My Arch Exploration!

I left my heart in Arches National Park.
Seriously, that vacation was waaaaayyyy too short.
But Oh. So. Satisfying!

Guys.
I found them.
I found Arches!!
Like, Off the Trail, 999/1000 people never see them, Arches.

*Squeal of delight*

Oh, you don't know how happy I am. ^^ It was wonderful! Totally an obsession I know lol.
Some people obsess over cars, tv shows, cats...me....it's Arches. For sure.

My trip didn't start out off Trail though.
As crazy as it is, as many times I've been to the park.
There were three arches, On Trail that I hadn't been to. (Or if I have I was very young.)

Sand Dune Arch

Such a beautiful arch, but hard to appreciate it in it's full splendor because it's a hotspot for children to play in. Tons of sand everywhere. Hence the name.

Broken Arch

This majestic Arch can actually be seen from the trail parking lot. O.O Who knew! It's huge too! Loved it. It was such a cool spot to hike too. ^^

Tapestry Arch

This arch is on trail, but totally not listed on the maps so most visitors don't even know it's there! Just as big if not bigger than Broken Arch it was super quiet. Only three other people wandered up while we were hanging out in it's shadow taking a break.

Diamond Arch

This Arch can actually be seen from the road for those with sharp eyes. But we ventured closer to it off the trail after walking over to Skyline Arch. ^^

Our Second Day of Arch Adventuring took place in the Devil's Garden part of the Park.
9 Hours and like 12 miles later we left Devil's Garden with 8 more Arches I hadn't seen before!! Haha! Do you know how totally thrilling and diabolical I felt to head off the trail. Waiting for just the right moment when there were no other hikers on the trail to disappear and reappear. It was tons of fun. ^^

Blocked Arch

Unknown Arch (it wasn't on my map of names so idk what it is)

Crystal Arch -Comprises of A North and South Arch. North being the bigger.

Unknown Arch (it wasn't on my map of names so idk what it is)

White Finned Arch

Unknown Arch  (it wasn't on my map of names so idk what it is)

Debris Arch

This arch is larger than the picture shows. It's of size and length to the fallen Wall Arch.

There were more Arches that we could have hiked to. But the day was getting away from us. We were getting tired. And Frankly... >.< Finding arches isn't as easy as the map suggests it will be. It is way different hiking it on the ground level as compared to looking at it from a top down view. *shakes head* Areas that looked to be passable ended up being nonpassable. >.< Due to towering rock towers and steep sandstone rockways, we had to meander and take roundabout ways to get to the Arches.
>.< Like just one fin over and down from Debris Arch was Black Arch. But due to the rock towers blocking the end of the fin canyon....we would have had to go around. *sighs.* Black Arch you will be visited next time!

This is Black Arch from the View Point. Next time. I will see it up close!

In any case.
I would say that my quest to discover new arches was a rousing success!! We had so much fun. ^^
Even unintended fun.
Our third day we changed our plans from going out to the Isolated Tower Arch (that I haven't seen since High School it feels like.) To instead go check out the nearby Canyonlands as we hadn't really visited there before. It was definitely a day to take easy, ha. Our leg muscles were killing us from all the hiking we did the day before. Short hikes were doing us in as we visited Upheaval Dome. :S

We had plans to go see the other outlooks on the main roads before circling back to Go see Mesa Arch (which I had not seen.) And my Dad planned to surprise me by taking me to go see the Gemini Bridges two sister arches right next to each other that I would have loved to see. ^^

Unfortunately. Plans...go astray.

And after seeing this wonderful view of the Green River at an Over Look

We came back to our Car to find.....it wouldn't turn on. The Starter had gone out on us.
We were stuck. In the middle of Canyonlands. :S
Thankfully we were at an overlook, so there were plenty of people passing by to help us out. (As compared to our original plan of Tower Arch...where we'd have been lucky if one person came by.)
We ended up seeing this view for a very very very long time. Watching the Sunset. As the nearest Tow Truck was 3 hours away. But finally. Finally we got our car towed to the shop and my dearest Sister Kikay drove down from CollegeTown to rescue us. (She tried to not go, but the redrocks would not have it. lol.)
So we had transportation back to HomeTown so those with work obligations could get back in time. ^^;; Everybody made it home safely including our car.
But it did mean that our adventure was cut short.

*sighs*
Ah well. ^^
I had a TON of adventure to satisfy me so I didn't mind the kibosh to our plans too much. I mean, guys. I FOUND ARCHES!
Arches that most people don't get to see!
Oooooh. Sooo excited. I had so much fun. So much adventure. I can't wait to do it again. I need a week if not two to go exploring to my hearts content in Red Rock Country. :D

Next time. Next time, more arches will be found. ^^ I can't wait.

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves. (And searching for more Arches. ;) )
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I remember talking to a person, and they asked if I would promise to obey them. I promised that I would, and as they opened their mouths to speak, my alarm rang out, waking me up. Which I found rather annoying. But I had promised to obey and the Alarm/Dream Person was obviously ordering me to get up. Grrrrr I wanted sleep! :)
