190th Semi-Annual General Conference Highlights -Saturday Sessions

Saturday Morning

Russell M. Nelson
  • Unusual times can bring unusual rewards.
  • While some projects may have been delayed, they are now moving forward.
  • Prayers change as we better understand what we and others need.
  • Our Spirits yearn to progress, and they progress more easily as we proceed along the covenant path.
  • Angels are watching over us.
  • Choose to hold on to the word of God and that you may feel the Lord's perfect love for you.
David A. Bednar
  • Periodic tests are absolutely essential to learning. They help to compare what we need to know with what we already know and we can figure out how to develop further our knowledge.
  • I pray as individuals and as families that we are learning the valuable lessons that the challenges in these trying times are teaching us.
  • If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
  • Procrastinating Preparation leads to unsuccessful Proving.
  • The best way to ensure that you can survive through the trials of life is to make sure you are prepared and that you can rely on yourself because you never know when others will be unable to help.
  • Blessed are those who lend an ear unto my counsel because they will learn wisdom.
  • Now is the time to prepare.
  • God knows the reason why events occur during certain times of testing.
  • Faithfulness is NOT Foolishness or Fanaticism. It is instead Trusting and placing our Confidence in our Savior.
  • Choices have to be made. Not making a choice is making a choice. Learn to choose now.
  • Choose. Prepare. Become devoted Disciples of the Savior.

Scott D. Whiting
  • Are you going down the path of least resistant and burning less calories than needed to get to where you need to be?
  • Are you half-hearted and lacking enthusiasm to follow and act upon the gospel of Christ?
  • Life should be lived.
  • I may not be able to make it to the top of the mountain, but at least I can make this next step right now.
  • There is distance between where we are and where we need to be.
  • Your Heavenly Father has a perfect view of you and will help you become a better person if only you will ask.
  • When we choose to repent we choose to become more like Jesus Christ.
  • Selfishly pursuing a gift from God will end in disappointment.
  • Your efforts to gain one attribute will become the tide to help you raise other attributes of Christ.
  • True Christianity has always required our Best Efforts.
  • You are Good Enough. You are Loved. But that does not mean that you are yet Complete.

Michelle D. Craig
  • Fear Not, for they that be with us are More than they that be with Them.
  • There may be times where you struggle to see how God is working in your life, where you feel under siege and trials bring you to your knees. Wait and Trust in God and in His Timing.
  • A Core Trait we all need to work on is seeing others Deeply and be willing to be seen.
  • See the Individuals. Their faith. Their needs. Their struggles. And Who they can Become.

Quentin L. Cook
  • Unity is enhanced when people are treated with dignity and respect even if they are different from us.
  • Being righteous is not dependent upon receiving every available blessing in our lives right now.
  • Love God. Love our Fellow Men.
  • We are all aware that we can do better. We can be a force of good to help lift society as a whole.
  • We need to accept EVERYONE as brothers and sisters and truly be a Zion People.
  • Unity and diversity are NOT opposites.
  • We can be united in our love of and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Strive to be a Zion People who are of One Heart and One Mind and Dwell in Righteousness.

Ronald A. Rasband
  • The Temple is a Sanctuary from the World.
  • Your Temple Recommend reflects a deep spiritual intent to live like Christ.
  • To be Recommended of the Lord is to be reminded of what is expected from a covenant keeping latter-day Saint.
  • Peace is promised within the Temple.
  • Being Worthy to attend the temple has not been suspended even while the temples have been closed.
  • Holding a current temple recommend is protection from the adversary.
Dallin H. Oaks
  • We will always have differences of opinion. However as followers of Christ we must forgo hatred and anger in regards to others opinions.
  • He that hath the Spirit of Contention is not of Me but is of the Devil.
  • Do not contend with anger.
  • When we are trying to understand and relate to people of a different culture, we should try to get to know them.
  • Love begets Love.
  • We need to expand our circle of love to embrace the whole human family.
  • Christ did not teach revolution or law breaking. He taught that those who keep Christ's laws do not need to break the laws of the land.
  • We obey the current law and use peaceful means to change the laws if we do not agree with the laws.
  • There is no grievance that is a fit object of redress by mob law.
  • We. Must. Do. Better.
  • It is possible to obey and seek to improve our nations laws and love our adversaries. While not easy it is possible with the help of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Saturday Afternoon

Henry B. Eyring -Sustaining of Church Officers

D. Todd Christofferson
  • A thriving society can fail in time if it abandons the cardinal virtues that uphold it's peace and prosperity.
  • When people turn from God and instead trust in the arm of flesh...disaster strikes.
  • We should devote more time to what makes a 'good' life rather than what makes a 'long' life.

Steven J. Lund
  • Sometimes courage in the faith of trials helps to inspire others to find their own courage in their own trials.
  • Our Youth cannot wait for the World to Right itself before they come to know the Savior.
  • If your Youth are struggling, other children and youth will help to bring them to the Savior and the Savior will bring them peace.

Gerrit W. Gong
  • God loves his children in Every Nation of the World.
  • We're invited to change the world for the better from the inside out.
  • As we increase our faith in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, we participate in fulfilling prophecy. We're changing ourselves and the world in a gospel pattern that blesses lives everywhere.
  • Everywhere we seek to be good parents and be good citizens and contribute where we are.

W. Christopher Waddell
  • The Lord's guidance will provide protection and support so long as we heed His counsel.
  • The Lord doesn't expect us to do More than we can do, but expects us to do What we can do.
  • All things are spiritual unto the Lord. He's never given us a law that is solely temporal.
  • The Lord will magnify our small and consistent efforts.
  • The Most Important Step you can take is to Begin.

Matthew S. Holland
  • We must never forget that the purpose of repentance is to take certain misery and transform it into pure bliss.
  • Regardless of the causes of our worst hurts and heart aches, the source of our relief is always the same. Our Savior Jesus Christ.
  • Let your mind catch hold on the exquisite gift of the Son of God.

William K. Jackson
  • An over fixation on one's cultural identity may lead to the rejection of worthwhile even Godly ideals and attributes.
  • In most manmade cultures there's found both good and bad, constructive and destructive.
  • We are all US we are all THEM.
  • All humankind can know the mind and will of God.
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
  • The Lord often uses adversity to bring about his purposes.
  • Even though this pandemic is not what we wanted or expected, God has prepared his children and His Church for this time. We will endure this. We will move forward and we will be better as a result.
  • A period of trial can be used to strengthen your character.
  • The righteous are not given a free pass that allows them to avoid the valleys of shadows. We must all walk through difficult times.
  • Because we are all God's children he will not abandon us.
  • God has something unimaginable in mind for you personally, and for the church collectively. A marvelous work and a wonder. Our best days are ahead of us not behind us.
  • We are moving forward and upward to places we have never been and to heights we can never imagine.
  • While you can't choose the adversities you'll encounter, you can choose how you can prepare and how you will react.
  • Face the facts and return to the fundamentals. In them you'll find strength.
  • Focus on the things you can do and not the things you can't do.
  • With Christ at the Helm things will not only be alright, but unimaginable.
  • In the past we may have been so tied to traditional approaches that it took a pandemic to open our eyes. We may have been using Sandstone as a foundation instead of the Granite that was right there.

  • Our faith increases everytime we exercise our faith.
  • Life without God is a life filled with fear. Life with God is a life filled with peace.
  • Never stop preparing. Even when things go well. Continue to prepare. Never become complacent.
  • Let us not just endure, let us embrace the future with faith. Turbulent times are opportunities for us to thrive spiritually. Our influence can be more penetrating now compared to calmer times.
