Baked Potato

So a while ago...idr if it was for Christmas or my Birthday last year or what.
But my Grandma Dirchi had given me this cloth bag thing.
Which she told me was to cook potatoes in in the microwave.

Having never done such a thing before I was rather skeptical of how it would go.
And had mostly forgotten that the potato bag thing existed except when I would encounter it in the cupboard while searching for other things.

But a couple of weeks ago my roomie decided that she wanted to have a baked potato for dinner.
And had looked up how to cook it in the oven.
Which took like...45 minutes or so to cook. Maybe an hour?
I wasn't paying attention to the clock.

But it took forever and I was just like....how do we cook these faster?
And so I looked up how to cook up potato in the microwave, while thinking about the potato bag cooker thing my grandma had made.

And like...it seemed pretty simple.
Wash the potato off.
Poke it full of holes so that it could steam.
Place in microwave for 5 minutes.
And walla!
Baked Potato!

However, not wanting to step on my roomies toes while she was attempting to cook her own baked potato in the oven.

So I placed the concept on the back burner for something to try on a different day.
As I hadn't exactly been in the mood for a baked potato that day.

Cue today.
Where I was hungry.
And wanted to eat something more than the slices of bread and granola bars I'd been living off of the past couple of days.
And we had this bag of potatoes.
Which needed to be used.

And like...I wanted to make something quick and easy.
As even attempting to cook Ramen felt like too monumental a task to complete.
As I've been in a bit of a funk the past week.
And cooking just....feels like too much effort. It feels like it takes too much energy.

But a baked potato?
In the microwave.
Not so much.

So I pulled my grandma's cloth bag she'd made out.
Grabbed a potato and rinsed it off and stabbed it full of holes with a fork.
Placed it in the bag.
Placed in the microwave and let it do it's thing.

And when I pulled it out....

SOFT POTATO!

lol I'd read that I might have to microwave it a little longer to get it to fully soften.
But the potatoes I have are small.
So it microwaved just fine!

The only downside...was that the inside of the cloth bag had like...cotton fibers?
And those got stuck to the skin of the potato.
So it left a lot of fuzzy white stuff on the surface.
Which it was easy enough to peel off the skin ad eat the rest of the potato without issue.

And it was SO GOOD!
lol like why haven't I cooked potatoes in the microwave before?!
It was quick and easy and I ended up cooking a second potato using the same method a little later on.
Though I changed one little thing.
I wrapped the potato in a papertowel before placing it in the bag.
Which helped to avoid the skin getting covered in white fuzzy stuff.
Huzzah!

Lol Totally felt accomplished with that. ^^;;
Yay for the small things.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

My Cookie Now

So last Saturday I ended up going to Crumbl after work for the sole reason of buying myself a Nutella and Sea Salt Sugar cookie because those things are GOOD.
And it was my last day to do so after putting it off for like...the entire week.

As Crumbl is a unique cookie shop.
In that they have six different flavors of cookies.
Two of them are standard. You can always get A Pink Frosted Sugar Cookie or A Chocolate Chip Cookie.

But the other four?
They switch out every. single. week.
And sometimes they don't come back for months and months and months.

So one week you can get like Birthday Cake, Rocky Road, Red Velvet & Triple Chocolate Chunk.
And then the next week it's "Oreo, Cinnamon Roll, Pumpkin Spice & Lemon cookies.

It's pretty cool, honestly, to see all the different cookie types that they end up offering throughout the year.

But it had been two or three months since I've tasted the deliciousness that is their Nutella cookie.

So I went there and got myself two!
Plus two of another type. A chocolate/caramel combo that looked rather delicious because it was a chocolate cookie with chocolate chunks in it, with chocolate sauce and caramel sauce dribbled on top.

I had mostly plans to share the chocolatey one with one roomie.
And basically have the other three for me.
So I could horde one Nutella one for later.
And eat the chocolate and the other Nutella cookies myself.

However.
A different roomie came home around the time I was offering the cookies to the first roomie.
So I offered one to her as well.

To which she was like "I'll try the nutella one! But I'm kind a full right now, I'll eat it later."

Something like that.

And I was like "Okay cool!"

And proceeded to eat my one nutella and my one chocolate one over the course of a few days because those cookies are rich and sweet and gah. I can't eat too much at once lol.

However.
The other Nutella remained untouched.

Just sitting there.

Days passed.
And it hadn't been touched.

Until today.

When I decided that it's been basically a week.
And if the roomie hadn't eaten it by now.
Then either a) she's forgotten about it or b) she's forgotten about it.

And since it's been a week, I hardly doubted she'd want to eat a week old cookie.

But me.
I know the deliciousness that is the nutella cookie.
And I didn't want this treat that I had originally planned to have for myself....basically go to waste.

So this morning, after the roomies left for the day.
I snagged the cookie.

And ate it.

NOM NOM NOM.

I mean. It was mine to offer in the first place, which means I can revoke that offer at any time right?
Right.

No cookie should be left uneaten!

