187th Annual General Conference -Sunday Sessions

Sunday Morning

Thomas S. Monson
  • A strong testimony will help see us through to Safety.
  • Read the Book of Mormon each day. It will help you.
  • It's essential for you to have your own testimony in these difficult times for the testimonies of others will only take you so far.
  • Once you have a testimony, work to keep it alive! Keep the flame bright and burning!
Joy D. Jones
  • There can be no Neutrals in this War. We must pick a side.
  • We each bear responsibility to help train the forces of the Lord for the battle. Help them to not defect to Satan's side.
  • We must understand our—and their—divine identity and purpose before we can help our children see who they are & why they are here.
  • Being Sin Resistant doesn't mean being SinLess. It means continuing to repent and continuing to try to be better.
  • The call for courage comes constantly for each of us. Every Day in our Lives, Courage is Needed.
  • Start early. Be steady.
  • Teach your children to keep simple promises when young, so that they will have the ability to keep more complex promises when older.
  • I kept my promise because I Said I Would.
  • Don't base your obedience on the hopes of being delivered in the end. Keep your covenants because you SAID you would.
  • Help others to taste success in small bites.
  • Children are great imitators so give them something Great to Imitate.
Yoon Hwan Choi
  • All of us are in the middle of an Eternal Family. Our role can be a turning point in positive Or negative ways.
  • Don't be the weak link in holding your family together.
  • Look around. Look UP! Look up to Christ!
  • Do not Loose your Faith because of the people around you.
  • Go out in the rain. Look up to Heaven. Open your mouth. DRINK IT!
  • It is not easy for us to recognize the love of Heavenly Father if we only look around with Temporal Eyes.
  • May we ever choose the Harder Right, rather than the Easier Wrong.
  • Don't worry. We are an eternal family. We will have time to be together.
Ronald A. Rasband
  • Joy that fill our Souls, bring with us an eternal perspective in contrast to day to day living.
  • The Spirit of the Lord doesn't stay in unholy places.
  • We must be willing to receive the Spirit and place ourselves in places where we can more easily feel his influence.
  • Sometimes you need to stick your foot in the door.
  • As we pursue the journey of life. Let us learn the language of the spirit.
  • Have you hardened your heart to the point where you can't feel the spirit? Take time to soften it now. Feel the Love God has for you.
  • Act on the First Prompting!
  • Be confident in our First promptings instead of rationalizing them away and second guessing ourselves.
  • If you will listen to the First Promptings you will get it right 9 times out of 10.
  • Don't expect to get fireworks everytime you listen to the Spirit. Remember, the Holy Ghost is a Still. Small. Voice.
  • First promptings are Pure Inspiration from Heaven. Never let them Slip Past.
  • Think of yourself as a First Responder.
  • Put your trust in that Spirit that Leadeth to do Good.
L. Whitney Clayton
  • With God. Nothing is Impossible.
  • Do you exercise a simple trust in God?
  • Simple Acts of Faith deepen our Well of Spiritual Capacity to deal with the Trials and Challenges of Life.
  • God Shores Up Our Weaknesses, Increases our Joys, Allows us to be able to Stand Up in the face of Trials.
  • If life seems over complicated, return to the simple practices of Faith.
  • The answer doesn't always need to be complicated or hard. The small, simple, and easy things in the gospel can take us far.
  • Small acts of Faith even if the seem insignificant or unconnected with our current problem, can still bless us in what we do.
  • If you're asked to do a small task, shouldn't you do it? Even if you don't understand why?
  • God rarely shows us his timetable for when we will receive our blessings. We need to bear with him and trust him.
  • Stand firm in the trial of our faith.
  • In order for God to direct our paths we need to Walk, trusting he will guide us in the proper way.
Dallin H. Oaks
  • The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Love of God and the Communion of the Holy Ghost be with you All.
  • We believe that the nature of God and our relationship to Him is knowable and the key to everything else in our doctrine.
  • The Savior's “supernal sacrifice” is truly called “the central act of all human history.” The Spirit will teach us all things, bring all things to our remembrance, and guide us in all truth.
  • The Comforter can help us in the Challenges of Mortality.
  • It is more than acquiring knowledge, or being convinced in the gospel. We must act and think so we are converted by it.
  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ Challenges us to Become Something.
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
  • Historically, Fear has often been used as a means to convince others to take Action.
  • Some thing we will never fall of manipulation to get us to do what others want us to do. But we sometimes do.
  • Do we use fear to motivate others? To motivate ourselves? Does it work? Or do we just end up resentful?
  • Fear rarely has the power to change our hearts or transform us to be better people.
  • The Fruit of the Spirit is: Love, Joy, Peace, Long suffering, Gentleness, And Temperance.
  • Heavenly Father wants to change our hearts, our very natures. He wants us to confront our fears. Step forward & upwards.
  • God wants us to step forward with confidence and take a firm hold on the Iron Rod. He wants us to move forward and upwards.
  • God IS on OUR side.
  • Rise Up. Try Again. Stand Firm.
  • Too many people suffer from circumstances of nature, but as well because of man's inhumanity.
  • We are blessed beyond measure to live in a day of such enlightenment and advances.
  • The Gospel shows us how to avoid dangers and to rise through the trials in our lives. To have hope.
  • God has given us many reasons to rejoice. We just need to find and recognize them.
  • We shouldn't burden ourselves or others with Constant Fear. Instead lift them up with Hope. Light, and Love.
  • We need not be paralyzed with fear because bad things MIGHT happen.
  • We don't walk the path of discipleship alone.
  • The Lord will Fight for You.
  • Walk with humility, dignity, and a bold confidence in Christ's perfect love.
  • Let us replace fear with Christ's perfect love. His love will replace fear with faith.
  • Let us turn obedience to God's commandments into a blessing instead of a burden.
  • There is No Fear In Christ's Love.

