room. I remember hiding in those spots listening to this song. Or else I would just be sitting in the semi-darkness with the glow of the tree lights as my company. Then I would listen to this song....

But unfortunately Youtube has failed me and even Itunes does not have the CD containing the song.
So it resides in my Ipod. And on the CD case in the living room.

Its name?
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by NorthSound.

NorthSound has music similar to that of Mannheim Steamroller. Meaning that the songs are just music. No lyrics. (except in rare cases with Mannheim)
NorthSound takes Christmas songs, and adds in the sounds of nature. Birds calling, water trickling. Things like that.
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is my favorite...
because it contains the sounds of wolves.
And the way the music is played this song sounds like a hunt is a foot!
Its a thrilling beat of music that gets my heart pumping when I hear the wolves's howl.

It is Awesome!
Yet...I can't find it on the Internet to show you. :( So I cannot share it. :(
But if you can find it. This Awesome song is found in NorthSound's 1992 Album -A Natural Christmas.

Happy Hunting!

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was in some sort of cargo hold with three others.
We were...searching for something, hiding from our parents.
But then we heard them coming, so we tried to hide behind a pile of junk covered in cloth.
But it wasn't big enough to hid us all so Kikay, me and the other had bits of us in plain view.
Kikay held up a pillow to try and cover me, but as the door opened she slowly dropped it.
I thought that was stupid. It showed movement and would direct the attention to us.
But they didn't see us.
Why?
We'd covered ourselves in dragon blood...
So it looked like some big battle had taken place.
And we basically became invisible.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away...
and I became myself again. :)

Agates

Have you ever gone rock hunting?
You know...for rocks?
It was rather common for my family to pick up rocks. Whenever we went camping, or out searching for particular stones. Whether from the desert floor, a mountain stream, or a gem store... my family likes to collect rocks.
But right now I'm thinking about Agates.
They're stones that come in a variety of shapes and sizes, colors and hues hence their name I suppose. Particuarly I'm thinking about the ones that are reddish purple in color with white blotches in them.

Why am I focused on rocks?
Well....
Do you remember a month ago?
When I posted a post about my injured ring finger?
The one that I hurt in the game of spoons?
Yah....well... as an Update:
It doesn't hurt anymore.
:) yay! :)
However, the nail...is starting to turn pretty colors.
You want to see?

Here you go.

Look at all the pretty colors! ;) lol
Okay...so my camera can't do the actual thing justice.
Its a similar story to when I tried to take a picture of my black eye a while back.
But there you go.
Starting from the tip of the nail.
That swash of offwhite color...is the part that was jerked up by the spoons.
It tisn't very pretty...but it seems to be permanent since the width of this offwhite color doesn't grow any less. :(
But then there is the bright white part.
That showed up within the past couple of weeks or so.
Slowly appearing from under the skin as the nail grows.
Followed by a purply red color.
Each day the white and purple get closer to the off white color.
I wonder what will happen when the two sides will meet.
But in the middle my normal nail color is slowly disapearing between the two forces of bright white and off white.
I'm not sure what will happen with this finger.
But right now...I stare at it....
and think of Agates. :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was outside, I remembered that my dad wanted me to give the turkey bones to the cats. And I saw them, but only two of the three. I figured though that the third would show up when I brought out the meat. I think all three showed up, but then there was a male tomcat, and a bunch of kittens were with it. Trying to eat the food as well.
I was in a house...musuem...mansion place. I was exploring inside of it. There were tons of hidden rooms, random staircases and I found my way through a hidden curtain into what looked to be a big theatre area. But it also seemed to be a gym area.
But I was trying to avoid all the other people that suddenly seemed to be filling up the house. So I hoped onto the stage area and found my way about that via different staircases.
But then, danger approached. A man...twenties or thirties. Wearing a baseball hat. He didn't like what was going on and he had a gun. Shooting it about to get what he wanted.
My grandfater, taller and thinner, but still old was with me, I told him to wait here and I went and found the other side of the stage. I crouched down there and pressed some buttons...I think I was creating annoying music. He found me and shot at me threatening to hurt me if I did that again. I moved away out of his sight into another room with a fireplace. My grandpa followed me and the man seemed to be after the both of us. I think my grandpa did something to get him mad at us. I was trying to find another room to escape to and pressed on the side of the green fireplace. And it pushed back. A secret passage! My grandpa found one on the other side and pushed it and we crawled inside.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Museum = Kids?

You know....
When I think of Museums,
I think of them as being stuffy places.
With lots of artifacts.
Lots of writing that involves names, information, and background.
A few older people to explore.
Maybe a class field trip...

But when I think of a Museum...
I never.
Think of it being inundated with young children.
Never.

O.O
*twitch twitch*
O.o
Soo. Many. Children.
Soo. Many. tiny people!

Today I went to the Dinosaur Museum down by the Point of the Mountain.
I haven't been there in like four years.
My first time was just after I had moved away from home for my first year of college.
I had gotten a couple of free tickets to go see the museum. So we used them that day. My family and I.
Today...we had no free tickets.
But My dad and I along with some extended family -The Floridians went to go explore its massive interior.
So we went to the Museum.
And there....
it seemed like all the young parents in the state.
Had decided to bring their kids to the museum as well.

()_()
There must have been like a zillion of them running around.
The exhibits were literally shaking from how much jumping, running, and screaming that was taking place there.

lol I never pictured a museum as a place to take kids.
But apparently this dinosaur museum is a popular destination.
And I can see why. Lots of things you can touch and  do and play with are within this museum.
So...today....when school wasn't in session, and the parents needed to get the kids out of the house...
They all came flooding to the museum.

