Rebirth

Another year has come and gone.
And while many things have remained the same throughout the year.
Others have come and become new favorites,
While others yet still have faded away to only become a memory.

It's been quite the year all around.

And while I'm ending 2015 on a slightly low note.
Sick.
By myself. Hardly anyone to celebrate a new beginning with.

I'm grateful.
To be able to celebrate a new beginning.
It's a year of rebirth.
A year to start a new.
To work to change what I didn't like about last year.
And just bring more happiness to mine and others lives.

New Beginnings.
New goals.
New Hopes.
Rekindled Dreams.

May we all remember 2015 with fondness.
And welcome 2016 with a fervent pleasure.

For this year,
Will be unlike any other year before. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Retracing My Steps

There's always something...
About people who disappear.
That makes you wonder...
What were they doing.
Before they vanished?

I mean, in a lot of crime shows both true and fictionalized.
A person is there.
They have a conversation.
And then later.... they're gone.

Only to possibly be found dead later on. If they're found at all.

What happened.
Between that last conversation.
And being found?

What was the person's mindset, their plans, their ideas?

Its an odd thought to be thinking about I suppose.
But I had that today.

As earlier, I was in my room, waking up from a nap.
And my roomies told me through my door that they were going out and would be back later in the evening.
Leaving me alone in the apartment.

What if I wasn't there when they got back?
What would have happened?
All they would have known is that I was in my room when I left.
I didn't tell them my plans.

Nobody knew what I was up to.

How would have people retraced my steps?
Figured out where I'd gone?

It was on my mind, as I headed out into the snowy darkness a little earlier today.
I suppose the day just had a creepy feel to it. Me going out by myself, into the darkness.

I had five things on my list when I left the apartment earlier today.

And out of those five things.
Only Facebook knew one thing. That I had realized that I've been sick because I haven't had any McDonald's French fries recently. (as my roomie and I end up getting them like twice a week, but she's been gone on vacation. Soo....I haven't gone to get fries recently.)

So the first place they would go check.
Is to see if I actually ended up at a McDonalds.

There are many in the area.
So it would be a matter of narrowing down which ones would be closest to me.

Knowing that I was sick.
I'd probably go to the closest one.
Which is really like half a mile away.

They would check the time stamp at the store.
Possibly check it with my facebook status.
And realize...
It was like an hour and a half difference.
If I posted the status and headed right out to McDonalds...what was I doing in the hour and a half in the meantime?

A glance around the apartment would give them a clue.
There's a nail in the kitchen.
That would have nothing hanging on it.
Because it usually holds the mail key.
If the mail key wasn't there.
Then I must have gone to check the mail.

Whether I went to it before I left for McDonalds or after I came back from McDonalds...
Would be more difficult.

If my car wasn't in the parking lot...(which if I didn't return, it wouldn't be.)
Then I must have gone to check the mail first.
Of course, it would confuse them because there would still be mail in the mailbox. Because I have mail in there for people who don't live in my apt anymore. So I just leave it there.

But if they checked my phone records they would know that my roomie on Vacation had asked me if she'd gotten any mail.
And a bit after I posted my facebook status.
I sent her a text that said "Nope. :("

So they know I posted the facebook status. Checked the mail, and then left for McDonalds.

But checking the mail doesn't take an hour and a half.
The car is still gone.
Where would I have gone in the meantime?

A glance at my credit card records would show the next answer.
Walmart.
I went grocery shopping.
So I posted on Facebook, checked the mail and then headed to the nearby Market Walmart.
-Keeping in mind that I'm sick, I would stick with the smaller closer one, rather than driving further away to the larger one -which would have had a McDonald's in it for me to grab fries as I was shopping.

So if I was trying to make the trip easier on me, I would have driven to that one.
But like I said, I had five things in mind when I left the apartment.
And now you know three of them. Check the mail, grab groceries, and get McDonalds.

Why Groceries?
Well. A look in the garbage can would show you empty boxes. Empty boxes of my work snack food that I take to work everyday. I'd run out and I needed more.
A glance in the bathroom would show an empty Nyquil bottle.
I've been sick, empty bottle. I went to get more of that as well.

Who knows if anyone at the Grocery store would know me, see if I was acting weird at all...
Well one of the workers would. Not that I was acting weird,
But because I went through the self check out.
And apparently you can't buy Nyquil from the self checkout without approval from a 'cashier'
So I had a brief conversation with the lady, about that little quirk of the stores.
And then left.

But in the time stamp on the Walmart receipt... and the Time Stamp in McDonalds....
I still had like 15 minutes of empty space.
Where would I got in that time?
Considering the time, traffic wasn't heavy. The lights weren't long. It wouldn't take me that long.
But the credit cards show that I didn't buy anything else....
Yet...At McDonalds I paid with Cash.
Soo...maybe I went elsewhere and paid with Cash there as well?

Yep. I did.
Because I'm trying to not get my bank account below a certain number. So I resorted to cash for three of my five errands.

Asking the roomies may result in an answer...may.
In that I'd been sick.
Had I been doing anything because I was sick?
And they might mention that I grabbed Zupas yesterday.
And I'd grabbed it multiple times this week.
So, knowing I was sick, maybe I'd gone to grab more.

Which is correct.
A glance at texts to my mom would show that I also mentioned yesterday that I would grab Jamba Juice as well for the Vitamin D.
Glancing at my credit card records would show that yesterday I did go to Zupas and Jamba Juice

If they were really into it, they would check further back.
And see that when I get sick, I usually go to Zupas multiple days in a row, occasionally accompanied by Jamba Juice as well.

They could also get an idea of when I disappeared, by again checking my cell phone records. As I ended up texting my Mom and my roommate throughout my errand run. So they would know about the time I disappeared because I would stop responding to the texts.

