Boyd K. Packer -"I will Remember Your Sins No More"
  • "The preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just--yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else."
  • "Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world."
  • "O my son, I desire that ye should deny the justice of God; but do you let the justice of God, and his mercy, and his long-suffering have full sway in your heart; and let it bring you down to the dust in humility."
David A. Bednar -That We May Always Have His Spirit to Be with Us
  • God determines the conditions of all gospel covenants. You and I do not decide the nature or element of a covenant. Rather, exercising our moral agency, we accept the terms and requirements of a covenant as our Eternal Father has established them.
  • As we gain experience with the Holy Ghost, we learn that the intensity with which we feel the Spirit's influence is not always the same. Strong, dramatic spiritual impressions do not come to us frequently. Even as we strive to be faithful and obedient, there simply are times when the direction, assurance, and peace of the Spirit are not readily recognized in our lives.
  • The standard is clear. If something we think, see, hear, or do distances us from the Holy Ghost, then we should stop thinking, seeing, hearing, or doing that thing. If that which is intended to entertain, for example, alienates us from the Holy Spirit, then certainly that type of entertainment is not for us. Because the Spirit cannot abide that which is vulgar, crude, or immodest, then clearly such things are not for us. Because we estrange the Spirit the Lord when we engage in activities we know we should shun, then such things definitely are not for us.
  • Certainly the Spirit can be with us more than it is not with us.
  • Keep the spirit of the Lord and it will lead them right. Be careful and not turn away the small still voice; it will teach them what to do and where to go; it will yield the fruits of the kingdom.
David F. Evans -Your Mission Will Change Everything.
  • "You want to be happy? Forget yourself and get lost in this great cause, and bend your efforts to helping people."
Wolfgang H. Paul -The Gift of Agency
  • "Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself."
  • "This agency has always been the heritage of man under the rule and government of God. He possessed it in the heaven of heavens before the world was, and the Lord maintained and defended it there against the aggression of Lucifer and those that took sides with him. ... By virtue of this agency you and I and all mankind are made responsibility beings, responsible for the course we pursue, the lives we live, [and] the deeds we do."
  • Thus, our agency makes our life on this earth a test period. If we did not have this wonderful gift of agency, we would not be able to show our Father in Heaven whether we will do all that He commanded us.
  • In order for us to use our agency, we must have a knowledge of good and evil, we must have the freedom to make choices, and after we have exercised our agency, there must be consequences that follow our choices.
Russell M. Nelson -Nurturing Marriage
  • Marriage brings greater possibilities for happiness than does any other human relationship.
  • Marriages would be happier if nurtured more carefully.
  • True happiness is predicated upon personal purity.
  • To appreciate--to say, "I love you" and "thank you"--is not difficult. But these expressions of love and appreciation do more than acknowledge a kind thought or deed. They are signs of sweet civility.
  • To communicate well with your spouse--is also important.
  • Good communication includes taking time to plan together. Couples need private time to observe, to talk, and really listen to each other. They need to cooperate--helping each other as equal partners.
  • To contemplate ...contemplation allows one to anticipate and to resonate (or be in tune) with each other and with the Lord.
  • Above all, do not be selfish! Generate a spirit of selflessness and generosity.
L. Tom Perry -As Now We Take the Sacrament
  • If ye do always remember me ye shall have my Spirit to be with you.
  • If we were to become casual in partaking of the sacrament, we would lose the opportunity for spiritual growth.
  • May there be instilled in each of us an increased reverence for the Sabbath.
Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

-Sarnic Dirchi