:) All was not lost though ^^ I ran into my old Sunday School Teachers ^^ That was cool. :D

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Thirdsies

"HEY SARNIC!"
I try not to cringe as the voice called behind me.
The way my neighbors voice sounded, it sounded like I had been caught taking cookies from the cookie jar. I had the strong desire to say "I didn't do it!"
I had only gone outside to figure out what the neighbors dogs were barking at. They were barking like mad and it was driving me crazy. Soo I went to see what was the matter. The neighbor dogs had been barking at one of the stray cats I had tamed. -Drifter. (So named because he would always drift away from his mother to me.) I called to Drifter and convinced him to come back to my house for cuddling.
I dropped by the mailbox and picked up the mail as well. And I had just entered the gate leading up to my front door pausing to pet Drifter, Eclipse and Dove (all cats) when I heard Cinsch's voice.
Feeling like I was about to be reprimanded I turned and called out "Yah?"
lol soo original.
Then she said the most wonderful words my ears could ever ear.
"I have an extra cheeseball, you want it?"
I could scarce believe it. Another?
My face must have lit up because I was smiling from ear to ear as I said "YES!!!"
"Hold on I'll be back." Cinsch said with a smile.
And soon.
I had it.

A THIRD Cheeseball!!
YAHOOOOO!!!! ^^
Its soo yummy yummy in my tummy tummy tummy!

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves!

Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I woke up.
Looked at my clock and saw that it said 9:47am
I couldn't believe it.
That couldn't be the time.
For that would mean I was late.
Really late for school.
I got up and dashed out of bed.
Calling myself an idiot for not having remembered to set my alarm.
It was Monday.
And I realized.... Crap. I had an institute meeting this morning!
So I was SUPER late. I knew I didn't have an 8am class, but my anatomy class was at 9....so I had basically missed two things today.
I was halfway crossing the parking lot headed towards the library and up the short flight of steps when I realized....
That semester was over.
I didn't have Anatomy anymore.
But that meant that this was a NEW semester.
And I had no idea what time my new classes were at!
So there on the steps I tried to remember my schedule.
I figured I had a 10am class.
I remember looking at a screen...and seeing I had a class on TWR and though it was odd...
But then something happened and the church meeting was over. I got up out of the pew and went outside the chapel and spotted my friend Jessica. I wanted to talk to her. So I followed her outside and to the bus stop.
I asked where she was going and she said Home.
I said "I was going to walk with you home but I don't have a bus pass"
Jessica said some statement...that didn't fully make sense to me dealing with getting a bus pass but she didn't seem willing to walk home. But i asked anyway and we ended up walking towards my house.
We reached Crowley's house which in the dream was a two apartment style type of house.
And Bryce was there and Jessica ran up the steps and said "Thanks for walking me home, I'll see you later!" and shut the door right after Bryce.
I kinda just stood there dumbfounded thinking "that's not Jessica's house...I thought we were walking to my house so that I could pick up the car and drop her off at her house..."
A moment later the door opened and an embarrassed Jessica came out.
Muttering that she'd been confused and we continued on our journey.
Then I was in a rock castle type of place.
Trying to escape though I recognized the area...and recognized that I had had at least this part of the dream before.
I was a slave that was trying to escape the wrath of the evil witch woman.
She was in a bad mood, trying to get us to do our work faster.
The work...involved stones....mining or something...building?
And me and a bunch of cohorts were trying to make our way through the various open passageways towards the outside and to freedom.
The witch almost caught me a couple of times but I managed to get away.
However she came back from her errand sooner then expected. I jumped into a pit and crouched down hoping that she wouldn't see me. The other people scattered as well.
We had to be careful. She would see us if we moved.
But there was a girl behind me with short brown hair...she reminded me of Katie's sister. and she was more exposed then I was.
Something happened.
Rocks were being thrown everywhere.
I was throwing rocks at the woman trying to hit her but accidentally ended up hitting the girl instead so I stopped. But then it became a rock war with rocks being hurled everywhere...
and those things bounced.
I almost got hit as I ran to try and find a way out. I managed to duck away in time though.
i spotted a door that lead to the outside. It was guarded and I reached for the handle to push it open to reveal the sunshine on the other side.

When the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

A First Writer

Patience.
Determination.
and Stubbornness.
That is what can get me through a book...that isn't much to my liking.

Not that the current series isn't to my liking,
but that its not to the liking of others.

For Christmas I received books. :D
Yay!
One of those books was Inheritance. (I have no idea if this is the last book in Paolini's series or not)
And as is custom for me when I get a new book in a series....
I reread the previous books so I know who everyone is, get to read favorite scenes of mine, and know what the situation is like when I finally start the newest book.
So, yesterday I spent the day reading Eragon, today Eldest. Most likely I will start Brisinger tomorrow and get to Inheritance the day after tomorrow.

Now...I've had alot of friends complain about this series.
I think part of it was from the bad hack job the movie Eragon made of the first book.
But a few of my friends mentioned that they found it hard to reread Eragon again.
They just couldn't get into it the second time.

I can understand the sentiments. As good as Terry Brook's Shannara series are...I couldn't get through a reread of those books. Perhaps I'll try again in a couple of years lol. :)

I hadn't read Eragon since the 3rd book came out 4 years ago while I was in High School.
So it had been a while.
But still...I remembered the book being pretty good.
Others....disagreed. But they had tried to read the book more recently then I.

Still Stubbornly I decided to re read the books.
After all....I do like to remember what is going on.
And I could see why others found it hard to reread.