And if...just if. (which is true.) I didn't want to back track.
They could figure out possible routes I took. Which stores I went to in each order.
Especially considering they knew the beginning point -Walmart and the ending point. McDonalds.

So I would go from the mail box, to Walmart to Zupas, to Jamba Juice, to McDonalds and then come back to my Apartment, putting me in one big circle with hardly any back tracking.

Of course....
If they found my car, they would be able to know that information anyways.
Depending on the state it was found in, I would have groceries, soup, jamba juice and McDonalds in my car.

If they found my coat they would find cash, and two receipts for Walmart and McDonalds in the pockets.

I mean, if I made it back to the apartment...then one of my friends would have seen me arrive back, and take my groceries into my apartment, because she happened to be visiting her sister when I drove up.

But.
Since I made it back to the apartment safely.
None of it really matters in the end.

Still.
It was a thought. Bugging me as I went about today.
If I disappeared....
How well would people be able to retrace my steps?
Would they ever be accurately able to trace my journey?

lol.
That's a writer's mind for you I suppose.
Figuring out potential scenarios and how they would all go down.
Why it happened to be on my mind today I have no idea....

I'm just grateful that I did all my errands today safely in the dark stormy weather. :)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

A Day In Review -December 29th

Monday, December 29th 2008

-Spent the day on the computer watching the final season of Yugioh G/X. Strange how one can waste a day watching a moving screen. One of these days I need to do something more productive. A Strange occurrence happened today. My Roommate Ali called me out of the blue asking about a lesson I gave in FHE about a talk I heard from Elder Bednar. lol that put me on the spot. It was after all like 2 or 3 months ago. She also wanted another thought mom sent me, one day about M&M candy and how it works with Christ's story. I guess she was planning an FHE thing since it is Monday after all.

Tuesday, December 29th 2009

-Spent the day lazing about the house with the exception of when I went out in the snow to get the mail and to go get Meralto. Had another nightly chat with Kikay that went on for a couple of hours. :) Such fun.

Wednesday, December 29th 2010

-Spent the morning writing, tried to go see the 1:40 Rapunzel movie but Kikay and Meralto didn't take into account the rainstorm, so when we went to get tickets they were sold out. So we ended up going in the snow to the 4:20 movie. :) It was good. I liked it. :) lol driving in the snow home took some time, but we all arrived safely home. Kikay and I had a small snowball fight, before we watched Toy Story 3 with the parents. Cas randomly called to ask if our relationship was still in the friendship stage because his guy friend wanted to know and cas wanted to make sure he hadn't missed anything. I told him we were still just friends. I hope that he wasn't hoping for a different answer...because I don't want anything more than friendship with him.

-Daddoo woke me up this morning before 9 so that I could get ready before Aunt A and her family arrived. Surprisingly Aunt G showed up at our doorstep with my cousin Autumn the oldest girl out of our new cousins. She'd gone with Kailea to a new years eve dance. Aunt A and family arrived about 9:30 but we didn't leave until 10 am for Thanksgiving point to go see the Dinosaur Art Museum. We ended up taking four of my cousins in our car. It was only Daddoo and I who went with them as Mother Dearest was at work, Meralto was working on his Eagle Project, and Kikay's eyes were bugging her so she stayed home. The museum itself was a bit crowded. I hadn't been there since 4 years ago when I moved to college for the first time. Today for some reason, there were a lot of children. Young children with their parents at the museum. I ran into my old Sunday School teachers the Hibberts there. Last time I saw them they'd just barely had twin boys. Now the boys are 5 and they have a 2 year old girl and another 8 month year old boy. lol I'd forgotten that the husband was so tall. I remember when we used to have parties in his huge house with giant balls. It was a fun time. He recognized me first, I hadn't really been paying attention to the other people, there was a family taking pictures near the T-Rex display that I needed to make my way around them. It was his family lol he approached me and said. "Don't I know you?" I turned and saw this tall guy, but his face looked familiar so I agreed that he looked familiar too. My first thought was that I must know him from Institute but when we exchanged names and he said Hibbert, it clicked that he was my Sunday School teacher. :) I talked with him and Char for a bit before we went our separate ways. After the museum we went to Chuck-a-rama for lunch. I talked with Cous Ben for a little bit there then Daddoo took Josh and Hannah to Rusty Coin to look at...what else? Coins. I walked over to Mom's work to hang out with her until Daddoo was done with the coin shop, then he picked us up and we dropped off the cousins at My Aunt L's house and visited for a little bit. I took Kikay to her 5:45 appointment to the eye doctor to see what was wrong with her left eye. She had calica conjentivitius...I think its also called a staff infection? Where her eyes got irritated and is attacking itself. WE were able to get her a prescription for that. I dropped her off at home and dashed to the Bountiful Theatre to see the 7:10 showing of TinTin. I was a bit late in meeting Tay for the movie because the people at the Drug Store moved rather slow and insisted on giving directions. I enjoyed being with Tay, but I didn't like the TinTin movie. While it had a plot...it was rather stilted. I felt like I was dropped in the middle of the movie where it meandered around a bit then ended before the last act. I didn't like it. Came home and got my confirmation email that I would be taking the Test (interpreting test) in January. :S AHHH!! -I sent in the application a couple of days ago -27th. Ahh!! I'm not sure if I should take the mock test before the actual test or not. :S (Didn't take the mock test. Didn't pass the test either. >.< boo.)