Ah.
So tasty.
Wish I had another one...but I probably won't see the precious cookie again until next year. Y_Y :( Sad day.

I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

All You Can Eat

All you can eat places are an interesting concept.

Like it's really cool that you can pay a flat fee and just eat all the food you want.

However...
When it comes to people like me....who have really small stomachs and don't eat that much.

I feel really bad going to these places.
Especially if someone else is paying for me.

Because I don't eat much.

And prices for these all you can eat places have just gone up over the years.

To the point where I just....don't usually go to them.

However,
Tonight my friend wanted to celebrate at one of these all you can eat places.

Tucanos.

Which has
All.
The.
Meat.

And like a $30 per plate price tag. :S Yikes.

Like I get it.
Meat is expensive.
And this place serves all the meat you could ever want to eat.
Servers just come up to you every so often and are like "You want chicken parmesan?" "You want pork loin?" "You want bbq chicken?" "you want ribs?" "You teriyaki steak?"

Seriously.
If you want to try ALL the meat.
Great place to go lol.
And if you don't they have a nice salad bar option with salads, potatos, pastas, soups, etc. '

So you have ALL THE FOOD.

The slight problem is...
I'm not much of a meat eater?
Like I love my chicken sandwiches and such.
But the red meat?
Not so much.

I don't like the taste of it, so in order to eat red meat it either has to be really seasoned well, or covered in sauce, or like thin enough that I don't have to chew on it endlessly.

So in reality.
Tucanos isn't the best place for me to go eat lol
Because I'm sooo picky at the types of meat.

And again, I feel bad for spending so much money...on very little.
Especially when I know that like $30 could buy me a good sixish meals at a fast food place.

However, I mostly went to support my friend. As it was their birthday.
So I figured I could swallow the cost a bit.
And just go to enjoy myself.

I did make an effort though.
To try different meats and such.

Though I ended up only saying yes to like...half of the ones offered.
Because there are just some that I can't stand.

But the servers were really sweet, especially when I said I prefer red meat well done because well...I don't like seeing the red, and again I don't like the taste of it. :S And so made an extra effort to try and get food to me cooked more well done.

But yah.
It was only my second time going to this place.

And while fun and novel....
Definitely not a place that I feel like....I would just go to on my own instigation.

So we'll see when the next time is.
But yah.
It was fun to try different things. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Nom Nom Sugar

So, I'd just woken up from like a 2 hour nap.
Which is something I haven't really done in like...two months or so?
I've been keeping my naps shorter like 15-30 minutes most of the time because I've been wanting to write and focus on that and haven't been as...tired tired.

But I felt like I should probably take a longer nap today because I could afford to do so as I can stay up late if I want to.

In any case.
2 hours later I woke up again,
And checked my phone.
And noticed that there was a random email from Crumbl. A popular cookieshop in the area that has recently (like just last year) opened a location near us.

So for funsies I checked what cookies they were offering this week.
-As they sell six different types of cookies, but only 2 stay the same each week. The other four vary by the week.

And in this weeks' line up?

Was SeaSalt and Nutella.

Which was a cookie that my manager introduced me to last year around Octoberish?
As he brought a bunch of them for the store.
And it was delicious and I delightful and I loved it!
Like I don't usually go for nutella but in a freshly baked cookie?
It's the best!

And I hadn't had that cookie in like...a year.

So I dragged my roommates out of the house and off we went adventuring to get ourselves fresh baked cookies.

And the Nutella cookie was just as delicious as I remembered! Ahh.
So good.

I may go grab another one after work on Saturday because it probably won't be around next week.

A Soothing Drink

Chicken broth.
I've heard the word tossed around a time or two.
But never really considered what it was...

Until Daddoo made some for me the other day. When I had a particularly tight chest and sore throat.

And it was rather nice to sip.

I made some more last night.
For the roomies and I.

I'd never made it myself.

But it's rather simple. Chicken bouillon (I have no idea how to spell that) mixed in water and heated up.

Simple.
But oh so soothing to the throat.

Even if my tongue isn't too happy when I accidentally sip it too hot.

But still it's good.
It's comforting.
I kinda want to go make more right now....

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

Switched

So it's become kinda a tradition when we go on vacation as a family, we each take a night to make a meal.
Lol and my 'traditional' meal I've taken to making is my famous Tacozanga because most of my family members don't get to eat it that often.
Even at home...I don't make it more than like...every third month or so. ^^;; lol.

In any case.
I chose to make my tacozanga again for this trip.
Even with the slight change in ingredients as specific brand names weren't sold here that I usually get.

I figured it would go over well.
And it did! Woot!

lol but not without a slightly major hiccup.

As I put in Mexican style Rice-Roni as one of the layers.
Which involves pouring in a seasoning packet once the rice has been browned and water added.

So when the time came.
I grabbed the seasoning packet.
Opened it.
And poured it in.

Only to realize once I was about to toss the packet into the trash....
That I'd poured in the wrong seasoning.
*face palm*

I also had a packet of Taco Seasoning on the counter, for the taco meat.
And had grabbed that, not thinking, instead of the rice-roni seasoning I should have.