I think most of it was....the flowery descriptions. There was too much detail.
It didn't bother me much.
lol
I read the Wheel of Time series. And I love having detail. :)
but I could see that where the detail was put in was a bit....like being hit in the head with a hammer. It was a bit much too soon.
Personally I feel that its good to not describe everyone to the fullest extent when you first meet them. Especially if alot of new characters are being introduced.
Its better to stick with a key feature. A prominent scar, a hooked nose, something that differentiates that person from another.

Others have complained that this series is similar to Star Wars.
Sure...say that. Don't most authors get their ideas from other Authors?
I'm not aware of any law that says authors can't use similar elements to other authors.
(I never got into Star Wars *gasp* So I don't really care. The movie reminded me more of Star Wars then the books do. The Master concept is about the only 'similar' concept I see...)

Anyway...I reread Eragon in a day.
And I have to say...
Its a beginning book.
Not just the first in the series.
But its the 'first book' a person writes.
That doesn't meant that the story is bad.
Contrary I still enjoyed reading the book.
It just meant that....there could have been room for improvement.
Having written a bit myself and critiqued other writers.
I can say that many beginning writers...try to put in too much description and detail too soon. They try to put as much 'background' in the beginning of the story as possible.
Which bogs down the story and makes the first few chapters hard to get through.
I did the same thing myself. I wanted too much information to be shown in the first couple of chapters.
It took me a couple of rewrites to realize. "Hey! I don't have to say ALL of this here."
It was a exhilarating feeling, and I still have to stop myself every now and then and say "Wait...does this need to be known now....or can it wait? Can it be said simpler?"
Things like that.

Another element that shows its a beginning story is the 'play by play'
-I don't like play by play when the stuff is not battles.
Basically the writer tries to account for every single aspect of the day from waking up to going to sleep, while trying to make it look like a lot of days are passing. In Eragon they were the 'Journey' scenes.
And they seemed to me to be....well...trying to get from point A to point B. Epic stuff happens at A and B, but in between...there's bits of this and that.
I haven't tried to write any 'journey scenes' yet. So I'm not sure how to get through this obstacle of point A and point B....others have managed to do the journey scenes without it being tedious. Again Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books has great examples of this. His characters are always journeying from some place to another place, but it never was tedious to have to read about the travel.
I think its because RJ avoids play by play elements.

-Play by play elements can be seen if the word "Then" shows up alot. That usually shows that the author has gone into step by step process instead of....well not doing that.
And I saw alot of Thens.

Speaking of Showing....another element of a beginning writer is:
They Tell the story. They don't show the story. Phrases like "started, and decided" mean that the author is telling what their character is doing, when it could be made to flow more if the author went more into the character's thoughts.
Like a friend of mine from a writer's group said. "If they're always starting something...do they ever finish it?"
lol. We don't just sit around and think. "Huh. I'm going to go start the fire...now I'm walking over...bending down...lighting a match...and I started a fire!" its more like "I grabbed the match and with a little difficulty lit the stupid fire burning my thumb thrice in the process."
I still have a little bit of trouble with this as well in my own writing. I'm trying to avoid 'telling'

So...Eragon was a beginning book.
I think with a bit more patience, a bit of editing, and some rewriting to get rid of the 'excess fat' the book could have turned out far better.

But it wasn't a bad book.
It has an awesome concept.
And I like it enough that I'll probably reread it in the furture...at some point.

No...there were only a couple of things that bugged me about this book.
1. Almost every character gets philosophical and wise and gives very deep advice at some point. Which..in my opinion makes it hard to tell characters apart. Their identities aren't clear, and I have to wonder "Why do you need to say this here now and in this way when this persons character would have said it better in this way based on what I've read of their personality." I find long explanations wordy and a bit pointless...the reader gets lost especially if its too philosophical or too much like a travel guide.
2. Stop. Having. The. Boys. Cry. If the main character was a girl...sure I could see them crying and such...but....having the main guy character...wake up and cry in mourning, or fall asleep crying...No...it doesn't work for me. (and yet, I'm pretty sure that I'm doing that in my own story hmmm) If there is meaning behind it. I'll believe that the guy would cry....but because the story mostly told things...and didn't delve into thinking or conversations...it was hard for me to believe that he would cry.

Otherwise....I think Eragon is a good book. It has its flaws. But what book doesn't? That's what revisions are for. What good critiquers are for.
And besides. I see improvement in the writing style of the author. So its worth sludging through the first book to get to the rest of them.
Chris Heimerdinger's first Tennis Shoes book was the same way. The first book told more of a story through memories, while the rest of his books take place in the moment. The books do get better.

Soo its worth it to read Eragon again for me. There are still awesome elements in Paolini's story that inspires me to create other stories based off of a concept I find in his books.
I like them. :) ;) and all their description.

So for those readers out there who are inspired to write.
Write.
Tell the story that is meant to be told through your hands.
But....do revisions. (don't get stuck in revisions though.) Let others read your work. Let people critique your work.
And...keep writing. Write more stories.
My sister Kikay says that a person should write at least three books...to get the hang of writing. It was on her third book that she finally found the 'writing groove' and things meshed much easier.

I don't know....lol. My advice....don't get caught in revisions...and at times you need to step back from the narrow field of writing the story...and see why its not working. But...getting stuck in revisions...really stinks and the first 3 chapters end up being the most hated because their the most reworked to try and make them work better.