-I didn't wake up to more snow on the road today, but it was hard to convince myself to get out of my nice warm bed to go to work. I did cats, birds & small pets first then reptiles. I pulled out the guinea pigs on the floor -technically a day early because they arrived a day late, but we had customers coming in to see/buy them today because they were told we'd have them Saturday. I also cleaned out a cage that had held dumbo rats to make room for some hamsters as we wont' have rats again for a week and its rather pointless to have an empty cage when animals can come out onto the thought, though I wish we had bigger hamsters. We put out six robos instead as they were one of the older ones we had from like two weeks ago and there were six while all the others had three hamsters so the robos could use the space. We tried to make six, seven, but the single robo started fighting with the others. :( I don't think singles will do well at all ever. If we'd had two introduced to another group then it might do better. So only six. I did crickets and fed the fish and cleaned out the dead and bagged the small crickets before the morning meeting. I didn't hear the morning meeting report as a woman came in wanting two guinea pigs right as the store opened. I helped a couple customers as well as two girls who were rather fun to talk to. lol I wish I could see them again. They seem fun. I spent the rest of my shift basically cleaning algae out of the fish tanks. I drove straight from work to Walmart to get food and notebooks to write my story ideas in. :D Unfortunately I dropped my juice in the hallway and the jug cracked. (o.O you wouldn't think that would happen but it did.) Who knew that could happen. I managed to save most of the juice and pour it in my other tamipco juice jug. I also took out the garbage and did some more dishes. >.< Kah still hasn't done hers. I halfway wonder if she lived by herself if the kitchen would still be a pigsty of dishes in the sink, leftover food and empty boxes all over. :S cus she does that here and its getting annoying. I also texted Kikay as I noticed yesterday that a three legged frog in back still was alive when I thought he'd died like a week ago. Heh was up for adoption and I didn't want him to stay in that tank so I asked if she wanted a three legged frog. She said "YES!" and promptly added "I shall name him Legolas." (Leg-o-less.) lol I was like don't name him until I get him home! lol just in case the frog wasn't there. I asked Reth first if it was okay. She said yes and tried to find me more gimpy frogs to take, but I said I only wanted that one. Brought him home and he's happily in his tank with frogs Tiana and Horatio. (I saved Legolas's life as my coworker accidentally over treated the tank with meds he was in a day or so later and killed everything else in the tank. :S) I took a shower and a nap and spent the rest of the day relaxing and I wrote a little in one of my new notebooks. I wish I could write more, but its 11 and I have to go to bed. >.< Boo. I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. :(

Sunday, December 29th 2013

-I ended up sleeping on the couch last night because I didn't feel like moving. I got up and ready to go to church. Ended up coughing through the sacrament, but I survived. Mirleki was kind enough to drop by some chicken noodle soup for me and we talked for a couple of hours. :) Afterwards I watched the Lone Ranger and am about to head for bed. Hopefully to fell better in the morning.

Monday, December 29th 2014

Ugh. My sore throat has progressed onto a cold today. >.< I have that annoying stuffy/runny nose thing going on, but at least the soreness of my throat has faded. The sick symptoms only seem to be a hassle when I actually sit down. It seems like if I'm up and moving, everything works a little more smoothly. Doesn't mean, I feel the best, but its less of a nuisance which was good considering I had work today. I did pretty well only feeling a bit off after about 1 pm. Still, Sirch and I were able to get the department open with hardly any customers in sight. Mostly because it was snowing outside hard enough to deter most of our foot traffic until later in the day when it stopped. I spent nearly 2 hours putting up price stickers in my dept hardly getting interrupted. Definitely a nice slow day for me. I don't expect the same for tomorrow as I will be opening by myself. Hopefully I manage to keep my cold on the down low so I don't have to be too miserable while working. :) At least I was able to grab some Zupas soup today. I'll probably do so again tomorrow. Took a 3 hour nap and hung out for the rest of the day with a shower added in to help clear my lungs.

Tuesday, December 29th 2015

-Its so weird to go through these journal entries and notice a trend in things that happen on the same day each year. I'm currently sick with the same sort of cold symptoms as the last two years. lol. Stuffy/runny nose. I guess its just the season to get sick for me. In any case. I managed to get myself out of bed for work this morning. Though I wanted nothing more than to go back to bed and stay there for the rest of the week. I went into work and did the Back Room Bedding changes today as my coworker didn't come in until an hour before the store opened and that's not enough time to do the bedding changes. So I had her open the rest of the department while I worked on the back rooms. Managed to get them done before the store opened! Ha! Then I spent some time cleaning up our room behind the fish tanks before I set to working on our Cricket Shipment. We got a double load in today because our next shipment would be on New Years Eve and they're not sending us them that day. It took me most of the rest of my shift to play with the bugs and get them all sorted as I had to refill like 50 cricket boxes with fresh crickets, and wait out the new shipment of crickets to see if the frozen things would come back to life. It wasn't that busy today as it ended up snowing later on, so customers didn't really come in which was great because for the first time in what feels like forever I was able to get all my opening tasks done before I left! Huzzah! I liked that it was slower so that I didn't have to expend as much energy. :) I came home from work and took a brief nap before me, Jess, and Tay went and saw The Good Dinosaur at the other Mall than our usual one as it was the only nearby place showing it after 2pm. We got there late....due to some drama in the other roomies' lives so the tickets were mostly sold out by the time we showed up. Which meant we were up front on like the second row. It wasn't that bad of a view. I really loved seeing the Good Dinosaur. :) Its a cute movie. Great colors, great story. Loved it. ^^ Came home long enough for me to get into my car and go grab some Zupas and Jamba Juice to get some more Chicken Enchilada Chili and Vitamin C fruits into my system. Hopefully I can beat this cold before the weekend. Came home to eat it and have been resting the rest of the day. :) Probably going to go take some Nyquil soon to help me sleep.

Y_Y So weird...
This is my last "Day in Review" for the year. It's been quite a journey and a lot of fun to see what I've been up to in the past. ^^
Here's to hoping that this upcoming year is full of more Adventures!!