Sunday Afternoon

D. Todd Christofferson
  • Turn ye, turn ye, from your evil ways. For evil ways do not bring long lasting joy.
  • Sharing your knowledge can make all the difference.
  • The motivation for raising the warning voice is love—love of God and love of fellowman. To warn is to care."
  • Warn in mildness and meekness. It can be urgent, but it must be clear and sometimes firm.
  • Jesus was not hesitant to warn, neither should we be when others are heading down the wrong path.
  • Jesus taught his followers to do what he did. To welcome everyone, but to also teach and warn about sin.
  • In a Shame Culture there are no permanent standards, only the shifting whims of the crowd.
  • How much better it is to have the unchanging love of God by which we may act to choose our destiny.
  • Do you preach what you practice?
  • Do not Abandon those who would Welcome Truth to flounder and flare in ignorance.
  • May we be able to say to the Lord. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart, but shared it openly.
Joaquin E. Costa
  • If you feel confused by something you do not understand. Do not worry. You will learn in time.
  • If you are confused, don't worry. Remember the feelings you have experienced for they come from God.
S. Mark Palmer
  • Then Jesus beholding you, loved you.
  • It's not just the heart of others who needed changing, my own heart needs changing as well.
  • Learn to see others as the Lord sees them, not as we see them with our own lives. See them. See their potential. Love them.
  • Those who are the hardest to love, need love the most.
  • Love should never be withdrawn when a person fails to live up to our expectations.
  • Thank the Lord for loving you enough to invite you to do more and be more.
Gary E. Stevenson
  • It may be more fun to climb rocks instead of staying on the trail, but if we stay on the trail we avoid the rattlesnakes in our path.
  • The Holy Ghost can help you by warning you in advance of spiritual and physical dangers.
  • You may be removed from spiritual/physical danger without even knowing that you were in trouble in the first place.
  • The Holy Ghost will help you by Comforting you in times of Trial.
  • Stay close to the Spirit and the Spirit will stay close to You.
C. Scott Grow
  • As you study and ponder the scriptures you will come to know God and the Truths he teaches.
  • You may feel like you're a regular person, but you have a greater influence on others than you can fully realize.
  • God can make of us more than we can ever make of ourselves.
  • Never be afraid to ask to be healed in order for you to find relief while attempting to serve the Lord.
  • Courage my Friends! And on, On to the Victory!
Benjamin De Hoyos
  • The Gospel is a Standard that we can Rally to for Safety and Instruction for the trials we are in.
  • What do you need to do to become a Standard for the Nations? To be someone that others can look up to and rally to?
  • Of all the blessings that we can count, the greatest by far is the blessing of forgiveness.
  • The Goal of every follower of Christ is to teach the Pure Doctrine of the Gospel by the Spirit to Help God's children Progress.
  • We should not and MUST NOT hide our Light. Let our Light shine so that all around us can see it.
Quentin L. Cook
  • Personal foundations are usually built slowly, one layer, one experience, one challenge, one setback, and one success at a time.
  • Sometimes what seems like a small success to us is considered a Monumental Achievement to another.
  • We should build on our initial experiences, which may resemble baby steps, so that we can have a firm foundation later on.
  • Participating and going over the same subject multiple times in a row can have beneficial spiritual implications we don't yet understand.
  • Be of good comfort. Thy faith have made thee whole. Go in peace.
  • Remain faithful in the face of Challenges. They are there to test and try you. To help you grow and be better.
  • Fear not what Man can do. Because God will be with you Forever and Ever.
  • Our Faith in Jesus Christ is the Essential Foundation for our Eternal Exaltation and Salvation.