I know from experience...and I'm finally glad to be free from those 3 chapters. I know from critiques that I need to go back and fix a couple of snags. But for now...I'm flying free. ;) On dragon wings. lol :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

-Sarnic Dirchi

P.S. For those of you curious. I haven't yet written a full book. But yes I write, and yes I've come up with more than a few story ideas. :) (alot of what I said above is gleaned from reading alot of books, and my sister Kikay's experiences writing books, as well as the critique writing group I'm in now.)
My first attempt at writing got me 21 chapters into the story before I decided that I needed to fix the beginning sequences to add in things I had as background later in the story. And I got bogged down in my second draft of it trying to rework the beginning chapters. Which got me to my third draft where I'm currently on Chapter 8. :)
I may...in the future, once the book is finished decide to put it up on my blog. But who knows. :) Its going to be a long book....and I don't know who would be willing to read one chapter at a time...when the book is destined to be over 50 chapters long. ;) lol.
The Dream

I was traveling on the road with my family.
When we came across....a devastating scene...
Hundreds of deer laid dead on a hill.
We couldn't believe our eyes.
So we climbed over the fence to investigate.
We basically had to climb down one side of the cliff and up another to get to the deer...
I don't recall seeing them closer,
but I went back to the car, using the river to guide me. At some places i had to swim in the cold clear water.
And then I went back to my family to help them,
and I realized that I had taken a different path from them.
They hadn't followed the path I took. But a different one.
We were walking along the road side, headed back to our car -and to others that had stopped because of all the deer.
And there were a bunch of crystals on the ground. Alot of them were crystal/stone hearts. Some of them had pieces cut out of them, circular so many of the different colored hearts had crescents in their shape. But I also found more delicate pieces which I picked up and took back to a roadside stand so that they wouldn't be crushed by passing cars.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Hoarding Chocolate

Candy.
Christmas Candy.
Every year...I get alot of it.
Most of it comes from the stocking.
Some comes from friends.
Needless to say....
>.>
<.<
Its my secret weapon.

Stored for special moments.
Of feeling niceness.
Especially the chocolate.

Unlike most girls....Chocolate isn't my thing. Sure...I'll eat it...sometimes, like once in a blue moon I'll crave it....but I prefer the sugary candy myself. Unless its Cookies and Cream Chocolate...that stuff is awesome! but........I don't eat chocolate that often.

-I was fed too much of it one Halloween...when I was like...2....that was a year of mishaps for me....but it was too much chocolate...it took me til like Highschool to eat it. Unless it was Cookies and Cream...I would eat that. :)
So its not my thing.
But as a holiday tradition. There is chocolate for Christmas. :) lol
Usually by Christmas time I've been chocolated and candied out.
(The 6 bags of candy I buy for Halloween finally disappear)
So I'm not usually in the mood to eat the sweet stuff.
-Unless I'm lazy in making food, then its rather handy to grab.
But after Halloween....I kinda stop eating as much candy. Soo it just sits there for a bit. Good thing Candy has a long shelf life. ;) lol

Now, you might be wondering how this is my secret weapon...to hoard candy, not eat it...stick someplace and forget about it for a few months.

Well....Kikay....is opposite from me.
She loves chocolate.
Will eat it everyday.

Which means....her stash of chocolate disappears much more quickly then mine.
And if we don't get the brown stuff at the store, and she runs out....

I can come to her rescue. :)

lol yes, most of my chocolate ends up going to Kikay.

Yah...its not really a secret weapon, its more of a secret...surprise of:

Lookie! I still have chocolate. Here you go. Enjoy. Don't eat it all at onc---oh..you already did.

;)

So I have my stock restocked for the day when Kikay's stock runs out and she's in need of chocolate. :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

Whatever I dreamt last night....it was rather creepy, and I've been...idk trying to repress it I suppose.
All I remember really is that it had to do with photos. You know those...black and white glowy photos? Night vision photos? Idk...but the people look creepy in them? Yah...I was dreaming about that. But the people were twice as creepy. I think they had things wrong with them, and...I was trying to manipulate the photo to make them good again....idk, it was creepy enough that I woke myself up....and then went back to bed. Where I had a dream that I was telling someone or writing down my dream so that I could remember it. (so I feel like I've already done this three times...and that I didn't need to remember after that) But I was writing my dream blog, with alot more detail then I'm giving right now...and my dream ended with something Anatomy Classroom related....
Yah...

A Day of Happiness

I have no idea what to say today.
There has been so much excitement.
Gift giving
Wonderfulness
That I'm not sure if I can pinpoint anything specific to specifically write about.
It was all wonderful.
It was a good Sabbath Christmas Morning.
And I've had a continuous set of excited butterflies in my chest all day long.
It's an exhilarating feeling.
That really can't be put into words.
Needles too say.
Today was Fantabularrly Awesome for multiple different reasons that just made today good. :)

I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas!

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was laying in bed, talking on the phone to my aunt...
It was my dad's sister...but which sister it was kept switching about.
Anyway she was talking to me, and she asked if it was time for me to get up yet to see if Santa had come and delivered our presents yet.
I checked my phone...I had to turn it on first.
And the time said 12:22am
So I said to her, "No its not time yet, not for a while."
Then I hesitated.
Why?
I just realized, that I had gone to bed after midnight. After 1am. It was nearly 1:40am when I went to bed. So I figured my phone had glitched or something, so I turned it off and I was waiting for it to turn back on,
But then Kikay and I and others were on this path.
There were actually multiple paths.
It seemed like a...really loose maze.
Where the route you chose determined what you saw from point a to point b.
It took place in a hilly forested area that seemed to be above our house.
Then Kikay called out to me.
"Hey! You need to come take this path!"
I responded with the typical question of "Why"
And she responded that it was because this path...
-The paths connected to the Harry Potter world...and the books.
But anyway on this path. J.K. Rowling had revealed alot of alternatives, background information, and other things dealing with her books.
It sounded really cool, so I went to make my way over there.
But then...I kept getting stuck in the feet -I was barefoot- and I think my hands with.
Pins. Pins and needles. With white dots on the one edge.
They were very painful, and it made it difficult...
to do what ever I was trying to do.
Whatever I was doing...somebody didn't want me to do it.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Stationary Fireworks

Christmas Lights.
I have to love them.
They're like Fireworks....that never fade.
They just sit there.
Glowing happily.
And sometimes doing little jigs.
Enjoying their time to shine.