So I had a great "well now what?" moment, watching the seasoning dissolve into the water.
Like. Would I pour the water out and start a new with boiling water and just save the taco seasoned water for when it came time to add it to the taco meat?

Nah....lol I actually didn't think about that until later.

No, my solution was to just roll with it.
I kept the rice in the taco seasoning.
And saved the rice-roni packet to pour onto the taco meat.

I mean...both would end up in the same dish.
So hopefully that would mean the flavors would end up tasting somewhat proper even if they were placed on the wrong.

And it worked!!
The family didn't notice a difference. Thought it tasted just as good. ^^;;

Lol yay for things working out in my favor! :D

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

Twas Wrong

I ordered pizza today.
Something that happens every now and then.

And as usual, I made the request online that I didn't want any sauce on said pizza.

Because well...I don't like red sauce.
It just doesn't have a good taste for me.

So I specified that I didn't want it.
As the pizza place hasn't had any issues with this request before.
I didn't think much of it.

Until the pizza showed up.
And I opened the box.

And discovered that they'd made the pizza with red sauce.

Y_Y
It was a depressing moment.
Like....I wanted pizza.
And I could have still tried to eat the one I got.
But like...I knew I wouldn't.
Because I don't like red sauce.

*exhales*

But Kikay. She heard me cry of "nooooo"
And was like "What's wrong?"

So I told her.

And she was like "You want me to call the store?"

And I was like...I could just leave a review on the webpage as I knew there was a place there.

But Kikay wasn't having it.
After all.
I'd paid for the pizza.
I'd bought pizza for all of us.
And it wasn't fair that I paid for it...and then wasn't going to get the pizza I ordered.

Nope.
She called up the store while I was in the middle of writing my review. Giving stars and such.

And the pizza place.
They were like "Oh! Are you order #####? We just saw that we made a mistake and we're putting your correct pizza in the oven right now!"

^^;; Yay.
So in the end.
I got my pizza with no sauce!
Yay!! ^^;;
Nom nom nom so tasty.

I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

A New Place

I grew up with the commercials.
They were constantly on TV.
The jingle, even now, is stuck in my head.
"Reeeed Rooobbbiinnnss!!! Yum!!"

But before tonight.
I'd actually never gone to Red Robins.
Never really had the desire to. Or an interest in it.

Don't ask me why.
Its just one of those places that I see every now and then...but never have a desire to go check out.

Well tonight.
My family and I went there.
For most of us it was the first time.

And I honestly have to wonder....why we haven't gone before.

Because the food was surprisingly tasty. Flavorful. Delicious.

Admittedly I didn't try their hamburgers...but their BLT on a crossiant was simply delicious. ^^;;

And the oddest thing...
was their Fries and Sauce.

Like they have this BBQ fry sauce where I was like...Oh...that's....I can't decide if I like it or not.

But then Kikay suggested that I try dipping my fries in their ranch.
Which...while Ranch is delicious with a lot of things...
Ranch and Potatoes ....just doesn't seem like a good combination....It still doesn't.
But Red Robin's ranch sauce with the fries....Wow.
It was amazing.
A tingling of flavors bursting in my mouth.

lol.
Seriously I can see now why people enjoy eating there.
I may just have to see if I can return sometime in the near future and see if it was a fluke or not that the food tasted that great. ^^;;;

I'll be watching the leaves.

Three Reasons to Serve

It's fun to randomly help out someone.
Like DaBo yesterday with him forgetting that class started. lol.

But yesterday, there was more service available.
Though my motives weren't fully pure ;) lol.
Yesterday there was a Men's Appreciation Luncheon at the Institute.
-The Women had an Appreciation Luncheon last month-
Yep yep ^^ Ladies first lol.
But it was the men's turn this time around.
Where the guys get to eat food for free!
(they got wings, potatoes, and ice cream bars. Ooo. -Girls got chicken salad sandwiches, chips, and a brownie. ....I like potatoes more :D lol even though the sandwiches were on croissants ^^ which are delicious)
And while the guys eat food for free...the girls serve them :) dishing up their food and taking away their plates when they were done. (guys did the same for the girls)

I ended up getting out of class early. So I went and volunteered.
Why?
Three reasons.
1.) Guys deserve a little love every now and then :P
2.) I wanted to check out the guys. ;) You know, see if there were any cute ones.
and
3.) I was hungry.

You see, if you volunteer to help out...you get to eat the food as well after your shift is over. :D
Baked Potato for me! YES! :D haha.

Yep, totally selfish of me to volunteer. :) But I had fun anyway serving the guys ^^ lol.
I liked seeing their faces light up when they saw the food and they could have it for free ^^

But after my shift was over, I didn't stop serving. :)

You see, there was a guy I knew of, who was dedicated to his mentoring group, and couldn't come to lunch. Sooo I brought the food to him. :)
lol it was worth it to see the gratitude on his face. ^^ Because I think he was really hungry, from how he responded to my texts. lol.
Yay for service! ^^

Now.... >.>
<.< where are those potatoes?