April 2008 General Conference -Saturday Morning

Dieter F. Uchtdorf -The Sustaining of Church Officers

Russell M. Nelson -Salvation and Exaltation
 • The development of faith in the Lord is an individual matter. Repentance is also an individual matter. Only as an individual can one be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. Each of us is born individually; likewise, each of us is "born again" individually. Salvation is an individual matter.
 • When giving necessary correction, do it quietly, privately, lovingly, and not publicly. If a rebuke is required, show an increase of love promptly so that seeds of resentment may not remain.
Ronald A. Rasband -Special Experiences
 • As experiences accumulate in our lives, they add strength and support to each other. Just as the building blocks of our homes support the rest of the structure, so too do our personal life experiences become building blocks for our testimonies and add to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
 • "[The Lord] commands. And to those who obey Him, whether they be wise or simple, He will reveal Himself in the toils, the conflicts, the sufferings which they shall pass through in His fellowship, and ... they shall learn in their own experience Who He is."
Cheryl C. Lant -Righteous Traditions
 • Our motivation must be to openly seek truth rather than justify our actions by finding fault with the scriptures, the teachings of the prophets, or the Church itself. Our effort must be toward hearing the interpretations of the Spirit rather than the understandings of the world. We must be willing to open our hearts and minds, accept the Lord's way, and, if need be, change our lives.
Kenneth Johnson -Restoring Faith in the Family
 • "Youth need fewer critics and more models."
 • Never be satisfied with anything less than your best efforts.
 • We should never forget that freedom and happiness in all aspects of life come by understanding and living in harmony with eternal gospel principles. They provide a sure foundation upon which to build a productive and happy life.
 • Our outlook or attitude can sometimes restrict our ability to enjoy life's greatest opportunities.
 • When God makes a promise, It remains forever true, For everything God promises He unalterably will do. When you're disillusioned And every hope is blighted Recall the promises of God And your faith will be relighted. -Helen Steiner Rice
Joseph B. Wirthlin -Concern for the One
 • We must be concerned for the one.
 • Some are lost because they are different. They feel as though they don't belong. Perhaps because they are different, they find themselves slipping away from the flock. They may look, act, think, and speak differently than those around them and that sometimes causes them to assume they don't fit in. They conclude that they are not needed.
 • Tied to this misconception is the erroneous belief that all members of the Church should look, talk, and be alike. The Lord did not people the earth with a vibrant orchestra of personalities only to value the piccolos of the world. Every instrument is precious and adds to the complex beauty of the symphony. All of Heavenly Father's children are different in some degree, yet each has his own beautiful sound that adds depth and richness to the whole.
 • Some are lost because they are weary.
 • I plead with you to step forward, put your shoulder to the wheel, and push. Even when you feel that your strength can add little, the Church needs you. The Lord needs you. Remember that the Lord often chooses "the weak things of the world" to accomplish His purposes.
 • Some are lost because they have strayed.
Henry B. Eyring -The True and Living Church
 • My Spirit shall not always strive with man.

Coming Home

In all of our sacred scripture, there is no more beautiful story of forgiveness than that of the prodigal son found in the 15th chapter of Luke.
Everyone should read and ponder it occasionally.

"And when [the prodigal] had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

"And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

"And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

"And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

"I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

"And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

"And he arose, and came to his father.
But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

"And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son"

And the father caused that a great feast should be held, and when his other son complained, he said to him, "It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found."

When there has been wrongdoing and then there has come repentance, followed by forgiveness, then literally the offender who was lost is found, and he who was dead is made alive.

How wonderful are the blessings of mercy and forgiveness.

Grateful

I always think of Christmas as a time to get yourself spoiled.
Presents. Presents everywhere!
From family, friends, and of Course Santa.

But its thrown me off this year.
This after Christmas Day.
Because I ask people what they got for Christmas.
And they only mention like one or two things that their family members gave them.
Not much else.

And I'm like.....
.......didn't you get more? What else did you get?
But I don't want to be rude and actually ask that.
Because maybe they didn't get more.
But I'm still like...surely you were given more right?

Because I totally got a lot of presents!
And I feel really....I guess "privileged" (spoiled) when I start listing off things that I got.
Which leads me to just listing off two or three different things.
Just so I don't....idk the word for it right now. Show off?

Yet.
It's lead me to be really grateful today.
Grateful that I have such amazing parents.
Who go above and beyond to make Christmas an exciting day for us kids.
Even though we're older.
We're still getting totally spoiled.
Which is amazing. Awesome, any other fun adjective you want to add in there.

Because its fun.
Its fun to celebrate.
To watch and see the joy on people's faces as they discover what lays hidden beneath the colorful wrapping paper.
It's an adventure.
It's a joy.

And I'm really grateful that we're still getting those sorts of Christmases.
Where we spend an hour or so opening presents.
Quality family time together.
Laughter.
Happiness.

Its the best feeling to be together for Christmas.
Even if it is only for a few hours.
Before we all need to head back to our lives.

But the memories live on.
In the gifts we were given.
The smiles exchanged.
The laughter shared.

So grateful.

And I'm grateful I have such a giving family.
Because today...I've been realizing that not all families can be so giving. For a variety of reasons.
So. I'm grateful.
For everything.

Christmas is a time of cheer and I'm glad we had that time. ^^

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

A Day in Review -December 25th

Saturday, December 25th 2004

-I got a ton of presents books, games, stuffed animals, and other things. And I didn't fall down the stairs like last year.