Every year, I enjoy spending time with my family,
Driving around and seeing all the different lights, and the way people put up the lights.
Some....have none at all....there seem to be more and more of those every year. :(
Many have just a single string of lights along the eaves. :)
And A few will go crazy and have houses that are fun to look at. :D
And a very select few will have gone Crazier then Crazy. X)
Which means one needs to pass by the house more then seven times to see it all. :) lol.
Still, big or small.
I enjoy looking at the passing Christmas lights.
Because they remind me of fireworks. :)
And I loves me some fireworks ^^

Merry Christmas Eve everyone.
I hope your Christmas Day is full of
Laughter, Surprises, and Joy.

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Christmas Commercials

So you know how this time of year....Christmas commercials get rather tedious because they repeat over, and over, and over, and over, and you're like "Go away commercial! I'm not buying what you're selling!!" Yah....I feel that way too.
But...I do like the Christmas commercials where even if its the same place advertising, they switch up their commercials so something different happens.
A good example is AllState and their Mayhem commercials. It basically says the same thing, but its switched up and is entertaining. lol I love to watch this Christmas vid of theirs:

But my all time favorite Christmas commercial showed up last year involving Target. And...it makes me laugh every time. :) lol

I just love how serious she is...and how funny she thinks she is at the end lol. :)
Its a great commercial one of my favorites. :)

So even though I'm still not buying and I'm still not going. I do like to watch them. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was with a bunch of my friends from High School and we had decided to go have a party where we would wear some college shirts (from my college) to go for it. So we went over to the store...I think one of the girls lead us to the store and everyone went wild picking out their shirts. The shirt had a pink disco like theme to it...okay more like a neon theme in its design. It looked like a chick place. Not really meant for the guys even though they just sold T-shirts which meant....anyone could buy them. I didn't buy one though. I had $21 I was going to use to pay as my fee for the party, so when the girl asked me where my shirt was I said, "I have some at home, I'll go grab one and come back because this is all the money I have and I can't come to the party unless I pay it." something like that. They were rather understanding and let me return home....
I hadn't really wanted to go to the party...so needless to say, I ended up not returning because I got distracted.
I think I ended up getting onto this blog. And I was checking the comments...because suddenly people were commenting on my posts...or else something had happened so that I could finally see the posts people commented....but I saw one post from a guy friend that said "Wow, its been forever since I've commented on your blog" or something like that.
About then a couple of guy friends from the party showed up....one was named Adam, wondering what was had been taking me so long to come back to the party. The party that I didn't want to go to...I think it involved swimming...maybe some ice skating...So I told them that I had gotten distracted.
We ended up in the zoo.
At least...I was in the zoo...
I was in a cage too...the lion's cage because I was trying to get better photos of the Male Lion residing there. I was on a natural bench hiding behind a tree trying to take pictures, when the trainer of the lion comes out and starts...wrestling with the lion. You know, playing with it and having fun. They both spot me and invite me over...or perhaps the lion spots me and decides to come play with me, only something wasn't quite right and the lion ended up biting me...nipping me on the side. It was painful and the lion wouldn't let go. Even though the trainer told him to. He kept apologizing, saying that the lion did usually act like this. I reached down at the lions mouth to jerk the lion away from my skin and I encountered a purple...pussy thing attached to the side of the lions top right lip...muzzle...the right of the muzzle on the lip. It was squishy...it looked like an ugly zit that had gotten out of control. So I kinda pulled it of the lion and that somehow got me released because suddenly
the boy that had been bitten by the lion was standing outside the cage with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders drinking something..cocoa? and the man...some sort of scientist was talking near me. Explaining that it was some sort of disease and he had it so he was going to quarantine himself, but he could prove that the other wild cats were getting it as well, and they weren't sure how it was spreading but it was basically causing the animals to go out of control, and the boy was at risk because he'd been bitten and most likely he'd be turned into an animal as well...like a coyote maybe or some other cat.
The boy ended up running off....disappearing...possibly transforming....
And my sister was complaining in this round room that mice were getting in. I asked "Where?" and she dug through the fluff surrounding the windows and pulled a mouse out. She dropped it and it fell to the ground...looking like one of the egg dolls.
But I was in school. Sitting in an elementary style desk in the 4-6 desks forming a big table set up. I was sitting there, acting rather shy. Not really interacting with others, just sitting there waiting for class to begin, when my teacher....I think it might have been a young version of Mrs. Lewis...idk "Sarnic has graduated from Sunday School in two years." (we were younger kids....age...8...10...something like that. Younger. Everyone around me started to whisper. (but I felt older...and sometimes the others looked older...if I saw faces directly they looked like my friends faces as they were in high school/college age. Dirk looked like he did in high school...anyway...everyone was whispering because usually people only graduated in four years, but I had graduated in two years. I could only mentally shake my head at them, because it was possible to graduate in two years. they were just taking the 'slower' route which takes four years.
Anyway, I was being transferred from Sunday School and the Bishop gave me a new calling even though I was young. I was going to be...I guess a teacher for the relief society. Another thing that was rather unheard of here. So I was suddenly in the relief society room. I was on a small stage...like a step heighth above the ground at a table with other people while the rest of the women were eating at tables below us. We were having Spaghetti....some sort of Italian noodly food. I had been standing, but I sat down with my back to the audience to eat my own dinner as someone else spoke...I think the woman was introducing me. -The relief society was filled with girls/women of all ages from Beehives to the old ladies. On my left was my neighbor's middle child. She was complaining about something and the neighbor was on my other side, along with the only daughter of the bishop who was also complaining....I just sat there eating my dinner trying to be a good example because I figured it wouldn't do any good to complain.
We finally figured out that our guy superhero friend had gone missing...I almost think that it was Green Lantern who had disappeared, but we discovered that there was some malignant thing in control and taking over people and the only way to take control away would be to cut the arms...tubular things into triangles. Where the triangles are still connected and if you straightened the arm it looked whole, but by cutting triangles the arm was allowed to be more flexible and therefore not able to control our friend. We'd be able to turn him human. I was in a 'viewing' view so I watched as a woman superhero...maybe...she had something to do with Green Arrow...the Huntsman? she had blonde hair that was pulled back into a pony tail, she was gathering a few superheroes to go search for their friend. Flash wanted to come help, but the girl wouldn't let him. She said that he couldn't.
That didn't stop Flash though. He ended up switching costumes with another superhero wearing a red costume...he had little antenna's on the side of his head...I think he was supposed to be "the pulse..." some sort of electromagnetic battery type of superhero. Needless to say he had a costume that covered the face, so Flash switched places with him. However, I could tell that it was flash in the suit...because their facial features are different, and the material was thin enough that I could still see that it was Flash in the costume and not the other guy. Nobody seemed to notice as they piled into the car though. When they referred to the red suit guy Flash would talk in a higher voice..it almost reminded me of  Mickey Mouse's voice. But nobody seemed to think it weird. It was like they couldn't see that Flash was an impostor. But then Flash began to burp....as my vision faded away. and the other heroes were like "Superheroname!!" (idr the name) and Flash was like "Sorry, *burp* I thought the suit  *burp* would prevent you *burp* from hearing that. *burp*" The other heroes were like "eww! stop it!"
and I think they were figuring out that it was Flash in the suit -because Flash always burps...but my vision had faded so the next thing I saw was a group of girls...they were all pretty smart and intelligent, cutting connected triangles into a flexible...hose...type arm. They were trying to get into a locked lab door. Where they thought the evil thing was hiding. Finally they open it and we all went inside to look around. It was like a group dorm room. There were beds everywhere. At first I only saw a couple of girls, but then they turned to me and they were.....mutantfied...some had slime, others had stringy hair, others had four chicken leg like arms instead of two, everywhere I looked, more girls were appearing out from under the covers all of them looking mutant, zombiefied, rather creepy and  I recognized them as the girls from my ward. The ones I was supposed to teach, and I felt...well mortified because I had basically failed the girls. They were supposed to be safe and here they were surrounding me and my friends mutantenfied. I knew help was coming though, the supers would be here soon I just had to keep everyone safe until that point....