^^;;; (I did get one when I was done to eat ^^ It was delicious!)

Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.

The Dream

I can only remember there being three people. Two girls, tall, wearing robes, pale, kinda creepy looking next to a shorter woman...the red headed woman from the Lorax. With her red hair in straight out pigtails. There was something...creepy going on....
But that's all I can remember :(

The Grip of Salsa

Last night, I decided to have Nachos.
Having bought the ingredients to have Nachos. :) I was all excited to have Nachos.

Quick how to make:
Ingredients.
1. Bag of Salsa Chips
2. Cheese
3. Your favorite salsa
4. A grater if your cheese isn't already shredded.

What to do:
Get a plate that is microwave friendly. (probably should be in ingredients...hmmm)
Spread a nice layer of Salsa Chips on the plate.
Then cover those chips with a nice layer of shredded cheese.
Place in the microwave until the cheese is melted 10-40 seconds depending on how much cheese you put on there.
Take out of microwave.
Pour salsa into a bowl.
Sit down and Eat!
Its delicious!
and maybe somewhat healthy...
Okay, I have no idea how healthy cheese, salsa chips and salsa are...but it must count for something. :)

Anyway, back on topic.
Last night I was making Nachos.
And I had the thought while I was spreading the chips onto the plate.
"Perhaps I should open the salsa first." -It was a new bottle.
I ignored this thought. "I'm sure I can open it later."
Then as I was spreading the cheese on top.
"Perhaps I should check to see if I can open the salsa first."
Again I thought to myself "Nah, I got this."
So I stuck the chips in the microwave to melt the cheese.
Pulled out the salsa and.....
Couldn't open it.
So...I tried again.
Couldn't open it.
The microwave had beeped by this point.
And I was starting to panic and kick myself mentally.
I should have opened the salsa first! I should have opened the salsa first!
Now I'm going to have to eat just nachos, and I want the salsa!
So I tried placing the lid under hot water and opening it.
It didn't work.
And there was nobody else home to ask for help.
So fully depressed....
I put the salsa back.
And went to the microwave. The cheese hadn't fully melted so i put in for a bit longer.
And decided...
I'll try one more time.
So i pulled the salsa out.
And walla!
It Opened!
My Nachos were saved!
Woot! :)

So moral of the story....
If something needs to be opened via lid.
Open that first!
Or risk ruining a perfectly good meal. :)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I had been picked to be on this season's project runway.
There were a bunch of other people there.
Like Gretchen, the girl who one last season's project runway.
And Charlene Gibbs - a neighbor woman.
Among others.
We were in somebody's huge living room.
And our job was to basically take our clothes,
and turn them into fashion in two days.
Personally I was willing to take the challenge, but I was a little freaked out.
Since I've never designed anything before.
But I set to work anyway.
And I had apparently been wearing one of those 'wraps' that you use to for strained leg purposes.
I liked the texture of them, so i started cutting them out into sock shapes, along with other socks i had.
and piecing them together,
until somebody commented that it didn't look that good.
and that it probably wouldn't work for the shirt i had in mind.
maybe it was a skirt, anyways, whatever object of clothing...it didn't work with.
So I went back through going through my clothes.
and I came across these really long socks...they were like tights except they socks didn't connect together.
They were stripped, black and purple.
So I cut through one of the socks to lie it flat.
And Gretchen was kind enough to show me a technique to help make it into a shirt.
She liked my idea.
So I worked on different projects working with stripes, and bright colors as well a material that was bright, but had a sheer black lining over it.
Until Tim Gunn came in to tell us we were done for the night.
Everybody else packed up their stuff.
But I had trouble, because I'd somehow acquired ALOT of scrapes in my workings.
Enough to fill two laundry baskets.
So by the time I got outside...of my house.
everyone else had left.
But lucky me I had the keys to my car. -Green Tracker.
So I put my stuff into the car, but I couldn't back up because
the owner's yellow bug was blocking my exit.
But just then the husband of the house pulled up in his Red Camero...corvette? some fancy C car.
He was tall, had black hair, and was handsome ^^;;;
And I kindly asked him if he could move his yellow bug so that I could leave.
He did so,
But before I could back up...
he pulled in the red sports car.
And basically got out and said. "Are you crazy! That's my car! I'm not going to let you take it!"
I was like "No, no, I can drive this car, I have a license, please I need to get back to the other designers."
He basically didn't believe I was who I said I was.
And somewhere in there Tim Gunn showed up wondering why I hadn't left yet.
and the discussion turned more to me being the Tall Dark and Handsome's daughter.
And we had to tell his blonde and fancy prissy wife the news.
Eventually I got home....
But by that time I would have had to wake up in like an hour.
So I just decided to stay up, because it was pointless to go to sleep.
Besides, I had all day tomorrow to work on my disguise.
Tim Gunn came in again....he looked as tired as I was...I think he had to walk there.