Sunday, December 25th 2005

-Woke up at 2:30 am went back to bed, woke up at 4 am and couldn't sleep. Family opened presents at 6-9am. I got some books, Gameboy games, a dragon statue, dragon wall hanging (that I love and have hanging up right now.), Narnia books on tape, candy, bed spread, Yugioh movie episodes, yugioh cards, movies of Sky High, Charlie and the Chocolate Factor soundtrack and other things like jewelry, clothes and games. Went to church til 2:30 then grandparents came over and gave me a homemade blanket that Grandma Dirchi made out of Grandma Retrun's fabric that she had. Gave grandma a ceramic thingy (a weird random art piece I made in class) and spent the rest of the day relaxing.
-Did I ever tell you what my favorite star is? Well my favorite star is Sirius (the Dog Star) in the Canis Major constellation. Now what's really Ironic is that my Celtic Birth Symbol is the Dog Star! Isn't that Ironic that my favorite star turns out to be my celtic birth symbol? I thought that it was so cool! And my parents gave me a necklace that shows the Dog Star! I'm never going to take it off!! (I did eventually....but it was a looong looong time before I did.)
P.S. I don't care what people say. Santa is Real!

Monday, December 25th 2006

-I didn't sleep real well (like always) Opened presents at 6. I got makeup XP, gloves, shirts, 5 Dvds -cars, national treasure, superman returns, The Thief Lord, and Fantastic 4. Gameboy games, 16 books, a mp3 player, and a portable DVD player! I gave my mom a figurine but accidentally broke it the next day while playing the piano. :( (was doing a recap of this day, hence why I knew what happened to it.) I got Daddoo two longsleeved shirts -green and magenta red. Kikay and Meralto I got them a Piece of Paper and a Flower. Haha. It wasn't their real presents. I got them two dragons a black one and a silver one that my friend Tay made for me. Then we slept the rest of the time.

Thursday, December 25th 2008

-MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Its was strange today. Kikay, Meralto and I are usually so excited for Christmas morning that we wake up every couple of hours impatiently waiting for 6am to arrive so we could open presents. .... Not this year. Kikay surprisingly woke us up at 7 am. Oops! Overslept. I think we did so because we knew Santa Claus was only bringing us a stocking full of gifts this year. So we -I after being woken up from a school nightmare. Trudged upstairs to see what we got. I was suffering from a major headache and was still sick. :( So we started with Santa's gifts in the stocking. I got a stuffed cat that makes sounds when a button is pushed, plastic shark statues, a bunch of candy, some Gaia and Itunes's Gift Cards and a watch. I was glad I got the watch since mine was kinda broken. But I was said there wasn't anything more expensive -like a camera. Oh well...maybe the parents would give me a camera. :P Okay so I gave my family Dad: A soup bowl, 2 cups, and 2 other cup/bowl hybrids made by my school's ceramics classes (they do a sale of stuff every year.) He seemed to enjoy them, having a work bowl and mug. A cup for tea -herbal- a cup for sodapop and an extra cup just in case. lol. (Not positive but I think he only has one still in one piece...not positive.) Mom: A Barry Manilow CD and a will tree figure that is called "Love of Learning." Kikay: A willow tree figure w/ 2 people that's called "Heart and Soul" and a tiny box that had a snowflake on the side. I told her I got her a "snow tree." lol. And Meralto I got him a wallet with an eagle on it, and some weights. In return I got from Meralto: 2 wood carvings he did himself. One with my name the other with my favorite constellation Canis Major. He also gave me a Maroon Body Pillow that I absolutely love (and still have them all.) and a willo tree figurine that has an angel holding a rose. Kikay got me the Harry Potter soundtrack. Daddoo got me a necklace that had a symbol from Brandon Sanderson's book Elantris it's called AonEne and means Wit/Cleverness. :) I like it as well. ^^ Mother Dearest got me....sadly no camera...but Heroes Season 2. :) :( I was sad. No camera! Oh Well...can't be spoiled. So me suffering from being sick went back to bed hoping that my headache would go away. Next thing I knew, around 10:30-11am I heard the DoorBell go off and this HO HO HO!! Curious to see what was going on I forced myself back out of bed to see who was at the Door. I got to the front door with my siblings just as dad shut it. Wanting to go back to bed I started to turn when Meralto asks "What is that?" I turn and see...this see of red -took out my contacts to sleep- They were 5 GIANT STOCKINGS at least 4 feet tall. lol. Daddo gleefully told us later that our faces were sooo surprised as we weren't expecting any more presents. Inside my stocking was a white horse stuffed animal, A statue of The Thinker, The movies: Wall-E, Prince Caspian, and the Dark Knight. Some Art supplies -the parents want me to work on my drawing because I'm good apparently lol. A couple of books -the Tales of Beetle the Bard, and Dewey. a 2009 calendar and... A CAMERA! :D Hehe I was really happy about that. Oh I forgot to mention what Grandma gave me. 3 Home stitched Dish Towels. Mine was the only homemade gift of the lot. :) Mother Dearest's gift was a ceramic pitcher in the shape of a Parrot. ^^;;; That was funny to see Mom's expression. Anyway, after we unloaded the Giant Stockings, me still suffering from that headache went back to bed after taking an Advil, for an hour or two before I was woken up to go to Grandma's House. Miraculously my headache was gone! We went to Grandmas to exchange gifts before heading back home where I spent the rest of the day on the computer and the night watching Prince Caspian with my parents. :) It started snowing again, a major storm, many of the roads here are shut down because of the bad weather. Too bad mom has to go to work tomorrow. I don't think it would be very enjoyable for her in the morning if its still snowing and cold. I hope she gets to work safely. Again. Merry Christmas! :)