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

My Christmas Treat Has Arrived!!!

I was asked last week in Church, what my favorite thing about Christmas was.

People were already saying things that I wanted to say...so I decided to say something different.
I said "Well, I would say the snow, but we don't have any right now."

No. That was a lie. (it was a truth if it had been about winter, but a lie for Christmas favs)
I just realized what my all time favorite thing about Christmas is.

It's this:

Yes.
That's a Cheeseball and Ritz Crackers.
Your eyes are not deceiving you. :)

Every year, among the traditions that I love to do with my Family there is one I look forward to.

Getting the Cheeseball and Crackers from our next door neighbors.
I LOVE to eat this cheeseball.
Love Love Love Love Love
Its soo good, and about the only time I will tolerate having olives in my food. :)

And today. Our Neighbor Cinsch brought it over.
She knows that I love her cheeseballs (the rest of the family likes them too)
Soo for the past couple of years. She's done this:

Yes. Once again your eyes are not deceiving you.
Its TWO cheeseballs!!!
Oh heavenly delight!
TWO!!! :D
>.>
I need more crackers....
<.<

One is for me.
Okay so Cinsch said I needed to share with Kikay, but its mostly for me. :D
And the other is for my family...which still means...mostly for me. ;)
lol okay I'm kidding the family will eat alot of the second cheeseball, but I will get alot of it as well.
:D :D :D :D

Its soooo good! And I only get it once a year. At Christmas time. :3

So here is the moment.
Where I get to partake of my favorite Christmas Treat of all time. :)

I won't show you what happened afterwards....
But it looked something like this:

But I yell out;
"CHEESEBALL!!"
Then proceed to devour it on crackers just like Cookie Monster.

Omnomonomonomnom!!

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

7:00 AM

At 7:00am today; while I was asleep dreaming my dreamy dreams. Brandon Sanderson, Finished writing Book 14 of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series titled: A Memory of Light.
I feel like this day should go down in the history books.
Robert Jordan's series, is finally finished!

Back in 2007, when I found out that Robert Jordan had passed away...
I was devastated. Book 11 had come out. With an Epic Cliff Hanger ending!
And....the author had died. Which meant that I would never find out what happened to my favorite Wheel Of Time Characters.

That was De. Ve. Sta. Tion.
An unfinished series.
I'm pretty sure my High School grades took a hit that semester after I found out that Robert Jordan had died. Yes, I was that shook up by it.