I think Day 2 I spent working more with the clothes. I had found two hollow wrist things, one purple/black the other green black, that I thought might make cool shirtless sleeves.
That day went by, but we didn't have a fashion show the next morning.
Instead we were going to do some...event...maybe a marathon? it involved exercise...
So we were allowed to go to the hotel's cafe. And grab breakfast.
I ended up getting a bagel and some packages of butter and jam to put on the bagel.
I sat down, and next to me sat J.K. Rowling.
She asked if we could share the butter, and I said sure!
but..there wasn't enough, but i was helpful and grabbed her some more.
I ended up by myself however eating my bagel. -I only had taken one bite, but it was sweet.
Listening to J.K. Rowling saying she had just finished getting presents for her 13 kids (idk if it were kids or grand kids...some were adopted) and that she'd got stuffed cars (like Cars Characters) basically all of Lightning McQueen but with different numbers on them. She got two of each.
and somebody commented why not get a car with 13 on it?
She was like "I wish they made that number" -its unlucky.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

A Dirty Brownie Dish Day

I made brownies a week ago.
All chocolaty, crumbly, and w/ strawberry frosting on top.
Sooo delicious!
(Seriously, if you haven't tried it. Put strawberry frosting on your brownies the next time you make them. They're ooober good!! Super ooober good!!)
Unfortunately, with this batch of brownies...
They were more sticky....as in....wouldn't come out of the pan without leaving a mess on the pan sticky/crumbly.
I'm not sure why....perhaps I added in too much flour? Or else the 'nonstick' spray thing isn't working.
I thought spraying the pan would make it not stick...but it seems like the opposite happened.
Anywho.
By the end of the adventure of eating brownies.
We were left with a pan..that was full of brownie crust things.
The easy and simple means of cleaning a brownie pan.
(okay idk about the easy part)
Is to stick the tray in the sink. Fill it up with water -some soap too perhaps
and then let it soak for a bit, then dumb out the dirty mess and use a sponge to wipe it clean.
Well...I only got to the 'fill it up with water and stick it in the sink part
Before I took a detour.
You see....the sink faucet thingymababber in our apartment.
Has a sprayer attached.
:) I love the sprayer.
I find it fun to spray dirty dishes to cleanness
Instead of scrubbing them.
That way my hands don't get dirty and wrinkly.
(I hate doing dishes.)
And this tray.
Was the motherload of dirtiness.
With chunk of brownies still inside.
And I thought it would be rather disgusting.
To leave huge soggy bits of brownie mix in the tray for who knows how long.
(I tend to get distracted.)
*Gag* Thinking of those huge soggy bits of brownie...its just as bad as wet bread.
*gags* Ughalicious ickness.
Back on topic.
Soooo
For kicks and giggles.
I decided to spray the brownie dish to pieces.
(Hmm I wish I had taken video of it. It was rather cool to watch...in a gross way.....chunks of brownies flying everywhere! :P lol)
So I sprayed the dish until it was filled with water and swimming bits of brownie.
And I was like "That is gross."
My first instinct was to just spray the bigger chunks so that they were loose in the water
-Easier to clean off when I dumped it out.
But staring at that murky water...
I didn't want to have to maneuver a thing full of ickysoggy brownie stuff to dump it out.
So I grabbed the sprayer.
Angled it just so.
And let loose!
Woot!
I would compare the sudden ride the brownie remains took
to a whirlpool, rapids, and waterfall stage.
I shot the water into the corner of the pan.
And created a whirlpool effect.
Since the force of the sprayer water hit the stagnant water and pushed it away...
Into a fun little circle sending all the brownie stuff on a ride.
Weee!! :P
Specifically I was focusing on areas with alot of brownie gunk.
Then I moved to the corner.
Where I angled the sprayer just so.
To send a constant spray of water over the edge of the brownie pan
in a white foaming mass of awesomeness.
So recap.
Whirling mess of brown stuff.
Now has an outlet away from the whirlpool.
So what do the brownie pieces do?
They follow the whirlpool to the outlet
And Ziiiingggg!!
Over the edge they go to crash into the sink and then go down the drain into nothingness.
But, it was interesting.
Because there were a few bigger chunks of brownies.
That would try to take the outlet.
But wouldn't make it...
So they'd fall back down into the whirlpool for another go around the brownie pan to try again.
and again
and again
and again
Until I changed the angle enough to shoot the poor piece out into the sink.
Sometimes I had water shooting out with such force,
that the water in the pan would drain away.
So I would have to pause.
Spray a different spot, let the faucet fill the pan back up again,
then start the chaos all over again!
The result.
A lot of time wasted in this simple entertainment plus, A clean pan :)
Woot!

It was fun, and almost exhilarating.
I'm more awake now then I was before cleaning that pan for sure.

Perhaps when i confront every cleaning task i should think to myself

On to the next Great Adventure!
Adventure is out there! (quoting UP)
Just make the task seem like an epic adventure for all the different pieces involved.