-MERRY CHRISTMAS!! After dozing for a while I was startled awake by Meralto pounding on our door and POPSUB playing some loud Christmas music as well. lol. All the family including MOMAT and POPSUB (we were at their place in Colorado for Christmas this year.) gathered at the downstairs Christmas tree to open our stockings, presents for family and presents from Santa Claus. In my stocking I got a stuffed kitty, mascara, juggling balls, candy, drawing pencils, a bracelet, an ITunes gift card, and a flash light. Meralto gave me a scarf, pillow, and wolf plaque. Kikay gave me two sets of bracelets and a cool sparkily wooden thing that spells out Dream (still have with me.) Santa and our Parents gave me The Scarlet Pimpernel Movie! Heroes, a bunch of books...oh there was also a small knife in my stocking. ^^ A necklace, a sweatshirt with my college on it, a stuffed animal Dog with the college on it, A wolf T-shirt, a skirt and socks -also in the stocking, a rock wand, and Meralto also gave me a wooden plaque with a mountain lion drawn on it done by himself. I gave Kikay some bracelets as well as a cloak. Meralto I gave a meteorite and an obsidian wand and a piggy bank. I gave Mother dearest a necklace with hearts, a bronze bear, and the HP6 movie. Gave Daddoo a labyrinth book and a bronze buffalo statute. Poor UB can't stand the sound of Styrofoam so he had to plug his ears a lot. :( UB I gave a pendulum and a rock wand. AT I gave a rock wand, angel thing and a rock "bell." After finishing w/ our big gifts Kikay -keyboard, Meralto -guitar, AT -banjo. UB...a shirt? or a book... Mom...I forgot, Dad was an ancient bear tooth and myself Lion King 1&2 movies and CDs -also got a vocal point CD. then after we were done downstairs, and AT and UB were done ooing and awing over the gifts we snuck into their stockings we went upstairs to open the gifts from AT & UB. I got a couple more books, some sock shoes, a rock egg, and my belated birthday present turned Christmas present an 'axe' with dragons on it So cool! (ended up breaking it when I got back to college. >.< Soo depressing. Still have it though.) A music turtle, a "creating dragons" drawing book a "Me 2" thing. No idea what it is lol. A set of cutting knives, two more shirts, a ramen bowl. lol (still have those as well.) lol AT knows me too well. I love Ramen Noodles, and a blanket. Then as a surprise AT gave Dad, Mom and I each a bedside table. lol definitely the first time I've gotten furniture for Christmas lol. All in all I think we were spoiled rotten this year with all our gifts. :) Ended up cleaning up pretty quickly to prepare for AT's parents coming over. They came over along with their dogs.-Oh gave Kandi a squirrel toy and Chicken jerky (their Dachshund.) Gave Biscuit (their other big white fluffy dog) a ball and a bone she ate in like 30 mins. lol Had dinner/lunch of Turkey, Ham, rolls, veggies, stuffing, and potatoes. Like Thanksgiving. lol. After Dinner Kikay and I escaped downstairs to listen to our music. Ended up taking a long nap waking up around 7pm. By then the grandparents were long gone. Hung out upstairs for a couple of hours before everybody started heading for bed since AT's been up since 4 am and everyone else since 6. Kikay and I watched Lion King 2 downstairs. :) Such a good movie. ^^ All in all it was an awesome Christmas and I hope AT/UB/and family enjoyed it as much as I did. It was a good first Christmas away from home. :)

-Merry Christmas! I woke up this morning around 6:20 and snuck out of my bedroom to go see what was in the front room before going back to my room and dozing until Meralto woke me up with Christmas music. We opened presents. :) I got books, movies, and candy as well as gift cards, stuffed animals and Money! Meralto gave me a giant Bear stuffed animal and a necklace with an S on it. He "accidentally" switched our presents so I would once again open once of Kikay's gift (as I have a habit of doing that -not on purpose basically every year.) Kikay got a necklace as well but with a K. Kikay gave me two books _Fallen_ I gave Daddoo a neck massager and 2 soup bowls. Mother Dearest the mentalist season 2, a sweater and a ruby bracelet. Kikay I got a bracelet of topaz -blue, a sparkily hat, Meralto go t a neck massager and a body pillow. Went to Grandmas to exchange gifts. She gave us fingerless gloves which are my favorite! And a homemade decoration of an angel head with ribbon. Came home and watched a bunch of seasons of Castle while eating turkey. Aunt G dropped by for a bit to chat and we basically relaxed.

-Merry Christmas! :) My dad started out pretty early. I officially woke up a little after 6am to let the dogs out and check out the presents. We opened our stockings around 7:30am with the parents. lol Meralto gave the parents their "wake up call" via a puppet beaver called Dr. B that he uses to teach kids with. We also opened our new pillows, but the rest of our presents had to wait til after church. So we got ready for church and went to the sacrament meeting, it was a Christmas program of songs. Most of them were good though they were all soothing so it was hard to stay awake. Came home from church and opened presents. With the stockings Daddoo also gave each kid a card with his testimony written in it. That was sweet of him. ^^ So, I gave Daddoo -a set of bells and a knife with wolves on the handle and sheath. Mother dearest I gave Escape from Zarahemla and Castle Season 3. Kikay I gave Beauty and the Beast Barbie dolls, a book called "Steel" a horse figurine and a "chocolate" calculator (not real chocolate, real calculator that looks like chocolate) Meralto I gave a knife similar to Daddoo's but with Eagles as well as laser pointers. I think they were all excited about their gifts. ^^Kikay gave me a Lucky Dalmation stuffed animal and a necklace. Meralto gave me a leather bracelet and some chocolate. Mother Dearest gave me a Popcorn popper with popcorn and butter. Daddoo gave me a knife, I also got books, a calendar, make up, movies, a tool box, a laptop desk thing, more candy, Casey gave me a walnut with a $20 bill inside. :) (was paranoid it was a ring. :S Loved all the presents I got ! Especially the main present which for me was an Ipod touch. ^^ I spent the rest of the day messing around with it. Its a lot of fun. Oh I dropped by the singles ward to see my friends (and get presents) only Katie showed up out of the 3 that hadn't given me anything yet. She gave me some D.N. Angel books. Vl 2,3,4, 6&7. She said she found them for a really good price which leads me to believe she got them from the D.I. or something. What's sad....is that I already had all the books. :S BUT I really like her gift because it shows me that she was thinking of me. She knew I liked D.N. Angle. She saw an opportunity to get a lot of books for a low price and she took it. ^^ I'm really happy. Hung out at home until the grandparents showed up to exchange gifts. Us kids gave Grandpa a Mannheim Steamroller CD because he really likes them. Kikay gave Grandma a pillow she sewed herself. -helped stuffed it. In return they gave us nice soft scarves and a nativity set. Mine was crystal. ^^ (wonder where that ended up....) Tay dropped by later to give me a huge chocolate kiss. It was good to see her for a few minutes. Also spoke to Terrel. He got the Tennis Shoes book I sent him. ^^ He said that it was the best gift he got for Christmas. ^^ I'm glad I was able to brighten his day. I wonder if he'll actually get me anything in return...while it wuld be nice, I'm just glad he liked the book. And yah...I'm tired. It's been a long day.

