Come and Gone

We had a family reunion today.

Which, considering how big that side of the family is...

It was a rather small gathering.

But still.

It was a bunch more people than my parent's house has seen in a while lol.

I mean, when we used to do birthday parties with extended family when we were younger, we'd see that many people at our house.

But for the most part.

There aren't that many big groups that come to our house that often.

So whenever we do have a lot of people come over.

It's like the hordes are descending. lol.

Suddenly the street is full of cars, people are everywhere you look.

All chatting, laughing, eating, showing each other things.

It's crazy for a few hours.

Then they all disappear.

Driving down the street.

Out of site.

And it's like they were never there in the first place. O.o

It's rather crazy when you think about it.

How places can be mostly empty.

But then some sort of occasion happens.

Whether it's a reunion, a party, a fireworks show, a concert, a marathon....

And the once empty place is suddenly filled with people.

Crowds of them.

To the point where you think you're going to be overwhelmed and overrun.

Then as quickly as they came.

They're gone.

Leaving the place empty.

It's amazing how fast a place can fill up and empty.

How quickly people can now come from all over the world to gather in one spot and then return back to their homes.

It's crazy when you think about it. :)