Perhaps then, then....doing the dishes will be fun.
...Not.
Well...okay...
Only if I get to spray them to death, then that would be fun.
If it involves scrubbing...I'm totally going to go wrestle with the laundry instead. Or even my room.
The room sounds more intense.

The Dream

At one point it was like i was in a business meeting.
Some guy asked what day Aug the 5th was on
He had on a white shirt and tie.
I was like: I know!
So I started to say Tuesday.
But on Tues--I was like no, its not loud enough so I said

"TUESDAY!"
Really loud...out loud...I woke up saying that.
Then rolled over and went back to bed.
And dreamt I was in school again oddly enough.
It was like i was returning after a sudden catastrophe.
To find everything the way it was.....

Unfortunately...Aug the 5th is on a Friday, not a Tuesday
But I was right for July the 5th that was on a Tuesday :)

Watermelon Seeds

Watermelon seeds.
I was often told when I was younger.
That swallowing the black seeds from the watermelon
Would result in a watermelon growing in my stomach.

Yah, I didn't buy that.
If eating seeds from pumpkins and sunflowers didn't result in me getting those plants growing in my stomach.
Why would eating watermelon seeds result in that?
Because its a fruit?
Well...strawberries have seeds in them...and no strawberry plants have grown in my stomach :P lol

Anyway.
I figured, on the off chance it was true.
That if I chewed the seeds that would destroy any chance of the seed being able to grow.

And...I got a sideffect from this decision.

I like to eat the seeds.
Its my favorite part of eating Watermelon
The seeds.
They just give the fruit a different flavor :)
A good flavor
That I relish.

So while everyone else has to go find a place to spit out their watermelon seeds.
I happily sit and chew mine.
:)

The Dream

I was on the run.
I'd done something at a house a block away.
And the cops were now after me.
I ruined some party my sister was in charge of.
So I ran.
I stopped by 'my house' which was my grandparents house.
And grabbed my laptop...ipod...Jasper and Frisbee
Basically the bare basics.
And dashed away using the darkness to cover me.
I was just in time too because the cops screamed around the corner seconds later.
I ducked down behind a fence and there was a young boy with me, hiding as well....
I ended up taking cover in a church. -my church by my parent's house
And encountered people doing a service project.
They had a tray full of homemade suckers.
that I kinda played with picking up one and setting it down, rearranging the tray.
Eating a few of them.
As we discussed what to do.

Then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

Leftovers

I'm very picky when it comes to eating leftovers.
Very picky usually my policy is 'No leftovers for me!"
But I do make exceptions to the rule every now and then.
I will for example eat left over Chinese, tuna casserole, and riceroni.
Because they still taste pretty good when reheated.
Other things though....their taste becomes different after its cooled down
and then reheated...hence...not good tasting...and me not eating it.
:) But I must say ^^ The Tuna Casserole was very good as leftovers. Yum.

The Dream

Kikay and I were heading back to our apartment to grab a few things we missed.
And on our way up to the stairs leading to our house like apartment
I ran into Jackie, my old roommate.
She was coming back to move her stuff out because she was getting married.
But she had a mother and son in tow with her.
She was telling them, that it should be fine for the boy (he was shy, didn't fit in with the other apartment building) to move into our apartment because she was sure it was empty for the summer and that she thought the office had said it would be a boy's apartment once she moved out.
I was like: No! That's wrong! Kikay and I are living there! We can't have a boy in our apartment!!
Yet they didn't seem to hear me.
And they went right into the bedroom that Kikay and I shared.
I told them that he couldn't stay in the same room as us. (there were three beds)
But that the room next to us was empty.
The boy embarrassed went into the other room.

And I decided to help Jackie move things out of her room.
But I got distracted for a moment because my dog Pepper had gotten out.
And I needed to get her back inside.
Once inside Kikay and I discovered Jackie's wedding dress.
And for fun...I decided to try it on.
I couldn't see why Jackie liked the thing.
It just looked big on me and since I'm rather small...it would look bigger on her.
Plus it was one of those sleeveless dresses where you had to breathe very carefully or risk it falling off of you.

And then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

A Moment of Forgetfulness

I had to go to the dentist today.
For my six month check up...
to see if I would be one of those 'lucky' victims selected to have cavity's needing to be filled.
It was a long drive up from my apartment.
So I went the route of eating some breakfast, brushing my teeth and intending to wait til after the appointment to eat a much wanted lunch. That way when I dropped by my house, if I didn't have enough time I wouldn't have to rush brushing my teeth.
Well...that didn't go exactly as planned.
I ended up in the backyard of my home.
And I remembered. My old roommate had had peas ready to eat.
And I knew that we were growing peas in the garden.
In the backyard.
So what did I do?
Yep. I wandered over to find them.
And I encountered!!
Strawberries ^^
Bright. Red. Juicy.
Yes. I popped two into my mouth then and there, enjoying their juicy deliciousness.
Before I continued my hunt for peas.
Because they'd been moved from their usual place. >.< Instead Tomatoes..not yet right were there.
And for a moment I was devastated, thinking that I'd missed the Peas, that they were gone, that they hadn't been planted like I was told.
But then!
Eureka!!
I found them.
Behind me.
And it was then.
Only then, after snarfing ten of them into my mouth.

