There's a Bend in That There Road

It's always fun to go on car trips.
Because then, at some point, you learn an interesting fact that you didn't know before.

For me, on this car trip the new fun fact is....

Mormons like Curvy Roads.

No. Seriously. There are bends in the roads that are known as the "Mormon Curve"
How does this happen?

Well...in old Mormon (LDS) settlements.
They would always place main street on a North/South line.
And so any highway road that was going into town,
would be built so that it would curve and entered along that North/South line of Main Street. That way the highway goes through the 'center' of town.
:D
I'd never noticed that before!
But here, I've seen it alot as we drive through different towns.
The road will be going along as it may depending on the terrain, but then it will gently curve,
enter the town's main street,
and then when you get to the other side of town
the road will curve again.
So it again goes in it's original direction.

Wow. lol I wonder if the construction people back then got annoyed with the LDS settlements.
"Oh no guys, here's another church town, you know them folk, we need to have our road come into main street. Start a curving.....now."
Curve road. Enter town. Go through town. Exit town. Curve road.
"Whew, okay guys, that's over with, let's continue getting across this state!"

haha ^^

Until you next read these words;
I'll be watching the leaves.
Enjoy the day!

The Dream

I dreamt alot about the Pottermore house cup being awarded, and different things I had to do to get points, or odd activities I was doing while waiting, and at one point Kikay came into the room and told me that Gryffindor had just barely won by 105 points. Heh. wish that would have happened.