-Merry Christmas! :) lol I must admit I didn't get much sleep as it seems lke Pepper woke me up every 2 hours until 5 am. I didn't mind so much as I wanted to be up early on Christmas Morning. :) AT six I went to wake the parents as Meralto didn't want to be scared by Daddoo like last year and Kikay didn't want to move. We spent an hour and a half opening presents. I got a plague ( plack? how do you spell that?), knife necklace, a butter melter that Merick made himself ( cup to melt butter in.) A "Prepper" lunch silverware set, an Ipod car thingy, 4 books, Pirates 4, a purse, a couple of flashlights, a warm pack stuffed animal, an ITunes gift Card, a barnes and noble gift card, money, some shirts, make up, gloves, socks and lots of candy. :) Everyone liked the gifts I gave them. :) Afterwards we all basically went back to bed until about 10 am. -I dozed off on the couch. WE went to see the Hobbit in the theatre. At 11 am getting popcorn, pretzels and drinks. I don't think I ever read the hobbit though some things seemed familiar. I though the movie was well done with a lot of attending to detail and I enjoyed the adventure of it. But its really long almost 3 hours which left me wishing for an intermission or something. Still I enjoyed watching it. It didn't instill in me the need to read the book or watch the next two movies when they hit theatres, or even to go see the movie again, but it was a good movie. A one time exposure was good enough for me. Aftrwards one dropped by Grandma's house for a couple of hours to exchange gifts -I gave grandma a candle holder. I gave grandpa some dark chocolate. In return we got a certificate for a manicure. Not really a girly girl, but I don't mind trying it once. Not sure how well that's going to work with work though....I got a belated present from my coworker Josie as she texted me about an hour before I had to head back home that she would be able to switch shifts. :) Woot! I don't know why she waited so long to text me, but I'm grateful that I can stay home another night with my family and be away from collegetown for another day. I plan to call Starsmet in the morning to let the manager know we switched shifts. (head manager ended up not being happy about it when I got back to work, apparently we should have cleared it with him first. didn't know that. It was my first time switching shifts.) Watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Read, called AT to talk to her and blogged as well as just hung out for the evening with family. :)

-Christmas was awesome! I actually slept in a little til 7:20 am which felt great because I've been getting up at 5am for the past few days. So it was good to get a little more sleep. We woke up the parents and opened presents.. I got a variety of things, Meralto gave me some nail stuff O.o and a captain America poster. ^^ Kikay got me Settlers of Catan and the letter "S" with pictures of myself on it. Daddoo gave me Arrow season 1 and a sketch book w/ some colored pencils and Mother dearest gave me the laptop. (she went halfsies on it w/ me.) :) I also got perfume, chocolate, candy, gift cards to ITunes and Amazon, magic cards, bouncy balls, a book -Charming. And the Lone Ranger as well as clothes and other things. :) Twas great! I got Daddoo a table catapult and sketch paper. Mother Dearest I got CSI season 13, socks and earrings, Kikay MLP monopoly. and a peacock statue and Meralto a Vocal Point CD and a galaxy machine. All appeared to like their gifts. :) Us kids spent the rest of the morning fiddling around with our new laptops until 11 when we went and saw the 11:30 showing of The Hobbit -Desolation of Smaug. It was a good movie with much amazing action. Good movie, but no real ending because there's a third one on the way. Afterwards we went to the Grandparents to exchange gifts. I got dish towels. :) And gave them chocolate. Came home and I spent a couple of hours reading before driving back to collegetown and reading some more...:S as my laptop was having troubles connecting to the internet. :(

Thursday, December 25th 2014

-Merry Christmas! :D My morning started earlier then I had expected because I woke up about 5:20 to the smell of something burning. It smelt like burnt ramen noodles and my sleep fogged brain was half convinced something was on fire, so I came upstairs...no fire...and dozed in the living room with all the presents. :) Meralto showed up at 7:30 and surprisingly Mom was awake. O.O We gathered everyone soon after to open presents. I got a key knife, a pocket knife, lots of books, candy, makeup, towels, a vacuum, scriptures, aroma oils and other things. :) Mother dearest gave me the Vacuum. Dad the two knives and oils, Kikay gave me 2 books (I ended up getting her one of the same books lol.) and candy. Meralto an arrow poster, and a homemade mug. :) I gave kikay the book and a gold bracelet with a peacock and a zebra statue. Daddoo I'd given the Tortoise we found wandering around the store a month ago, Mother dearest a laundry basket w/ a heat blanket, candy and a book plus an abominable snowman. All in all a good Christmas!! I have to say the oddest present was that all 3 of us kids were given a taser. O.o Mother dearest stated that since we were all working shifts that involved darkness it would be good to have one just in case. ...I hope I never have to use it. After parents we went to Grandma's house to do presents there. Grandma gave me a table runner. :) Homemade. :) I gave her a shirt with Paris stuff on it and some tiny people figurines. WE went and saw the Hobbit 3 afterwards and it was an intense movie. :S My favorite character died though. It snowed!! Woke up to a white Christmas (like the only time it snowed last year.) And it snowed most of the day! :D it was great!