That I remembered my earlier thoughts of...
DO NOT EAT TIL AFTER THE DENTIST
*sighs* A Moment of Forgetfulness.
And my teeth got a second bath in toothpaste.
Curse those Delicious Peas and Strawberries.
Oh well. ^^ It was an early reward.
I received the all clear cavity-wise!! Woot!

The Dream

I was in a grocery store line checkout stand...but it was in a restaurant.
I was trying to buy something and my cashier ended up being Jackie. (an old roommate)
But she wasn't really helping me.
I finally got my thing bought (not by jackie)
...and spotted her sitting down with a boy in a restaurant styled booth.
I went over to say Hi. Since I hadn't seen her in a while.
But she was...distant.
I asked her if the boy was her fiancee.
She wouldn't tell me a straight answer.
I asked what time her wedding reception was (she's getting married this weekend)
And she wouldn't answer.
I asked if she sent me a wedding invite (she sent one to another old roommate)
And she wouldn't give me a straight answer.
So basically I threw my hands up at her. (not literally but that's how I felt)
And left. Headed back home.
It wasn't a fun walk.
I was in heels walking downtown in the direction of the Gateway, or my Mom's work.
And I was trying to walk quickly because it was getting late.
But...it wasn't working. I felt sluggish. And I moved rather slowly.
With a more determined step then a quick one.
Though there were people around me; a woman with blonde hair, a guy that was kinda balding in a jacket.
Going in the same direction. But I wanted to move quicker and it wasn't happening.
I eventually came to the entrance of one of the skyscrapers and went inside
intending to cut through to the otherside to continue my journey home.
But there were a group of women standing in the middle of the building.
And they looked familiar as I approached.
They were taller then I remembered though. It seemed like they all were 'basketball player' sized.
But I was positive that they were teachers from my Elementary School.
One looked like Mrs. Call my 5th grade teacher.
But most of the others were teachers I've seen, but never been taught by.
Like Mrs. Thorton, Mrs Norton. And others.
I went up to Mrs. Thorton because she was slightly shorter then the rest.
And I was like "You look familiar"
She said the same thing "You look familiar too."
"Mrs. Thorton?" I asked.
And she said "Yes."
I told her who I was and we had a nice 'reunion'
Where she hugged me and invited me to stay for the celebration and I got to talk to the other teachers.
And I found out they were basically having a 'reunion' party.
For a 'special' teacher.
My fourth grade teacher Mr. Danielson.
For being the 'only guy teacher' in the school.
Which was odd...I remember Mr. Unger, and another guy teacher being at the school.
But in Elementary Mr. Danielson was my first guy teacher.
I was over away from the door when He walked in.
Everybody flocked around him saying congratulations and all that type of stuff.
And my brother Meralto was suddenly there.
Though he looked to be really young. 5 or 6.
Mr. Danielson spotted him first and thought he looked familiar.
He kept trying to get my brother to talk.
But it wasn't working.
-Apparently Meralto had Mr. Danielson in first grade as a teacher after he stopped teaching the 4th grade.
(Not true. Mr. Danielson taught for one year then moved to a different school entirely to teach.)
But when I came up to Mr. Danielson he caught the family resemblance.
And I think he recognized me.

But the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

The Wannabe Chef Experimental Ideas

I think if I had a willing group of lab rats.
Money to spare.
and all the implements of cooking needed in my kitchen.
That I would have a blast trying out different recipes of my own design.
Sadly, I have not the time nor the group of lab rats to test out my food ideas.
And it seems a shame waste to experiment on food...that might not get eaten because it might not taste good.

Here are a couple of ideas I have....that on hindsight....probably won't work at all. But it was an intriguing idea at the time.

The first. Was having a BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato) as well as pepperoni and cheese on toasted bread.
-It wasn't that original, I think Subway has a sandwich similar in style.
But the idea seemed...unappetizing to me. Mostly because I didn't think pepperoni would taste good with Miracle Whip and Mustard and I wasn't sure bacon and pepperoni would go together. Yah...plus I had no lettuce. :( Soo while the idea seemed great in the beginning...after thinking about it....it really didn't seem like it would taste that good.
I think the idea would be similar to when I put pepperoni in with Ramen noodles a year or so ago. While it was edible, it was not delicious and I haven't tried to have it since.

The second idea, which I might try once I figure out how is to have...Enchilada Steak.
Where I get some steak and I season it with Enchilada sauce and serve it on a bed of rice that has been seasoned as well...in the Spanish style. Not sure how to do Spanish rice...but I'm willing to figure it out lol :)
My hang up here....besides not having half of the ingredients....is that I don't know if Enchilada sauce would work with a nice steak. I know it works with beef and chicken and beans because those meats are often served in the enchilada style. But would it work with a full steak. not something cut into pieces? Will the rice work with it? Perhaps if I just use Enchilada sauce for both....
I don't know.

