Tragedy in the Heat

There was heartbreak at work yesterday.

A family, having to say goodbye to a beloved pet.

After a horrible, accidental accident.

So, apparently earlier in the day. Maybe as little as two hours, maybe most of the morning....
A son took the car to work.
For some reason the son parked the car in our parking lot, and then left to go to wherever he actually works. -Not in my store, but nearby enough that he could park there.

While he was gone, the family was searching.
For their dog.
They couldn't find it anywhere.
And had spent most of the day looking for the dog.
Before coming to my store, I'm guessing to pick up the car.

And there....
They found the dog.

Who'd been left in the car.
Without the family knowing.

I'm guessing the windows were rolled up, but even if they'd been cracked.....

It was hot outside.
Meaning that it was triplely hot inside the vehicle.

They rushed the dog inside to the vet clinic.

But it was too late. :(
The dog was either already dead, or died shortly after they entered one of the waiting rooms.

It was heartbreaking to see.
The whole family gathering together, crying, weeping, mourning.

A horrible accident.

And a strong reminder.
That you should never leave your pet in the car for any reason.
Especially with summer coming. With the hotter temperatures.
Animals can succumb quickly in the heat.

This family had to learn the hard way....
I hope others don't. :(

If you have to leave your pet in the car.
Don't take them in the first place.
Leave them at home.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!