-Well...I didn't sleep that well last night. It felt like I was coming down with the flu or something. I had a super sore throat. I was achy. Sore. Tired. Went to sleep and woke up only a couple hours later with a major headache. The kind that feels like spikes being pounded into your skull. I couldn't sleep, felt awful. So I took some Advil, it didn't help, My sister who was also awake gave me a brief shoulder massage before I went and took a shower, and more Advil, and managed to doze fitfully the rest of the night. Waking up every couple of hours or so. Usually on Christmas day the kids are the ones to wake up the parents. Today, it was Mom who woke us up. At least Kikay and I. Meralto showed up and Mom heard him come in, but we didn't go wake them up. I was just trying to get the last of my headache gone. I knew there were presents out in the living room. But I was so tired, and exhausted from my night I was fine staying in my bed. But, after some caffeine and some Excedrin, I felt much better. Able to open presents with the family while feeling for the most part fine. Thankfully the sore throat had disappeared. The headache/tension stayed in the background for most of the day. Christmas and Presents was amazing. ^^ I loved spending time with my family and everyone liked their gifts. ^^ This year was different from other years because us kids didn't have just one wrapping paper for each kid -so we knew which one was ours- This year it was decided just to use all the different left over wrapping paper we had accumulated over the years. And I have to say it was a ton of fun. You had to look for your name on the present instead of a certain color of paper. Definitely something different and something I enjoyed. :) After we opened presents we hung out for a bit relaxing -me I was reading a Sherlock behind the scenes book.- before we headed over to Grandma's house to exchange gifts. We got her a Kindle Fire and various parts/extra for that -memory card, case, amazon card to buy books. And grandma gave us kids all "Bowl Warmers." Handmade. ^^ What are they? Yah, I didn't know at first either. But it's a cloth, looks a bit like those oven pads you use to keep food from burning the table. But it has a dip in it, making it look a bit like a bowl itself. And what you do is you stick your cup or bowl in the dip of the cloth. Put it in the microwave, and then when its done you can pick up the cloth with the cup/bowl inside and you won't burn your hands on the hot dish! Soo cool!! ^^ I've never head of them before but oh so useful! We came back home and I relaxed, reading some more, taking a short nap, enjoying my new presents -clothes, books, movies, pictures, jewelry, etc etc. So. Very much fun. ^^ It was just a nice relaxful day, which had to end much sooner than I wanted as Kikay and I had to return back to CollegeTown this evening so I could get to work tomorrow morning. Got back to my apt and have just been hanging out watching Mirror Mirror and Inside Out -movies I got today.

I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas!!

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Good Bubble

We had a Christmas party at work today.

One of my coworkers brought in donuts for us to eat while we waited for the main food to cool.
And when I got the chance I went back there.
To grab a donut before I would head back to my tasks that I still needed to get done.

There were multiple boxes of donuts.
As my coworker had gotten us a variety of them.

The managers happened to be back there when I went to grab my donut.
Getting the food ready/cooking it. (Pulled Pork Sandwiches.)

I opened one of the boxes of donuts.
And it was chocolate frosting, and apparently they were cream filled.
My preference of Krispi Kreme donuts is just the normal glazed donuts they make.

So I shut the box and moved onto the next which did have my normal glazed donuts I wanted.

But my Head Manager was like:
"Sarnic! You should have one of the crème filled donuts! They're delicious."
"I actually just like the plain ones."
"Sarnic, you need to get out of your bubble. Do something new. Change the bubble!"
And my coworker was like. "She doesn't have to change anything, she has a good bubble!"
"No, she needs to change her bubble!" My manager said with firm conviction.

And then the conversation suddenly shifted for Head Manager.
He suddenly asked me "Sarnic...do you have any Christmas DVDs in your car?"

-I could see his train of thought. We do have a TV in the breakroom (used to be used for training videos before everything went to computer.) and it was a Christmas party. So why not have a Christmas movie playing?
I don't think he was being serious.
Well, I don't think he expected me to have one.

To his surprise I said. "Yes."
He blinked. "You do?!"
"Yah, I have one in my car."
()_() "Which one?!"
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas." (Jim Carrey version)
Everyone else in the store was like ()_()!!! "Really?!" "Yay!" "Which version?" "Sweet!"
My manager was like O.o "On Dvd?"
"Yah."
"In your car right now?"
"Yah."
O.o "Why do you have a Christmas Movie in your CAR?!"
lol. Which I thought was the strangest question...after all ...he'd just asked me if I had one. lol. Which leads me to believe he wasn't being serious in his question.
"Because I was taking it home to watch tonight, its a family tradition."
"Oh. Can you go grab it?"
"Yah, sure, just give me a second."
I put down my donut, grabbed my keys from my locker and went out to my car to grab the DVD and bring it back.
lol. and my Manager, when I returned triumphantly, said "Sarnic, Don't change your bubble. You have a good bubble."

XD lol.
Well good to know my bubble is good in everyone's eyes now. ^^ lol

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!