But there is a glimpse inside my mind of some food ideas I'd love to try....when I'd have more then one person (besides myself) to test it out on. :) lol.
Perhaps this summer will yield more results once school is done with and I'll have more time to make the time to prepare food. :D lol.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I was in a dark room with a group of other people. (5 or 6 total)
We were tied up and not likely to go anywhere soon.
I was looking at one of the girls. She had pale skin and black hair and I noticed that her arm was glowing...
she had a black mark that looked like an arrow...that was twisting and moving.
I told the others, but they couldn't see it.
Only I could see it apparently.
Or only I could see it soo clearly.
It tended to fade in and out. Clear one moment then gone the next.
Then...a creature of some sort...black in color came off of her arm by her direction and went up the wall over the ceiling and attacked me.
In the end...I had a green neon glowing arrow on my own arm.
Other people also had arrows in different colors, Red and Yellow, maybe purple.
I know that Red and Yellow survived. But other colors...other people weren't strong enough to survive the change. Because apparently the arrow instigated...a kind of shape shifting. Like you could shift into a wolf.
But I was strong enough to survive.

I was with my best friend ( a guy) and we were arguing on a back porch. He had darker skin and black hair (he reminded me of a young Michael Jackson) I think he was jealous of my arrow.
I ended up pushing him and he fell over the railing and landed on the car below.
But I....wasn't concerned. I pushed him then left and never looked back.
The fall ended up 'killing the best friend" though I didn't know that.
however. He wasn't dead. He was given the chance to live again.
His skin turned a shade of green and his hair was a bit more stringy and stuck out in all directions.
There was a guy -that I couldn't see- who recited a...spell...a set of conditions.
Basically what they said was that by night. The best friend would have to obey the voice. But during the day. It would seem like he was just himself. Not dead, just like any other normal being, but totally oblivious to the fact that the voice now basically 'owned' his soul.
So by day he would be human.
And by night he'd be this green Frankenstein type of zombie creature.
(He was basically a zombie now....at least by night. by day I would notice nothing was wrong.)
And my goal was to try and break him from that curse.

And then the unholy tones of daylight pulled me away....
and I became myself again.

Extra Info.
-This is the first time I've dreamt of a 'zombie' concept.

And that
Is why the fox never came home. :)

Chicken Enchilada Chili

There is a favorite place of mine, where I've only ever bought one thing.

And that one thing is
Chicken Enchilada Chili
yummy yummy ^^ its sooo GOOD!! lol :)
I only go to the place every now and then.
-Not often enough to get sick of the C.E.C
So I've as of yet haven't had a reason to try something else lol :)

The place?
Its called Zupas.

Its a Sandwich/Salad/Soup place (and has desert too!)
And its servicing style is like a cross between a restaurant and subway.
Where you can pick your food toppings but they bus your tables for you. :)

I first discovered Zupas at basically my first year here via my favorite roommate :)
Me, she, and another friend had crashed at the bishoprics house.
(I think we had been kicked out of the apartments (contracts were up) and were looking for a place to stay, so we crashed at the bishops house when it was only the wife home.)
We'd gone to see a movie and then decided to grab dinner afterwards.
The place chosen by the friend and roomie?
Zupas.
Now having never been there before....
I had no idea what to expect.
So I looked on the vast menu for something sounding good.
And I came across
Chicken Enchilada Chili.
Now,
I like chili, I like enchiladas....wasn't so sure about the chicken, but I decided to try it anyway.
AND IT WAS AWESOMELYFANTABULARLYSPECTACULAR!!
^^ oooo!!!
my tastes buds dance happily whenever I eat it lol.
That first time i made the mistake of adding in cornchipstrips to the bowl, but since that time its just the C.E.C with cheese. :) lol.

Its sooooo yummy good I do my best to get every single drop out of the bowl and into my mouth lol.

And i haven't mentioned the cooler parts yet!
With each bowl of soup (always order half a bowl, the full bowl is big enough for two people)
(or each meal you get.....since you can choose a variety of sandwiches, salads, other soups, and combinations of all three)
You also get some bread....

And Chocolate covered Strawberries!!!
^^ Always the sweetest part lol :)
I save it for last to finish a delectable meal. lol
Another one of my friends eats the Strawberry first....that way if he dies before the meal is over....he at least ate the best part lol.
Its understandable logic.
But man, the C.E.C is heaven sooo the Strawberry is like....Glory in Heaven or whatever,
So its all good man, its alll good lol ^^

So I really highly jumping up and down, recommend if you have a Friday night free and you want to go out, to go find the nearest Zupas you can and try it out. (if you don't live near one.....I'm so so so so sorry Y_Y)

-Its not that expensive of a place either. (unless you want a drink) you can get most meals for under $5 at least the half bowl of soup plus drink plus bread plus strawberry is aprox.$6 and change. :)

I don't think anybody I've taken there (or suggested the place to) has been disappointed yet :D

(and don't you be the first!!! ya hear?! Its good!! ;) lol)

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
