October 2007 General Conference -Sunday Morning

Henry B. Eyring -O Remember, Remember
  • The Holy Ghost can bring all things to our remembrance--even things we did not notice or pay attention to when they happened.
  • Find ways to recognize and remember God's kindness. It will build your testimonies.
  • Count your many blessings; name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
  • Take heed to thyself and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest thy depart from thy heart all the days of thy life.
  • Those who are faithful to God are protected and prospered.
  • The Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil.
Quentin L. Cook -Live by Faith and Not by Fear
  • The most important qualification for all of us serving in the kingdom is to be comfortable in bearing witness of the divinity of the Savior.
  • Be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and I will stand by you.
  • God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
  • We can raise righteous children anywhere in the world if they are taught religious principles in the home.
  • It is our faith in Jesus Christ that sustains us at the crossroads of life's journey.
  • When we choose to follow Christ in faith rather than choosing another path out of fear, we are blessed with a consequence that is consistent with our choice.
Claudio R. M. Costa -Don't Leave for Tomorrow What You Can Do Today
  • Great love is necessary in order to teach and guide a family.
  • Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
  • We don't know what could happen to us tomorrow, and that is why today is the time to start showing your love.
Julie B. Beck -Mothers Who Know
  • Mothers need not fear. When mothers know who they are and who God is and have made covenants with Him, they will have great power and influence for good on their children.
Christoffel Golden Jr. -Small and Simple Things
  • By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.
  • In the wake of our best and very limited efforts and because of the Lord's infinite goodness, "great things [are] brought to pass" by the "small and simple things."
David A. Bednar -Clean Hands and a Pure Heart
  • Our spiritual purpose is to overcome both sin and the desire to sin, both the taint and the tyranny of sin.
  • Prophets throughout the ages have emphasized the dual requirements of (1) avoiding and overcoming bad and (2) doing good and becoming better.
Gordon B. Hinckley -The Stone Cut Out of the Mountain
  • In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!