His first book came out the same year I was born. (about 6 months before my birth) It had been tentatively scheduled to just be a trilogy.
Hah. Not. 14 books later...all of them over 500 pages long.
I didn't pick up the series until...sixth grade maybe? I'm pretty sure I was still in Elementary school because I remember checking out Part 1 of book 1 from the Library right before my family took a trip to see my Maternal Grandparents.
I remember reading book 1.....and chopping at the bit to read well I guess it was part 2 of book 1.
So much so that I couldn't pick up another book until we got back in town and I was able to find part 2...I dunno if I ever found it in the library. I might have just gotten it from the book store.
After that...I was hooked.
I'm not sure how many of the series were out by the time I started reading them.
I came in 'rather late' to the series. Judging by the release dates I picked it up....probably around the 8th book. Since I don't think I got into fantasy until...5thish grade, that would make the most sense.
Needless to say. Its my top favorite series.

....Others though....don't seem to think so. lol.
I've tried to convince others to read this much beloved series of mine.
They end up...well not getting very far.
Apparently there is too much description for them in the books.
O.o I don't think so ^^ I love the description.

hehe a person on facebook commented that "'those people who don't like all the description RJ used, are not true fans." -paraphrase
I would have to agree. How can you be a true fan of Robert Jordan if you don't like the description?
I don't know....there could be a huge argument about it I suppose.

But Anyway.
Devastation.
This Awesome series wasn't going to be finished!

But then a Ray of Light.
I was stalking....some website...and I found out that another Author had been asked to take up where RJ had left off.
Elation! The series would be finished. the 'Last book" would be written!
Hesitancy. Could anyone finish RJs work?
So I did what anybody would do. ;) I stalked this new author I'd never heard of before.
Brandon Sanderson.
Elation. He lives in the same state I do!
Super cool.
That meant he had to be awesome right? Right. ;)
And he had books he'd written! :) yay :)
And he responded back to emails! -I emailed him...to ask him questions. He was very nice. And Responded!
I devoured his books. :D Awesome writer.
Soo I wasn't too hesitant to have him finish the last book.
And that last book...turned into 3 books.
And they've been good. :) yay!

And this morning. Sanderson...finished the last book.
:S
I'm not sure what to think about this.
I'm elated. Yes. Very Elated. The book should come out next year sometime -after revisions and editing and all that publishing stuff.
But I'm also.....its bittersweet.
Because I'm excited to know how everything finally ends.
But I don't want it to end!
I've basically grown up with all the Wheel of Time characters.
And its....depressing to know. That there will no longer be any more scenes written, anymore stories told, any more of my favorite characters *coughMatcough*
The last scenes are finished.
The path is set.
And...I just can't comprehend...there not being another book after this one comes out.
Its like Harry Potter all over again ;) lol.

It means that I will need to find a new 'ongoing' series to fill the void left by the Wheel of Time being completed.
The problem is...is that void isn't ever completely filled.
I know. There are many voids left when good series are completed.

So its bittersweet for me. To know that there will be no more story. (as of right now) in the Wheel of Time Universe. Which means...that I hope everything turns out well in this final book. That the plot lines are tied up enough to satisfy me.....and that my favorite characters don't end up dead. >.< That's happened more then once to me in my favorite books. that's even sadder in a sense because you can't imagine 'what happens next'....if the character dies.
So I'm hoping that it ends....Well.

:)
Here's to a Memory of Light. The Last book of the Wheel of Time series.
May it bring joy, excitement and peace to my heart when its finally in my hands.

>.>
hehe...and then...oh then, the journey of the Stormlight series will commence!
-Brandon Sanderson plans to write a 10 book series. YAY!! Long series! Love them! He's already written book 1. Book 2 will be written after the Wheel of Time stuff is wrapped up. Which means...at least for this series. I get to follow it from the very beginning. :) Yay!

Here's to an Ending of one Old Great Legacy.
And to the Beginning of a New Great Legacy

May they both be beloved by me for years to come. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

....I should have written it down sooner.

The last bit involved a short Spanish man coming in somewhere to fix something...perhaps involving unicorns and the guy scared me and he might have had a buddy and I didn't trust them...

The rest of the dream before that was Cool! I just can't remember it :( Sadness.

Sunglasses and Santa Hats

6th Grade.
The envy of the school.
The top dogs on the play ground.
And the kids who would get to sing on the stage at Christmas.
...Well not on the stage. They would sit on the three steps of the stage.
Nobody would sit on the stage, the curtain in the multipurpose room would be firmly closed.
But the sixth graders could sit on the stage steps.
The rest of the grades had to sit on the floor.
We'd all sit in a circle facing each other.
The Kindergartners would start first and sing their song maybe two songs, and we'd cycle up to the 6th years.
And as 6th years we got to sing a song...involving....Santa hats and sunglasses.
Ah man, it felt so cool to have the sunglasses on and oooing and acting cool. It's a good memory. :)

Little Saint Nick.

(sorry that there were no Sunglasses or Santa Hats but the flashing lights are cool!)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was riding my bike quickly to my home, Past the factories and the gravel mountain and up the hill. It was a bit treacherous snow/ice on the ground. But as I was riding up, I met a few of my friends coming down the hill. Heading to a mall. I decided to go along with them...until I found out that the mall was known for its...drug problems. I think it was marijuana...some specific drug was named. I decided to turn back....
I was up the hill in a different house from my own. The Police were there having apprehended the people going to the mall. They asked me to come in. So i did....they talked to me.
And then 'sentenced me'
I was like "Wait. Hold on. I didn't do anything! I turned back! I wasn't there!"
That didn't seem to matter to me.
They said that I had to serve "Four Days in School"
I was like...okay I already go to school.
But then I asked. What they  meant.
They meant that I had to go to an Elementary school and serve Four days.
I told them that was outrages. I had a life. I had other things I needed to do and it wasn't fair and I wasn't going to do it because I committed no wrong!
I told them as much, that they were being out of hand...and they tried to sentence me for longer...thinking it was compromising...but it was in reverse where they were extending my sentence.
Then I was in an elementary school. Not really helping out or doing anything. Just watching the teacher go about with her class in the room. She kept saying stuff like "Because you did this I'm giving you this." And it wasn't like a piece of candy. They were pretty big rewards, like Extreme Home Makeover type of rewards. At one point some papers fell to the ground and I went to pick them up. They were just this and that but I came across this certificate with a gold pin in it in some sort of angelic Moroni sense. It had my name on it. Which I thought was weird...I wasn't in elementary school. The teacher had moved on to another kid. a small boy with some knee problem. It wasn't working correctly. She told him that because of doing something he was going to get the surgery he needed to fix his knee.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

