Ah. Friday the 13th.
Its like the three days of the full moon.
You just expect crazy/odd things to happen.
And unsurprisingly. It did at work. Things went wrong.
Nothing majorly wrong. Just wrong in the 'we can't do our job, this is taking waay too long, and it's frustrating' wrong.
1. Our registers were taking forever with card purchases. It would sit there and 'think' about every little key stroke. So a thirty second transaction could take upwards of 5 minutes depending on how the register was feeling at that particular moment.
2. We had trouble taking stock in our store, because or scanners couldn't connect to the mainframe.
3. Our phones for the store. We could pick up and hear the person on the other end, but if we were lucky, we'd only be able to say like three words before the other person wouldn't be able to hear us anymore. Talk about frustrating.
So, we were running a bit slower today at work, but we were managing to do what we could to keep the customers happy, and us a bit sane. :)
So why were we having trouble?
We're totally not sure.
One idea. We had a micro power outage yesterday that lasted for 5 seconds. It hadn't seemed to affect anything yesterday, but maybe it was a delayed reaction.
Another, all the rain we've been getting, got somewhere it wasn't supposed to.
And the last idea. There was some sort of construction going on nearby (as it was noisy and shook the whole building.) and they might have severed one of our connection lines by accident, making our techy stuff unreliable.
We may never know. It's the 13th after all. :)
Until you next see these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!