I Cannot Find My Way

Another Holiday.....slash non holiday song I like to listen to, was discovered...well rediscovered a Christmas or two ago when the Institute Chorale put on a performance. And among their various songs, was sung this song, which I saw in the play form back in Jr. High and liked....
(Yes, this one is on my Ipod all year round as well ;) lol )

Its called Three Kings Found the Lord from the Forgotten Carols.
I just remember it as "I cannot find my way." Because that's the coolest part of the song in my opinion. :)
I would also sing it to myself under my breath on those days when...I was more lonely? I wasn't in as bright of a mood. It helped to cheer me up though. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

The Dream

I was with people, I think they were the Institute Council. We were down at the school.
Doing some....training. In preparation for something....
The woman in charge -she was dressed in yoga clothes- had us do this and that.
She reminded me of an old P.E. teacher I had.
I did a back bend and she was rather impressed by that.
(I had taken gymnastics when I was younger...I did the backbend much easier in the dream though.)
And she wanted to see how long it would take me to run from the field to my house and back.
I started out running and did a lap around the elementary playing field before taking off through college campus (which has alot of stairs)
It was a bit crowded because there was some Genealogy exhibit going on that was apparently everywhere on campus because there weren't any classes going on.
I could have, just run the same distance to my house on the field in a big circle. But I wanted to do the actual run to my house and back thing.
So up lots of steps I went. Some of those stairs were like mall stairs. Escalators. And they didn't all go the same speed. As I was running up I saw Stuart -on council- coming down.
I thought that was rather odd...he was supposed to be with the others training.
But I didn't have time to talk. I was trying to get to my house as quick as possible.
I made it to the top of the 6th level and began making my way across the numerous parking lots. Which were crowded with cars people and construction cones. I made it to the street next to the hill that had a grey building on top of it and pine trees.
My place was still a 'twenty minute' run away. But I didn't think I could get to my house and back before class ended.
So I turned around and headed back across the parking lot and the stairs to get back to the teacher. I thought to myself: "I'll add in twenty minutes" to my overall time.
As I was going back the stairs I caught up in Stuart....

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

Nailed

I was shopping in the mall the other day.
You know...looking for Christmas Presents.
To buy for others.
I'm not sure why I went to the mall actually....there are just clothes stores there. And food places.
And smelly places for different guys and girls.
Anyway, I was headed for a store that wasn't one of those. (Electronics yay!)
When I was stopped midway across the corridor going from one store to another.
By a guy.
Dun dun dun.
He grabbed my hand and was like "Can I show you this real quick?"
O.o "Uh....sure?"
"Great! come. Please. Sit down."
o.O
Okay.... so I did what he asked.
And he proceeded to pull out stuff and try to sell me....
nail stuff.
he took my left pointer finger
and proceeded to 'diamond' and 'cotton it' and 'shine it' to death then drip it with stuff.
And WALLA!
It was shiny!
Weee and sooo soft as well.

I had just gotten...Nailed. ;) haha.

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

The Dream

I was helping to pass out some presents that had been made by my sister's friends family they were made out of cotton balls....and such...simple homemade gifts and people liked them, but they seemed to have a darker side to things.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again. :)

Street First House Later

Soo....I tried to go to a party the other night.
And, having never been there. I asked for directions.
I got them.
5Th North and 5someoddnumber East
Okay :) No problem.
I just plugged it into my GPS and got;
Nothing.
An address for 2500 North
but not 5th North
So I googled it.
I got the same result...
So I figured, that must be it right?
I headed out.
Drove and drove
And what do you know?
I ended up in a housing neighborhood.
Not a College student neighborhood.
So I called up the guy.
Yep. Twas a guy that gave me directions.
;) Should have known there would be trouble.
Anyway, I called him for directions to his place for this party.
And I got them.
He said to drive up to 500 North then turn Left.
Oh....
I said. "Alright, I can find that!"
And as I was driving towards my destination.
I thought to myself "Huh, I wonder if it was supposed to be 5somethingodd East and 500 North."
So I plugged that address into my GPS
And whatdoyouknow?
It lead me to the actual address of the party!
Dun Dun Dun.

lol I thought to myself when as I pulled up. "I wonder if this is why Men don't ask for directions...they can't give directions...."

;) hehe.
That's most likely not really at all that true....
But it was a thought. ;)

I was actually told at some point by my cousin...that guys give directions via street names and that girls give directions via landmarks.
So in retrospect it would make sense to name the street first that you need to turn on. Then the house number second. That would make it the easiest to find the right streets and such.
Instead of saying the house number first then the street its on second...

Anyway I got a nice adventure around town late in the night. :)
So that was a bonus ^^ Christmas lights all over the place!
But no Snow. :( *sniff* :'(
Apparently we won't get a snow storm here until AFTER Christmas.
Y_Y Y_Y
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I WANT  SNOW!!!!!

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

It was...rather simple. My sister was being considerate and cleaning up the house. She took out the garbage which had been piling up and such.
